Thanks Scott!
I know the only bad thing I had with the early dinner was especially on the first day @ port, they have to sail off party, which is a lot of fun & we always have to miss part of it in order to get ready for dinner. It is the same way when your at the different ports, so I may like late seating! My daughter is usually wiped out by dinner time for the first couple nights! That was the only thing I was worried about with the late seating, because I like for her to experience it. She fell asleep in her Tinkerbell costume during the formal dinner right on the table! I love Disney for that!!!!!:teeth:

Kim, you can also try your local post office. Under the US Passport web site, you can look up the nearest post office to you that offers passport applications and photos. They can offer you advice there as well.

Cheers, Kara

Jeff and I are late eaters as is and have only done the late seating. I would hate to have to stop what I am doing go eat and then resume the daily activities.

Speaking of dining rotations, if anyone would like to link reservations so we sit together for meals, let those people know. It's kinda cool sitting down for dinner the first night and knowing exactly who's going to be there

I would love to sit with any of you for dinner! That would be fun! How would you do that?

One person becomes the go-to to link reservations. Anyone who wants to sit together at a particular table would send that person their reservation/ confirmation number for the cruise. That person turns around and calls DCL, asking to link these reservations together and be seated together for dinner. Simple as that.

Sounds great! Thank you! So.....Do I have any takers? :( Brings back memories of being picked for sports! Just Kidding:p

Debbie, who is your travel agent? I am using DU, so just maybe if you are using them, we could get it to work. I like late for the same reasons that Rob mentioned. You almost have to stop your day at 4:00 to shower and dress for dinner. Too much is going on at that time. Also, on port days, if you are having too much fun onshore you don't want to have to stop. The negatives about late dining is simply eating so late, and if you have little ones, they usually fall asleep during dinner. Two years ago, my sister and her kids came with us, and the little one every night fell asleep before her dinner was even served, finally the last night she had adjusted, and was wide awake!

Kim, you can print the passport application on the website, go to a 1 hour passport photo place, and then go to your local Post Office. Usually the main Post Office for your area will do passports during certain hours. I just did this a couple months ago for my DD, and we got it in the mail real quick.

Rob, I love the doggy cam! Is Marcus a pug? I would love to get a pug, however I heard that they shed really bad.

I am using Leslie at Get Ready To Cruise . Still not sure if we want to switch or not.

We had one of those horribly late (did not get out of dinner till well after 11 pm) dinners and that is what we are worried about. We could never partake in the Dessert Buffet!! :mickeybar :cake:

I like to hear everyone's opinions about early vs. late

I will keep this in mind Robin and maybe we can work it out.

Someone isn't doing their job if you are there till 11. If that ever happens again you should grab your head server. Late dinner should be done by 10:30. You can also let your servers know on the first day that you prefer a quicker dinner, and they can take care of you. If all of that still is causing you problems after day 2, grab the head server and insist you have your server replaced.

We're on the boat for 14 days, we should be happy with our servers.

I've been on 4 cruises, late seating every time. We didn't get out before 1030 EVER! After 11 a few times because we were trying SO MANY things.... :hyper:

I know there were people still there every night, but most of them just didn't want to leave yet. I was amazed at the number of people who were leaving about the time our main course got to the table. They must not eat much, talk much, or something. Keith and I enjoy every minute of our meals while on vacation, so that may explain part of it, though!

We try a lot of different entrees, and we almost never felt like the meal was dragging. I guess the DCL dinners are my version of Victoria and Albert's (just the time it takes, none of the other stuff though!)

I'm bummed ..... to cloudy here to see the lunar eclipse.

They Now Offer Topsiders Sit down dinner ...

Was Good We Went in Shorts one night ..
Had A Salad Bar and I would Not say a limited menu...

But Something for Everyone...

Was Fun

Just did not feel like Dressing for dinner and All The Muss and Fuss..

Was Just The 2 of Us At The Table and maybe 10 other Couples in the place...

Great Option...

Peter Go Soxs !!!!!

Topsiders would be a great choice! Fwiw, I like the decor at Beach Blanket Buffet more than Topsiders. I also like the decor of Triton's better than Lumiere's. I always thought Lumiere's needed more BatB stuff than just the pic in the back and the lights.

The clouds are trying really hard, but the eclipse is there....I mean here! :p

We're having a great fall season here this year! A lot of trees still have leaves and the colors have been amazing vibrant this year. We also JUST had our first fairly hard frost night before last...temp 32º....thanks for keeping the chilly weather up there, Scott!!

 Kelli

Clouds are breaking up and the eclipse is pretty neat.

OK saw most of the eclipse. It was clear until about totality and then it got cloudy. It was cool, although I also saw the partial one this past summer.

I think we might try eating in the room a night or two. I want to do that at least once since you have to be in a cat 3 or higher to do it.

Dinner in your underwear! :) Well, robe maybe...

I'm planning on buying the family robes (hoping one of us is still a CM by then!!) so we can be comfy on the cruise. The robes in the gift shop were decent so I thought it would be a nice gift for everybody. That would be $500 in the budget...at least.

Wanted to let everyone know there is an Enterprise rent a car just outside the LA Cruise Terminal in San Pedro CA. They pick you up at the terminal and take you to the lot across the street to pick-up the car.

We stopped a few weeks ago when we were out there and talked with them. They will give you a one way rental to LAX for a $25.00 drop off fee. Not too bad for the convenience.

They did tell us that they had received alot of calls about the Disney Cruise and that there were going to have extra staff on that day to accomodate the large number of people renting.

They were very nice with us and had alot of information.

I asked why I could not book the reservation on the internet because I had tried to do that, and they told me that one way rentals could only be arranged by calling one of their offices.

Hope this helps some people with the rental car situation in LA.

Robes are provided for all concierge guests. No need to worry about it. And they are quite comfy. I even went to lunch in the slippers one day.

Dining in room in a cat 3 when it's delivered is very nice. We had breakfast a few times. Plus we were right below Topsiders so we ran up quick a few times.
I have to disagree with the Lumiere's vs Triton's thing. I didn't like Tritons. I just don't think of elegance when I think of the Little Mermaid. Lumiere's is understated and elegant, much like BatB.

Airtran's rates came out. I can get a one way from LAX to Ft. Myers, FL. for $160.00. Much cheaper than what Disney quoted me. Hope everyone is having a great week.

Thanks for the passport tips. I downloaded them and will just take them to my local post office. Thanks again!
