Good news! If your (or anybody) is prone to motion and/or sea sickness then Bonaine works pretty well. One of the main points that some forget is to start taking the night before you're on the water to get it in your system.

The bigger ships aren't a problem for me, but on a smaller dive boats, with 4' - 5' seas I get a little green in the gills as well. Especially, sitting there at anchor, wallowing back in forth. The night before and before you leave routine as made those trips a "non-issue".

Thanks for the encouragement! Do you ever increase the dosage? I stayed w/ 1/2 tab but the seas were calm.

Hi everyone!

I thought I read that some of you were going to MVMCP. Can someone tell me about it. We're driving down. Leaving on the 16th in the afternoon and won't be there till the 17th. Would that be a bad night to go?(night before we sail) Where did you get your tickets? Is it really crowded? I can't handle shoulder to shoulder crowds. Has anyone been to this before? Now don't freak out or yell at me, but I haven't been to WDW since 1988 and that was before kids.

I'm just chatting to myself here so don't mind me... Our friends who we are meeting in WDW before the cruise have confirmed that we are going to MVMCP on the 14th. I am so excited. We've never been to WDW in December and we are really looking forward to it... I hope the weather's nice. But hey, if there isn't any snow on the ground, it will be nicer than it is here...

Hey Annie, we'll be at MVMCP on the 14th too! We are also excited...we did MVMCP for the first time last year, but we had just gotten off of a red eye/all day flight to FL, so we were exhausted and didn't do all of the special things that come with the party. We're so looking forward to it. We're also excited to see the Osborne Family Specticle of Lights, since Disney didn't put that display up last year at MGM.

Lots to do and see before the cruise! Yippy! :Pinkbounc I'm getting so excited...combing my Unofficial 2005 guide, starting to pack (I'm not as good as Stacey! :teeth: ), and DYING to know when DCL will release our theme nights.

Cheers, Kara

Hi Judy - MVMCP is fantastic. The Magic Kingdom closes early to regular day guests, and only those who purchase the MVMCP tickets get in for the evening. The sell only a small amount of tickets compared to the size of the parks, so it didn't feel crowded to us at all. Most of the attractions are open, and they do several special shows, parades, and fireworks shows for the celebration. All of the characters are dressed for the holidays, and the decorations in the parks are just fabulous!

It really is a great experience. If you are driving down that same day, you should know the 'party' runs from 5pm to 1am (I believe). Since we all head to the Port to board the cruise on the 18th, we chose to attend the party another night. But if you don't mind a little less sleep that night, it's definitely worth doing.

Cheers, Kara

Sue....no offense taken. I hate to walk through a wall of smoke, too.

Well, I guess I forgot to tell my husband that we weren't allowed any broken bones before the cruise. He fell at work today, broke his finger, and messed up his back. Refuses to go to the ER....being the big "man".....
What's interesting is that my friend Ruthie called this morning, and Phil broke his finger playing ball last night. He also wouldn't go to the doctor, so they wanted some of my painkillers. I really wish they would go to the doc and got their own (both Phil and Jay!)

Judy, all I know about MVMCP is that the park is open late for a limited number of guests, they have treats and hot chocolate, Christmas music, snow on Main Street, rides are open.....I called and got my tickets ahead of time. I don't have a toll free number, maybe someone else does...but I have 407-566-4985.

Back later!

Since it's the last night - It's going to be a little crowded - but from what I've heard - they limit the tickets - and you can find areas and rides without anybody around....

You can call WDW AT (407) WDISNEY. Here's the official link to MVMCP - MVMCP

DISBoard info on MVMCP: MVMCP

We thought it'd be a great time.....and a great way to start the cruise!

You can also order them online by going to WDW's site, clicking on tickets, then clicking on special event tickets. I ordered mine online and received them in about a week and a half or so on the west coast. But you could also pick them up at will-call, I believe.

Thanks for all the info. It sounds like fun. I guess I'll have to check into it further.

Anybody staying at the airport hotel(S) on the night of the 17th?

Maybe some of us could get together then.....

Christine

Hi Christine...there are a few I think. We're going to be at the Grand Floridian......

I have two suitcases packed. Two entire suitcases with Christmas decorations, and extra "junk".....

The good news is that I am leaving most of that stuff behind, so I will have at least one empty bag to bring home "goodies"!
Whoo hoo!!:Pinkbounc

woo hoo...finally got it...the newsletter,that is.

FANTASTIC job on it (& the tee-shirt designs).

If you are taking a vote....I think front #1 and back #2 is SIMPLY MARVELOUS!

Christine - Good idea. We are staying at the MCO Hyatt. I won't know about our flight times til Nov 16 or 17. Even if we get in early I am not planning to go to any of the parks.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is wonderful! We've done it for the past 2 years, but we are skipping it this year.

If you plan on staying to the end the best suggestion is to skip the first parade and do rides then. The 2nd parade is much less crowded. Don't forget to get your button and have your picture taken (it will be mailed to your home).

We love eating at Liberty Tree Tavern before the party and I think many in this group are doing that.

Enjoy!

We are getting in around 4 p.m. and have 3 rooms reserved at the Fairfield Inn at the airport. There are 13 of us though (8 adults, 1 pre-teen, 4 grandkids!)

I was thinking though that I might break down and get a rental car and me and the girls could go shopping at Downtown Disney and at the Disney Clearance outlets while we left the "boys" home with kids!

Linda

Christine,
We're staying at the MCO Hyatt too. We don't get in until around 9pm on Friday but it would be fun to either meet for breakfast or to ride the Disney CL bus to the port if that's the way you are going. Having two teen-aged boys, I don't think we are going to get up really early. Probably breakfast around 9am or so. Does anyone know if they have a buffet there?

Take care,
Teresa & crew

We're the odd ones out, I think. We're staying all the way down at Vero Beach the night before. Own there, have never stayed there.
