Hi Kim,

My mom will be onboard and is a prolific and obsessive quilter...she has the crazy bernina machine, goes on quilting trips, stops at quilting stores in every city she visits, packs away tons of fabrics...LOL. I am sure she will be bringing aboard some projects to work on as she loves it...She will be glad to hear there are others that like quilting onboard as well....

Best,
Michelle

and if I could figure out how to pass my spinning wheel off as an OFFICIAL rehabilitation tool I'd pack up that 50# of Australian wool I have left from the original 100# that I bought in the '70's I'd set myself out on deck 4 and spin awayyyy....

Scrapbook stuff is prolly more portable.....

Okay.. how do all of you get nice cute SHORT Pirate names and I come up with
Can't Remember Where the Damn Treasure's Buried Jen" ?????
I have a feeling someone at the Pirate Name Generator knows me personally....LOL pirate:

I also need guidance as to what to put in a scrapbooking grabbag.... I have almost nothing so anything I get will be exciting.... but what can I get that someone who is a veteran scrapbooker might want?? Are we going to draw names or just throw the bags all together and pick one that isn't ours?? BTW.. sign me up for it...LOL

Linda,

Do you have a picture of the Mickey album? I just read about it here this morning and can't find it on the Creative Memories website. The mother I ordered from today said they are discontinuing this album. Maybe I'll get 2!!

Laurie

Laurie, I just found it on the Creative Memories site, and "pre" ordered one from a near by consultant. I guess you can't order directly from the company. If you click on albums, then speciality, then down the page you click on the Mickey 7 x 7, and it will bring up a picture. It is adorable! I hope I hear back from the consultant. ::MickeyMo

Yes, it is a limited edition. Size is 7 x 7. Retail is $24, 25% off is $18, the other 5% covers the shipping to send to you. If you get on the ship (I'll be bringing some on the ship also) I just give it to you at cost for $16.80.

Here's a picture:

If you're interested, PM me and I'll get one on its way to you!

Linda, where did you have the scrapbook class on the 10 day? I just never see much open space. Are you able to use one of the restaurants during off time?

Sandra

I am a VERY NOVICE at scrapbooking -- can think about it, but don't have much creativity to get it done.

We had it in the Promenade Lounge in the afternoon. It wasn't a problem because the lounge wasn't even opened yet. That worked pretty well and we had lots of space. I'll do some more checking though.

We also used the Promenad Lounge for our ornament exchange. Had about 50-60 people there. It was at 4 p.m., so that wasn't a problem either.

OK now that we are 100 days out I am starting to plan. I was reviewing the 10-day cruise Navigators to get a sense of what our cruise might be like as far as events, extra costs, etc. In most cases you should be able to just double the 7-day, but you never know. Thought I would list it here so you can actually see the comparison.

Here are the basics I have so far, based on the average cost per day on the 7 vs 10 vs 14 day (daily rate with nice "round" numbers):

7-night 10-night 14-night*
Internet 89.99 129.99 179.99*
Wine Classic 159.00 228.00 319.00*
Wine Premium 249.00 359.00 499.00*
Rainforest Pass 75.00 120.00 150-170.00*

*estimate
Other notes...

The 10-night had both deck parties (tropical and pirate). Maybe we will have pirate and mexicali.

There were 2 formal and 1 semi-formal nights. I would expect 2 of each, hopefully not more than that. I don't want more than that!

In addition to the standard shows (didn't I read we are supposed to have a new one?), there was Rhythm Extreme (like Stomp), a couple of movie nights or variety folks, WWTBAM, and a "variety spectacular" which included Christy Carlson Romano who was featured several times in the first half of the 10-night cruise.

They had time for 60s, 70s, and 80s nights, woo hoo! :) Maybe we can have a 90s too. Hmm, where's my blue dress....Monica!!

