Wow that's great! Do you mind if I ask how many points it was, curious to see. Still wishing for my category 2.......

By the way I transferred my ressie to Dreams. I thought, what could it hurt? They are providing a place for the wine tasting so why don't I provide them a reservation? :) Plus I get the $200 rebate. Even better!
The point cost was as follows:
Cat6:
374 pts for the first two
171 for a chald/third age 12

Cat9:
266 pts x 2
141 for 3rd 12yr old

To us for the additional 246 pts it was worth the upgrade. We weren't thrilled with the risk of ending up on Deck1. We love the Cat9s with the big port hole.

Miss a couple of days and this place goes nuts. I got up early today to catch up. I think the big excitement is scrap booking. Meets are being planned and folks are progressing on travel plans.

Lets see if I got this correct , Sail away goodies are one per group, talk of a meet before the drill, and then sail away meet.
Shuttle launch could bring traffic snarls. What else. I need cliff notes for this thread.

Off to work.... still very busy.

Looks like this cruise is sold out (again) as I just did a quick check of the DCL site for availability.

You got it Scott...hope you have an easier day today!

Liz, I got you added to the TAG game and the wine party.

So can you bring a stamp or two so we could do a card on board? I could provide the cardstock paper if you let me know what you need for everyone!

Probably in my grab bag I'll include a couple of cool little tools that I use daily that I love and then some stickers (Disney stuff that I get locally) or some other little things that I have duplicates of that I have never used, but someone else probably would. Utah is actually the scrapbooking capital of the world I believe, so scrapbooking stuff here is just about on every corner. My newest find is a scrapbooking clearance store which has everything at 50% off or more every day. Now, if they would just carry some good Disney stuff! Yeah.............right!

Please add me to this group :Pinkbounc I am excited about the chance to see some fun ideas for cruise pictures. I still haven't scrapbooked our pictures from last February's 4-day cruise. I have been with Stampin' Up! for 6 years but my specialty is cards and gifts. I have never really taken the time to learn to scrapbook very well, but I am always amazed and impressed at the beautiful pages some people can create in a relatively short time. It takes me forever to do even the simplest layout. I mostly like to use roller wheels for cute borders, a few punch outs for accents and I have several sets of alphabet stamps. I am especially interested in seeing how you all use diecuts. Please let me know what I should be bringing and I would also appreciate hints on what should be included in the grabbag.

Hey Guys, one of our DVC cast members will hopefully join us here on the boards. I have encouraged it since she and her family will be doing the westbound with us. Keep your eyes open and greet her when she arrives. It is their first cruise ever.
Bill

I have been following this thread faithfully since May 5, 2004 when I booked my cruise. I have not participated because I am SURPRISING my family and didn't want any chance of them finding out. My DH left today for 10 days and won't be back until I reveal the surprise to the family on Valentine's Day.

Here are the plans for my reveal. I purchased a DVD on the Panama Canal. I will be watching it on tv, pretending it is on pbs. At the end of the show I will say "Wouldn't it be neat to cruise through the Panama Canal?" Hopefully he will agree and then I will present him with the cruise itinerary.

If anyone has any great ideas for my surprise I would like to hear those too. I thought about serving something Panamanian for Valentine's dinner.

And add us to the list of all events - sail away, wine tasting, door tag, snorkeling, scuba (for me), family gifts, scrapbooking. I am so excited to finally talk to someone about this.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to easily/safely carry multiple bottles of wine/liquor on board?

Liz (a.k.a Dirty Ethel Vane)

We carried our wine on board, packed in a box ith a touch of padding. No problems with security check at the terminal, but had to roll the weighty bag around till we could get into our cabin. Alex

How exciting for you !!!!Welcome to the board....Let us all know how everything goes...

Welcome Tink33! I sent you a PM re: the wine party and tag game.

