We got new luggage..lol. So hubby and I will have two 30in, one 29 and one 26inch. We are flying back from LAX and american has baggage restrictions. We have measured each carefully to make sure..lol. Now, hopefully they won't be over the weight limit..yeah right..lol. When our daughter headed to LA, she got pegged with and $80 charge at the airport for an extra bag over the weight limit..ugh.

We will also each have a carry on, one with laptop (hubby thinks he is going to get some work done on sea days..lol), and one for misc stuff.

Should be interesting. We will mix/match clothing also and use the DCL laundry and pressing services on the ship.

Thanks! That's exactly the type of information I need to know. Anyone have any suggestions on what part of the city they would stay in when visiting LA? :)

Will you have a car? I've stayed at the Westin by the airport several times. It's a great hotel and convenient to the airport and car rental locations. It's also convenient to Beverly Center, Beverly Hills, etc. Hmm, La Cienega I think was my route up and down :).

I'm not sure where we're staying this time...we are flying JetBlue (3 bags @ 70lbs each, I think) so that is Long Beach, but I want to do LA for a day, maybe even Magic Mountain.

If you are touristing and have a car I would pick a hotel close to what you want to do. I'm in Anaheim when I do Disneyland and LA when I do the rest of SoCal cause I'm up to Malibu and down to Newport Beach when I'm there. So many places to go!

Oh, we got new 30" duffles on clearance at Target a month or so ago. $15 I think. I'm into "disposable" luggage since the airlines treat it so badly. I also found a great garment bag if anyone needs one. Wal Mart has American Tourister (nothing fancy) for $29.72...not wheeled but i didn't want the extra weight anyway. Best price for the quality, better than Target's inexpensive garment bag.

I just received this e-mail from Dreams Unlimited:

Hi everyone!

We received the following letter from Disney Cruise Line concerning their recommendation for US citizenship documentation for the West Coast and repositioning cruises:

**************************

As your clients prepare to set sail, we would like to share some information with you that will assist them in making their vacation seamless by significantly reducing their check-in and disembarkation time.

We recommend that United States citizens bring their valid United States passport as proof of citizenship. If your client is a US citizen and does not currently hold a valid US passport, we strongly encourage them to obtain one prior to their scheduled sail date. As you may know, US passports are valid for 10 years and can help expedite the boarding process, so this is a great time for them to apply for one. Please contact your local Immigration office for questions about applying for a US passport. As a reminder, US citizens traveling without a valid passport are required to present an original, state-issued certified birth certificate along with government-issued photo identification. Children under the age of 18 are not required to present photo ID.

We would like to remind your clients to pack a day bag, including all the items they will need for the day of their sailing, as their luggage will be delivered to their stateroom throughout the afternoon. Please advise them to include any medication, breakables, valuables and citizenship documentation in their day bag.

Seaulater = Disboard Navigator for this cruise. Now, I'm not coming up with an original idea here, but credit goes to Mark and Mary from the 10 day Christmas Cruise who made the Navigator and delivered to everyone's "fish" for when they arrived at their stateroom door.

I will make up the navigator (for everything we have scheduled prior to the cruise), print, bring, and deliver to everyone. I will also bring extras for the sailaway party(ies).
What Mary did is post the Navigator before we left on her website and then people could print out if they wanted.
So here's what it will list:
1. People's names; location and whether they are playing tag or not..
2. Each day and the schedule of disboard activities for that day.
3. A place for Notes
4. Anything else that might be deemed important.

Stateroom Volunteer = Volunteer'sTo Deliver The DIS Navigator That Will Be published each Day By Seaulater, Will contain What is Going on Each Day with The Dis Events. Zazu's Crew = Hygiene99, Bettemom,Videogal1,Ennisb, Scott H.and Angelj. Any others ?

The frat just keeps growing! This is a good thing.