Menus were:

Rotation (3)
Around the World
Master Chefs
Pirates menu
Golden Mickey's menu
Christmas menu
Captain's Gala
Til We Meet Again

Hmm, they don't say ahead of time what night is which special menu. I wouldn't want to miss something good while I'm eating at Palo, I plan to eat there twice.

Anyway, let me know if there is something else you want summarized from the Navigators. Guess we won't know it all til we get there. I find that frustrating!

The first night when we got our Navigator for Sunday for Key West, it had a list of each night and what was planned for the whole cruise. However, since they had never done a 10 day, when you looked at the navigators throughout the whole cruise, they kept messing up stuff since they just took it from the seven day. But once we were there, we at least knew what nights were what.

I think 100 of us called DCL every day and we all kept getting different stories, 2 formal nights, 1 formal night, formal on Christmas Day, no formal on such and such a day. It changed moment by moment.

Now I am more relaxed and not as worried about the 14 day. I figured if I made it through 10 days and took way too many clothes, I can make it through 14!

thanks for the info on free shipping for Oriental Trading....I'll get GitD necklaces ordered soon. Glad I got that part taken care of....I was just thinking their pirate hat craft kit might be fun for the kids (of all sizes!!!!)

Oh, and here is my grandson and son-in-law on the 10 day cruise!

Even on one of our 7-night cruises they kept messing things up on the Navigators. On formal night they said casual wear, or vice-versa...there were so many mistakes...they are lucky people showed up in the right clothes.

How excited are we?!?!?!

I called DVC to inquire if there was any chance of upgrading our stateroom from a Cat9 GTY to a Cat6. A few minutes later the MS returned to inform me it was our "Magic Day"! There was a Cat6 available & we got it!!!! I paid the points with a smile on my face. I had been calling every day with my fingers crossed.

The light up necklaces are great. Our family dressed up in black and white for Animator's Palate (to go with the B+W decor), The waiter's loved it. Then, when everything turned to color, and the waiter's vests were in color, we added our glow in the dark items (all in different colors) and added to the fun! :Pinkbounc My 7 year old nephew loved it!

Hi Bonzie,

I LOVE this idea!!! What a great way to involve yourself in the whole transformation. I hope you dont mind, but we may have to borrow your idea for that night as well....it is too good to pass up!!! I love the great ideas on the DIS!!

Michelle

Would someone be so kind as to repost the Pirate Names websites? pirate:

Thanks!

Wow that's great! Do you mind if I ask how many points it was, curious to see. Still wishing for my category 2.......

By the way I transferred my ressie to Dreams. I thought, what could it hurt? They are providing a place for the wine tasting so why don't I provide them a reservation? :) Plus I get the $200 rebate. Even better!

Wow!! This thread has really exploded! I didn't think I would ever catch up on the last hundred or so pages. We'll be driving to the port on Friday afternoon and staying at the Radisson. After the cruise it's off to DL for 3 days. I think the only thing I still have to do is decide how we are getting from the port to DL.

Mechelle & I will be at the Sailaway party and the wine tasting. Please sign us up for the tag game as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to easily/safely carry multiple bottles of wine/liquor on board?

For the 10-day I took two bottles of Texas white. Each was threaded into a thick wool knee sock and then they were laid parallel in a Tupperware vegetable "crisper". I stuck the Tupperware box in a checked bag with my clothes and crossed my fingers for a successful flight to Orlando. Both bottles arrived safely.

Please add me to this group :Pinkbounc I am excited about the chance to see some fun ideas for cruise pictures. I still haven't scrapbooked our pictures from last February's 4-day cruise. I have been with Stampin' Up! for 6 years but my specialty is cards and gifts. I have never really taken the time to learn to scrapbook very well, but I am always amazed and impressed at the beautiful pages some people can create in a relatively short time. It takes me forever to do even the simplest layout. I mostly like to use roller wheels for cute borders, a few punch outs for accents and I have several sets of alphabet stamps. I am especially interested in seeing how you all use diecuts. Please let me know what I should be bringing and I would also appreciate hints on what should be included in the grabbag.
