Good morning Cruisers!
We sail in 4 weeks!

Karen is correct - the magic number is 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Karen's also right in that 4 weeks ago was the day we booked the Member Cruise. Wow that seems like just last week. It is going to go real fast now.

This weekend is sorting clothes for us. We have a rack set up where we are going to put all the cruise clothes. Mark will take all those that need to be professionally cleaned in to work. We have the suitcases out and we will start putting things on the dining room table in anticipation of packing.

Button production is moving along - we are about 75% done. I will post a final list either today or tomorrow and then will cut it off. Same for the mini-nav and tag - I should have their lists up for final review today so I can finish this up.

Walking Groups - I have a suggestion for a meeting place. How about the Walt mural outside the Walk Disney Theatre.

It is easy to recognize, should not be crowded at that time of the morning, is on deck 4 so we can start walking right away, and for the early birds the can browse the shop windows and silent auction items.

What do you think?

Please confirm too that we want two groups: 7:30 and 8:30

Great idea for a meeting spot. And 2 groups works for me.

OM - Today is the big day. I just checked our newspaper and we are lucky today. We actually get to watch THE game, UM vs OSU.

May the best team (Michigan!) win.

What a relief for you it must be. After the game today you can start saying "Michigan" again.

Who has paid the most?

The other big event for the day, besides the UM vs OSU football game, is our anniversary dinner - 19 years. We are celebrating tonight since DW is letting me be out of town next week.

What a good wife, not only is she letting me go to Costa Rica over Thanksgiving, it's also over our anniversary.

There will be a nice dinner and a nice gift to try and make up for it. Food and gifts always seem to work.

Congrats to Dee as well on doing so well! Great job!

Good Morning Everyone

I cannot believe it is only 4 weeks away. Mary, I love your idea of the rack for getting clothes together. I have one in my basement and I am going to bring it up today and get my "you know what" in gear. I've been saying that for about three weeks now. I am literally working up until the trip to the airport. We have to leave at 4PM and I asked parents to pick up their kids by 3:45pm or pick them up at Logan Airport. I have to stress that since I have 2 parents that are consistently 15-30 mins late.

I think the two groups walking is a great idea. Some mentioned breakfast after, even better idea.

Well, I ordered the pirate stuff yesterday. Whoever posted the "dean men" site, thanks so much. What a riot. I almost ordered a wench costume but I think DH will kill me if I spend $$$$ on that one.

Congratulations Dee on your accomplishment.

Mary, as usual, what a great job keeping everything organized for us all.

Happy Saturday Morning Cruisers!

Jim and Sharon Happy Anniversary!!!

Its a rainy, dreary day here today. Hope I can get motivated. Have lots to do!

I tried to get into chat last night, but couldn't. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Hope eveyone has a great day.

Maybe not, but Macs have their own problems as well.
Mostly lack of programs written for them.

Happy Anniversary Jim and Sharon.....

Yeah, truth be told, I figured it meant it could handle that weight in laundry. It took me a sec to realize it, but then it became obvious. That's me, always having to be a smart A^$. You can thank my dad for that one! ;)

uh..no but I've managed to lose people before now using inside the industry wording, wouldn't be the first time. :)

Stacey,
As for washers....We have this goofy electric load demand meter that makes it so I can ONLY do laundry on the weekends or between 9PM and 8AM. It keeps our electric bill lower---about 1/2 of what our neighbors pay. Anyway, last year we upgraded and I got the Kenmore Elite front loading washer (and matching dryer) from Sears. I LOVE them. Finally I can do ALL of my whites in ONE load instead of breaking it up into two loads!! It makes a huge difference. I can also do large things that typically I would have had to take to the laundromat. :)

To use a more modern phrase than I normally would, front load home washers are da bomb! It is the same process the industry uses to do laundry, and it is 100 times more efficient than the top loaders. The key to washing is mechanical action. Top loaders kind of just push the stuff around in a pail of water. a front loader actually gets the fabrics to move around so the soap can do its job and release the dirt. The thing to be careful of are the garments that you'd normally have trouble with even in a top loader, as the same mechanical action is what causes shrinkage.

Oh and one thing about front loaders- you don't need to buy that 'he' soap all you need to do is use any you want, but cut the amount to approximately one third of recommended. You'll need to run a load and watch. The reason is, the soap at top loader amounts will over suds, like the old sitcom skits. Yes, that's all HE is, weak soap. All you want to see is a small amount of suds, not flooding the whole machine with them.