Wine carriage: Because we are bringing a lot with us, we will be shipping a case ahead. To bring it on board, we will likely also bring four "six pack" carring boxes. These are what you get when you buy wine from a tasting room (my father works at a winery so we have easy access to these). Once we pick up our shipped wine, we will break the case down into 6 bottles per person to carry on board with us. In the past, I have carried two or three bottles in a small roll-on suitcase wrapped in clothing to cushion. There are also neoprene wine carriers that work great as an insulator to keep the bottles safe.

We carry wine with us on our travels all the time and have never had a problem going through security at airports or getting on the ship. We do put the cork screw in the checked luggage though. Though it sounds like Lynda found a safe way to do it, I would not normally recommend putting wine in checked luggage. Too big a gamble with your cruising attire in my opinion.

Ahh, the Tupperware was the convincer...Tight lid, absorbant socks and duct tape....Managed to reuse the tape on the safe door during the high seas on the last two nights. Planned to do laundry at the Poly if the worst-case catastrophe happened....

Hi all. Just cleaning up my lists and wanted to remind everyone of the tag game that will (hopefully) go on throughout the cruise. We will be passing around from cabin to cabin a magnetic Mickey shape. As each cabin that wants to participate receives it, they sign the front and pass it on to another cabin that wants to play. I would love to see how many times we can get it to go around personally!

I have about 31 cabins interested in playing at this point. If you have multiple cabins in your party, I am not assuming they also want to participate unless you tell me otherwise. So far, I only know that Sheila (AZPirates) has two cabins that want to participate. If you have other cabins in your party that want to be included, please let me know.

If you haven't joined the fun yet and want to, it's not too late. Just let me know. Just remember that if you want to participate, you need to give me your cabin number if you know it, or as soon as you find out what it is for those of you on GTY.

Looking forward to meeting you all in LESS THAN 100 days!!!! :cool1:

Wow. I haven't been on in a couple of days and am I ever behind!

Sign up (4--Bill, Mary, Bob and Carol) for the sail away party please!

Just saw the info about 3rd ship. Could the "official" announcement be coming while we are in CA?

Bill

You know I didn't think about the old wine boxes...I might have a few from the west coast or maybe something from liquor in St Thomas...that would make it easy to get the wine to the ship. I need to liquidate my stock to get fresh vino... :)

Finally, I get a chance to check in! Have been very, very busy @ work! SO, I went to my boss' wife yesterday & asked again about the cruise, and she said definately not, and my boss was upset that I even asked... so, I guess I will be giving my two week notice two weeks before we leave for the cruise :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: Oh well! I am getting VERY excited. Come on May    Hope everyone has a great day!

Kim

:cool1: Yeah KIM! I'm glad you have your priorities straight, just like me. My CEO gave me a bad time also, but I would have turned in my notice on April 29 and they would have been up a creek without a paddle and I still would be on that cruise!

I was looking in the crafts section of Walmart the other day and was surprised to find wooden wine boxes. I didn't get one, but they had them.

TINK!!!!!!!! I hope that your plan works. :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I would love to bring along some sets, pads and paper stuff and everyone can feel free to stamp whatever they like. I just didn't want to step on anyone's toes bringing stamping stuff if that was not the plan. I have oodles of extra supplies so you won't need to worry about bringing any paper for stamping projects, but thanks so much for the offer. I imagine you will have your own fair share of supplies for scrapbooking. If anyone has a special interest or theme, please PM me as I have a cajillion stamp sets (special note to DH in case he might be reading this ... honey I don't really have THAT many stamp sets!!)

My brother-in-law, his wife and us talked about the whole wine issue.

We decided to go the box-wine route. We are each bringing a box (yes, I know is it not always the high-end vintage type, but we like it) and that way we have enough for two weeks. May also bring a bottle or two for the wine tasting. Not only are the boxes more durable for packing but cheaper as well (need to find $$ for the cruise somehow).

Another question--I am surprised that there are not more glass-bottom boat shore excursions, especially off Mexico. I thought that this was a typical option.
