Okay... well, I will be honest.
I liked the ride a lot. It moves (supposedly) 60+MPH and my eyes do tear at those speeds (that's get watery, not rip).
Stop reading now if you don't like spoilers!!!
For starters the ride line is gorgeous - you can tell they had a lot of fun making the carvings and such, and stocking the climber's supply shop that you walk through (there's even on the shovel wall, one of those collapsible shovels that some people put in their cars for snow emergencies, red plastic with a collapsible aluminum handle).
No Yoyodyne type references that I saw, but they're probably there - one through isn't usually enough to catch them.
Okay the ride itself.
I rode in the last car. Or as its called, the "steam" car. The coaster itself is set up to look like a steam engine that goes up the hill with the engine being at the back, so when it pulls in, steam kicks up, and if you're boarding the last car you walk through the steam (part of why I said "back!") No big, as its a ride that goes backwards in the middle (and people outside do not get to observe it going backwards -- see below) so back is as good as front in that respect.
One neat thing about going backwards on it, before I get into the ride, for those interested in ride physics. The speed on the ride is such that even going backwards, due to centrifugal forces, you're still pressed into the back of the seat. In other words, I didn't get "bar in the gut syndrome" like you tend to on other backwards roller coasters.
It does not go upside down, hence there is only a lap bar, and no over bar, but you do spend a lot of time on your side due to practically 90 degree banked turns.
The ride kicks off as pretty tame. You go up a small hill and don't go down much. You speed around, then you sort of coast through an area that looks like it has had a lot of fresh shrubbery planted (because it has).
Then you hit the big up incline that can be seen from the outside. Its very steep, and you head through a demolished sort of temple that is dedicated to Yeti worship near as I can tell. After the temple if you look out to the right you can see Spaceship Earth (others said they could see the big hat at MGM too, and even the castle, but the big silver ball was all I saw quickly, there's a ton of sun up there, as those who saw the videos could see).
And you're off, but you don't drop far. You coast around a bit in banked turns (to the left), you go through steamy mist, then you hit this area where it looks like the track is all broken up and there are decimated flags and such around. You can't go forward so...
You sit for about 8-10 seconds then you head backwards. Its all in the dark, and its all indoors at this point. And its a lot of turns and my bearings were bit off (yes that dark - so no points of reference) but I think we were backwards to the right. Many times. In the dark. Then you stop again.
At this point you see a silhouette of the Yeti destroying more track, and you stop. Again 8-10 seconds. Looking forward you can see a section of the track flip over. And...
Then you head off forward again. More turns. Again to the left. And then you pass under a big Yeti animatronic. And I think at that point pictures are shot (though pictures were not going yet today, but there is a picture booth from the ride in the shop). And then you're back outside. Quick around, and back to where you started.
That's the ride.
