I had a character experience for Halloween...

We had a return at my (Disney) store of a Mr. Incredible costume. It happened to be my size (though a bit short in the crotch, woo!). We thought it would be fun to have someone (me of course) wear the costume for mall trick or treating. We gave out Incredibles sticker sheets.

I've never had my picture taken so many times! Apparently Mr. Incredible and I have the same hair color (we do) and half the kids I guess thought I was the real Mr. Incredible. It was definitely an experience! The kids had lots of fun.

I have a greater appreciation for the park characters for sure! The mask was plastic/vinyl so it was very hot. I had to take a character break about a third of the way through trick or treating. And Mr. Incredible ran off before we ran out of stickers. Didn't want to get stuck empty handed! :)

Called DCL this morning to see if our GTY status had changed and a stateroom assignment made. Nope not yet. Was advised that we would most likely not know until we receive our documents. Oh well, I was told we were guaranteed our Cat or higher. I can dream of a Cat 1, right..........

Kim,

Adrienne got her school pictures back yesterday. She wrote a letter to Kaylin this morning and I am sending it out in today's mail. Sorry it took so long! She was insisting on send Kaylin a picture because she wants her to know what she looks like so they can find each other on the ship.

Hope everyone is well. I've been busy and my DSL at home is not working.

We had a nice Halloween. Adrienne was a pirate. The weather here has been nice and cool and sunny. I think rain might be coming.

I found a ton of really pretty black formal/cocktail party type dresses in my closet this weekend. Since I never go out I had completely forgotten I actually own nice clothes! Now, if I could just make sure I can fit into them by May.... :rotfl:

Scott,

Have you got Elk in your front yard? Any Elk on the refuge? I've seen some photos this year of some really big bulls. Must have been a good year. I'm planning to be there next fall to photograph the elk in Yellowstone and Grand Teton.

Bill,

ELk are just starting to move, and we do have some on the refuge. Snow in the high country is making this happen. When next fall?? Don't forget the wolfs in Jellystone and our local Bison herd is getting pretty large.

We have had elk and deer in the yard and most definately across the the street on the hill side. It is a winter range area.

Hi everyone! PLEASE READ THIS:

I just received a letter from my TA today confirming the addition of my mom to my stateroom. She noted on the confirmation that my final payment date has changed from MARCH 13, 2005 to FEBRUARY 23, 2005 due to DCL's new final payment policy.

It's too late for me to call her right now (she's in FL), and I can only assume that this new date has been set for me since I ADDED someone to our room.

I am just wondering if anyone else has been given a new final payment day or if anyone else has heard anything regarding this. I was under the impression that that since I booked way back in May, under the old policy, I still had unitil 60 days out to make my final payment.

I can't tell you how much this sucks. :(

As a late addition myself it is good to know.

when Amy gets home from wdw I will check with her to see if we got the same thing.

Jindy, I just checked my reservation online with DU and it is still showing my final payment due date as 3/14/05. I however plan to pay at the 90 day mark if they are going to let us book excursions then. Sorry, but it does look like because you changed your reservation, that the new rules apply. Good luck with talking to your TA, you might want to call DCL also. I sent you a PM last night also...

Robin

Scott,

My dates for next fall are somewhat flexable, but it will probably be the last week of Sep and the first week of Oct.

If I can find you on the boat, I would like to visit since I have been coming to Jackson Hole since 1963. Love it there. Do I understand that you are leaving?

Keep in touch. I don't monitor this site regularly, but will try to pick it up.

Bill,

I am sure we will find one and other on the boat, I can give you some tips etc. I used to work for the NPS as an interpretive naturalist and MA in Environmental Ed.

Planning to move to FL in about two years six months and 26 days but who is counting. Will be able to retire then.

Interesting about the final payment date. Looking at the 90 day mark, for shore excursions reservations. Would like to know about those, but I guess we will have to wait.

Saw the new Stitch attraction today, very excellent. Really enjoyed the humor and childlike glee I enjoyed it with....

Sounds like they did a good job on Stitch. Can't wait to experience it. Childlike glee is a good way to view life, I think one can be rarely disappointed, when things are viewed in such a manner. I guess a lot of my co workers at times don't understand this.

