Happy Birthday Mark!

Happy Birthday Jeff!

Have any of you made your ressies for the Radison the night before the cruise? I haven't even looked into it yet. Wondering about rates? That's where we've stayed in the past, maybe there's other options?

Sorry, no. We're staying at BCV the night before, well the whole week before, the cruise.

We're staying at Boardwalk before and after the cruise. That way we'll be onsite if DVC decides to do something like last year or if not we'll still be at WDW. We are looking at having a DIS meet sometime on Saturday (most likely afternoon). Then in the morning we'll do Mass at Mary Queen of the Universe, a quick breakfast and then head on over to the port. Worked great for us last year.

Yippee!! I called Member Services this morning and was able to book a Boardwalk Studio for the night before the cruise! We're waitlisted for Beach Club, just because the girls love the pool. Either way, I'm happy that at least we're in that area for before the cruise. I was a little worried, since it's F&WF, and it's 7 months out. But, it turned out perfectly.

This is a big hint for me to start to figure out where we are staying the nights before isn't it? I wish Southwest airfare and AP rates would come out already! It would make my decision so much easier.

Olaf, no Raddison for us either. We are staying at WDW somewhere before the cruise, we'll fly into MCO, take ME to our resort then take DCL transfers to the port. That's how we did it last year and it worked perfectly for us.

Are you renting a car, Mary?

No, for the cruise we're driving down. We are flying down and renting a car for our May cruise. We just found it was so much easier last year to have the car available for all our stuff and it allowed us to bring things back for others if needed. We brought a box down for Cindy last year and took one home for her as well. A good excuse to get together two times. :)

So do I rent, and just leave it sitting while cruising?

You can do that. Or Budget and I think it's Avis has a rental locaton with shuttle near the port. So you can rent and drop the car off and then rent another when the cruise returns.

Amy - thanks for the reminder! We also booked Boardwalk and are waitlisted BCV.

Olaf - we rented with Budget pre cruise and are dropping it off at the budget facility not far from the port and taking the shuttle. Last year we rented for the entire time with National and paid to park at the port as the rate was much cheaper for a car last year.

Did everyone cruising on points do their insurance through the DVC company? That's our only option right?

That's idea. We like using National, because of Emerald aisle, but their rates this year are terrible so far.

We currently have ressies at VWL for the Thurs, Fri, Sat post cruise, but I'm hoping to switch that to BCV at the 7-month out point for better access to the Food and Wine thingie.

I guess we could plan on doing the Fri/Sat pre cruise at SOG or something. I hadn't really thought it through very well.