Don't know that I'll be able to convince DH to join in... but I will definitely be there, camera in hand.
::yes::

Ashley,
Just noticed your picture on the cruise list. Was it taken on the London Eye?

Rcostello,
Don't let my oldest DD know you might be heading to Magic Mountain or you may need to plan for an extra body to tag along. She is a coaster nut and loves SFMM. We had season passes there the past couple of years. She has dragged me on every ride there and even talked me into paying extra to do thrill shot (and of course had to do the most insane setting)

So, not much chance of runnung into Jeff & Jenn on a Southwest flight, eh?
I actually don't mind the open seating. I figure I'll still be up packing at midnight anyway - I'll print off my A boarding passes and should be good to go. SW was $120 less (per person) than Jet Blue for us and a direct flight versus a layover. Hmmm

I had some catching up to do!
The in-laws called Friday night to let us know they would be dropping in for a visit... arriving Saturday morning!
They live over 400 miles away and were halfway here when they called. Do I smell a surprise ambush here? YIKES!
We love to have them come, but a bit of advance warning is always a good thing. Anyway, been busy entertaining along with all the normal busy stuff.

Back to Thumperiffic Thursday!

Hi

Someone postered here awhile back about a place near the pier to send a package once we get off the ship.. Do anyone remember the name and how close was it to the pier....

We are thinking once we get off the ship we can send a package home.

We know once we hit Disneyland we will alot more stuff.. LOL

Liz

AZ Pirates

It was the London eye and you get a great view of London. It was a special day for us as on that particular date we also visited the Houses of Parliament and were given an inside tour of the building and visited the private members Dining room and Terrace ,which is normally only open to our parliamentarians,so we were fortunate to have got the invitation. This would not be possible now security has been tightened over the last year or so.

No - we're not planning to rent a car. I was thinking that the 6 of us might take super shuttle from the port to our hotel (wherever that may wind up being). I want to be in a place where it is easy to get a tour (perhaps being picked up at the hotel) but also be in a part of the city that is relatively safe. We had been planning to spend the second night near the airport because we have early flights but now I'm not so sure.

Y E S ! ! !

I'm thinking of where our family wants to have dinner on Friday, May 13. We arrive into MCO around 4:00 and are staying at the Hyatt. My original plan was to go to DDD and eat dinner there, but nothing looks great.

We have never been to the Boardwalk, AKL, Beachclub . . . We love a good steak and the menu at Contempory Concourse Steakhouse looks perfect, but I'm not thrilled about going to the Contempory.

Can anyone recommend a good (not extremely expensive) restaurant?

Thanks.

on the boardwalk.. Awesome food. open kitchen and
a wood fired oak grill Try the steak we will be there on thursday night..

they are a little pricey $29.00 for the steak... but they have it on the kids menu also..
If you have that discount card i believe it works there..

Worth the money IMO.

Okay guys and gals...

I go away for a week and come back to more than 500 new posts....YIKES!! It took me a while to catch up, but now I am. It seems to be getting chattier as we get closer.

Hello to all the new peeps. I look forward to meeting you all!!!

I will be in touch with the respective parties to whom I owe payment for pins and patches and will take care of it in the next couple of days.

I also want to let Jenn know that DCL changed our room number - YAY!!!! The baby will get a bath!! Our gang is now in 8546 complete with tub! We are very pleased. We were not looking forward to two weeks of portable tubs or ferrying around the baby to get her a bath. I will get an email off to her as well.

So, that is good news. Oh, and we are in for tag, so I want to make sure that our new room number gets listed for that...

I am getting so excited. My sister and I are in heavy negotiations (aka planning) for our sailaway gift - it is hard when you factor in transport, luggage, cost, etc...but we are having fun!!

I will be around another week and then am off to WDW for 10 days for Spring Break. YIPEE!! So, let me know if anyone needs anything down there, I will be happy to look into it and see what I can find.

I hope all is well and that you are having a great week!!

Ciao,
Michelle aka NEM
