Kerry has called President Bush to concede and will do so officially at 1:00 pm. Tivo set. :)

Well I am glad the election is over with. At Lisa's school this year they learned about the electorial process, but ended up voting for their favorite authors. Four years ago they had a problem at her elementary school with various teachers telling the kids who there parents should be voting for. They had a mock election in Lisa's first grade class. She came home and asked who I had voted for. I told her. Well, she had "voted" in her class the way the teacher had indicated she was voting and boy was Lisa upset. She kept saying "But, I want to vote with my family". We reassured her that she could vote any way she pleased and that a first grade vote didn't really count anyway. Well, with all of the recount votes here in Florida four years ago, I am convinced she thought her "vote" had counted.

Hi Lisa! Looks like we're just going to miss you on Antigua - DH and I are also doing the Kayak and Eco tour, but we're doing the morning tour!

Here are out excursions. So far, I haven't seen anyone post that they will be joining us in St. Lucia:

Key West: Jet Ski tour of the island, on our own (1:30 tour)
St. Maarten: renting a car on our own
St. Lucia: Waterfall Island Bike Tour (morning)
Antigua: Kayak & Snorkel Eco-adventure (morning tour)
St. Thomas: probably do the tram tour on our own, then just play things by ear pirate:
Casaway Cay: Cabana massage if we can get it, maybe rent floats for the adult beach if the weather is nice...:p

Cheers, Kara

When the kids came home yesterday, they told me that they had "voted" in each of their classes. You can tell by the kids' votes which way all of the parents here lean......we live in a hugely Republican area.......Bush took each class by a landslide.

And Jordan reminded me how old I am by telling me that she will be old enough to vote in the next election! Yikes!

I think the whole Cheney breaking a tie thing is only if there were a tie in the House and Senate races........but don't quote me on that.......

Time now to actually get some work done today!!

Have a good one,
Stacey

Our kids voted in school on Monday too. A coworker asked me about it because his son said that they had done this. The co-worker was upset because he felt like they were trying to see what the parents were going to vote. He said that they shouldn't take up class time for things like that unless it directly is taught as a lesson?

Our middle schools have blocked science and social studies in 6th grade this year, so you either have science or social studies (they switch every 9 weeks). Apparently his son has science. So they didn't tie the vote into any lesson. He was going to complain. I told him that even if they don't tie it into a lesson, at least the kids understand the process. I can't understand why he was upset. But oh well!

I guess I am just plain stupid, I have never found on DCL's site where they listed the theme nights.....guess I'll do some hunting. I always looked at the old navigators.

Hey Stacey - according to Debbie it should be posted on the DCL website under dinning. I have included the link below. Once you get to this page just click on a dinning room( i.e. Parrot Cay) and it will show you the theme dinner menus. The only problem is when I was looking into this further I figured out that it does not list which night the events will be held on. I guess that information we have always gotten from past cruisers. So I will just continue to bug Debbie. Since I have already called her this week, I will try her again next week. Here is the link for the dinning site, but I don't think it is going to help much.

Good Morning!

Kevin...it is a Mead....should I save it and bring it on the cruise instead?? I can a few more weeks!

Cool, most Meads are pretty high octane and do make a nice sipping drink. They are not typcially consumed with meals or as a social drink..... Great on cold (below 60° nights) But if you want to carry it, bring it on!

If it was mine, it would be left.

IT'S GETTING CLOSER!!!!!!!

Just thought I would post this little tid bit. Someone on the main cruise line board posted that they just got their documents for their 12/04/04 cruise. That's only a couple of weeks away from ours. :jumping3: I know it's early, but I am going to start looking for the UPS guy.:p I just ordered a lot of stuff on the Internet too, so everytime the doorbell rings I will be running. :teeth:

How about some samples of MERIDIAN (or Meridia)????

Maybe if I could loose some weight now, I can eat lots on board!!!!tee hee hee.......

Just a thought

Here's a diet that is designed to help cope with stress. It was sent to me by a colleague...

Breakfast:
1 grapefruit
1 slice whole wheat toast
1 cup skim milk

Lunch:

1 small portion lean, steamed chicken
1 cup spinach
1 cup herbal tea
1 Hershey's kiss

Afternoon:
Tea
The rest of the Hershey Kisses in the bag.
1 tub of Haagen-Daz ice cream with chocolate
chip topping.

Dinner:
4 glasses of wine (red or white)
2 loaves garlic bread
1 family size supreme pizza
3 Snickers Bars

Late Night Snack:
1 whole Sarah Lee cheesecake (eaten directly
from the freezer).

Remember: Stressed spelled backward is desserts.

Here's an exercise program to go with the diet program I just shared... My husband emailed this one to me (I call him the sabatoger because he will put out chips and dip, etc. and have one chip while I have no self-control and will eat whatever is put in front of me) ...

New exercise Routine if you're over 40!

New exercise routine if you're over 40. You might want to take it easy at first, then do it faster as you become more proficient. It may be too strenuous for some.

Always consult your doctor before starting any exercise program!

Hi All

Got back yesterday from a Carnival 2 night cruise to nowhere. It was grand! The Miracle is not the Magic but she is very nice. Worst part of the short trip was using the port of Baltimore. The two shows on Miracle were very well done and multi-generational. Live 10 piece orchestra pit. 3 non smoking bars/lounges with entertainment. You can really walk from the restaurant to 2 different venues without wading through smoke. (no offense Stacey).
The weather was perfect as we did a lazy figure eight about 90 miles east of Virginia Beach.

I'm just chatting to myself here so don't mind me... Our friends who we are meeting in WDW before the cruise have confirmed that we are going to MVMCP on the 14th. I am so excited. We've never been to WDW in December and we are really looking forward to it... I hope the weather's nice. But hey, if there isn't any snow on the ground, it will be nicer than it is here...

Hi Sue - Sounds like a nice prelude to the December cruise... I just read an interesting article about seniors cruising instead of going to a senior's residence. Apparently the cost over 10 years is about the same and of course the food and service is far superior... something to look forward to...

I forgot to mention before that we are staying at Old Key West. Another first for us. Of all the times we've been to WDW we have never stayed on site... Should be fun...

... and if I counted right, and was fast enough, this should be my first top on this thread... YIPPEE!! pirate:

I guess you could say I had a BOTTOM and a TOP... well that's all for me for now, I just thought I'd do my part in adding to the posts since I've been hiding in the wood work... My DD is home from school today with the flu - so I'm working (checking the DIS)from home...

My biggest news is I used the Bonine instead of the 'patch'. I didn't get at all queasy. Of course the seas were very calm. Thanks to the advise from you guys I started out with 1/2 tabs last week. Made me sleepy the first night.

Annie - I am almost a senior so I guess you say I was doing an onsite visit to see where I would be most comfortable. Our cabin was on deck 5 w/ veranda and it was a bit smaller than the cat 6 w/ veranda on DCL.

Good news! If your (or anybody) is prone to motion and/or sea sickness then Bonaine works pretty well. One of the main points that some forget is to start taking the night before you're on the water to get it in your system.

The bigger ships aren't a problem for me, but on a smaller dive boats, with 4' - 5' seas I get a little green in the gills as well. Especially, sitting there at anchor, wallowing back in forth. The night before and before you leave routine as made those trips a "non-issue".