I am also looking forward to The Polar Express movie, what a great story, I know I can still hear the bell.

Jen, hope to meet up with you all again next week. Anyone else going to be at WDW late next week?

Hi everyone! Have been very busy this week. Season has definately started early this year!:( Jindy-I hope everything works out for you. That seems kind of unfair though that they would do that! My sister in law got a room about a month ago & they did'nt do that to her. She got her own room, but I don't see why that would make a difference! Hope everyone has a great weekend. We are going to Carrot Top tonight & leaving tomorrow to see if our property in northern Florida had any damage from the storms!

Kim

Thanks, Robin for checking with DU to see if your date had changed.

My TA confirmed that DCL did in fact change my due date because I added a new guest. She told me that she tried to fight it, but they decided to go with the new policy and not listen to her. Kind of sucks, but on the other hand I will be able to book my excursions early on.

We are having rain here! LOL! All I can think about is that I'm going to Disneyland in 6 days!!!!!!!!! Haunted Mansion here I come!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hello all from southern CA! :) It was beautiful today but I only got to see about 2 minutes of it, I was inside at my conference all day. Had a wonderful day yesterday...went to the Company D(isney) store, Costco, Souplantation (my favorite "local" restaurant--we don't have them at home), then on to South Coast Plaza, back to the hotel for registration, then off to The Block at Orange. Found a great wool cashmere coat at Saks Off 5th :smooth:. How sad that I left my jacket at home! hehehe I bought two doughnuts at KK and then went to Downtown Disney.

They have lots of great holiday stuff. Their Incredibles merchandise isn't much different than the Disney Store, but they do have some pins. I will have to pick up goodies for my coworkers.

I plan to be in the parks tomorrow afternoon/evening and all day Sat. Have to do holiday shopping, plus It's a Small World will be done and the holiday fireworks are starting. I LOVE the Disneyland commercial w/the snow...then it stops and Santa picks up the snowglobe and shakes it...then the snow starts again. CUTE!

Oh, and I ate at Rainforest last night. Hadn't eaten there in years. Yummy food. And the cutest antenna topper for Thanksgiving, it's a turkey wearing a Mickey hat...

That's all for now! Oh, PS: I took Prime Time Shuttle to the hotel. I will give a report after I take them back to the airport. No complaints so far, other than they haven't answered my emails...

Wow, so many of you making trips to Disney parks - what fun!

We've almost always done an Oct. trip to either Disneyland or WDW, but just had too much going on this year.
We'll definitely have to get to DL sometime before Christmas.

I do get to run to the mall and pick up my DL AP vouchers today. I made a mad dash into the Disney store and got them ordered on the last day they were available at the old price! It's still hard to convince my DH how spending all that money is actually SAVING him - but I see it. ;)

Anyone have plans to see The Incredibles this weekend? I just caught a review on our local news channel and he said it's a must see for everyone.

Jindy

Our local high school is doing The Nightmare Before Christmas as their drama club play this year. We went to see it last night. They did a great job with it. From what they were saying, this is the first time it's been done as a live play.

My DD and I just saw the movie for the first time about 2 weeks ago. Now she is hooked. She and her friends were singing along with Jack during all the songs. The three little kids who kidnap Santa were also a riot.

To bad your so far away, I think you would like it.

for Jindy:

My confirmation note from the TA (Amy's TA in New England, not anything local for me as I'm in Virginia) which adds me as a second person to Amy's reservation says that my payment due date is March 15.

If it's been changed, they didn't note it on my confirmation.

Happy Saturday all!

Jindy, have fun at DL! We love the holiday version of HM, and really wish they would bring that to WDW too!

We are going to wait to see The Incredibles until we are on the ship for our holiday cruise. I figure, we spent enough with Disney for that cruise, I'm going to watch it for "free" on the ship, even though it's going to kill me to wait that long. Cost for the 10-day in a cat. 8 is the same as we are spending for a cat 6 on this repo cruise for 14 days!

Have a nice weekend all. It's sunny, but cold here in No. Cal., it's warmed up to 61 from 41 when we got up at 7 this morning. Brrrrrr!:jester:

Cheers, Kara
