Thanks for the congrats, everyone!

tksbaskets -- my DS is testing tonight. My new rank is Advanced Yellow, he will be Green if he passes tonight.

Congratulations on your testing. Lisa "tests" next Saturday morning with a gymnastics judge. She is very nervous. She has all of her routines and required skills, but next week she has to do her routines on each of the apparatice (Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor) for a judge. They will evaluate her routines, score her and let her know where she needs to improve (or what needs to be changed) prior to her competition season. Her first meet is a WDW's Wide World of Sports in January. Hopefully all will go well for her.

I'm not up on modern terminology, but I'm assuming "da bomb" is a GOOD thing based on the rest of your post! :)

REALLY, I don't need to buy HE soap? INTERESTING. I have been--and sometimes it's hard to find! I have NEVER used the "recommended" amount of anything....I figure they tell you that amount so you go through it faster and buy more. I've always used about 1/3 of the amount of regular soap in my regular washer. I use about 1/3 the amount of HE in my front load. Stuff gets clean. I don't smell (that I know of!)

Oh, I also don't shampoo, rinse and repeat! ;)

No, you don't need the HE soap. Just try a regular detergent in smaller amounts and watch during the beginning of the wash, there should be some suds, but not enough to fill the basket or anything. The reason you need to reduce is twofold, the much less amount of water to thin it out, and all the tumbling action will make lots of suds.

Nick and I are heading to the mall and then to puppy class (without the puppy) which will give Maggie time to rest.

So, which one of you is going to wear the collar?

Angie, just have hubby send the picture directly to Mary, the forwarding could be messing it up.

ScubaMom wants to make it perfectly clear that I, Scuba Diver, did this one post. I forgot to change the sign on. She is not responsible for this comment.

Since tonight we are celebrating our anniversary I want to keep her happy for the day.

Everyone clear? Scuba Diver did that post and not ScubaMom.

I hope she is happy!!!

Angie - got it and will be putting it up today. I have another one to put up as well and will alert everyone when they are up.

SURPRISE............SURPRISE

I got up this morning at 6 a.m. and started........................PACKING.......................................

Yes, it's true, miracles do exist.

Actually, started getting out a few Christmas items I wanted to put out and thought...........might as well pack that Christmas suitcase while I am at it!!!!!

No documents here yet and now it's the weekend, so I guess mine are coming pony express also.

Okay, also printed out my door magnets this morning, I will take digital pictures and download sometime this weekend. I am also trying to do my Ebay week for the month to get some money for our excursions!!!
Later everyone!

Yeah, truth be told, I figured it meant it could handle that weight in laundry. It took me a sec to realize it, but then it became obvious. That's me, always having to be a smart A^$. You can thank my dad for that one! ;)

Stacey,
As for washers....We have this goofy electric load demand meter that makes it so I can ONLY do laundry on the weekends or between 9PM and 8AM. It keeps our electric bill lower---about 1/2 of what our neighbors pay. Anyway, last year we upgraded and I got the Kenmore Elite front loading washer (and matching dryer) from Sears. I LOVE them. Finally I can do ALL of my whites in ONE load instead of breaking it up into two loads!! It makes a huge difference. I can also do large things that typically I would have had to take to the laundromat. :)

I think that's the washer and dryer that I've had my eye on. It's a sad state of affairs when you sit wishing an appliance would break!!

uh..no but I've managed to lose people before now using inside the industry wording, wouldn't be the first time. :)

To use a more modern phrase than I normally would, front load home washers are da bomb! It is the same process the industry uses to do laundry, and it is 100 times more efficient than the top loaders. The key to washing is mechanical action. Top loaders kind of just push the stuff around in a pail of water. a front loader actually gets the fabrics to move around so the soap can do its job and release the dirt. The thing to be careful of are the garments that you'd normally have trouble with even in a top loader, as the same mechanical action is what causes shrinkage.

Oh and one thing about front loaders- you don't need to buy that 'he' soap all you need to do is use any you want, but cut the amount to approximately one third of recommended. You'll need to run a load and watch. The reason is, the soap at top loader amounts will over suds, like the old sitcom skits. Yes, that's all HE is, weak soap. All you want to see is a small amount of suds, not flooding the whole machine with them.

Okay...you're killing me here.....I WANT one of those new machines SOOOOOO bad. I have to use a ton of soap (hard water.....and I'm betting you have a better suggestion for me) just to get the clothes clean. I could save a ton of money if I bought the new washer/dryer.::yes::

these boards are not moving along very fast today??????

are we waiting for warmer weather???????????????

at work again everyone else must be having a good day.

finishing up lunch, making some chili today. looks like I'll be eating it for a few days. rreally made enough I can make it to W D W and still have some left.

Stacey I got tired of waiting for my w/d to quit and DH bought me a set a couple years ago. I also really like the new Kenmore set. Maybe in the new house (if we ever build it) I'm trying to talk him into the new fridge too, but no such luck yet. (Maybe the $$$ of the cruise has a little to do with it.):goodvibes :goodvibes

How awesome is it to watch the game of the year and post on the DIS (at the same time):hyper: :hyper:

I thought you were saying that to get out of trouble for buying the new truck(s)

Obviously, I am home from the soccer game....survived getting up before daylight. A little worried that someone might see what I look like before the sun comes up! (think Shrek)

Need to toss in some laundry. Not even going to think about packing the other cruise stuff until after Thanksgiving.
I was going to start with t-shirts and shorts, but I'm still wearing them. Darn.

Vicki...we did our own version of a Land/Sea in May 2002....we hadn't ever cruised before, so we weren't sure if we'd like it (Stupid!) so we only did the 3 night Wonder. I did not want to get off the ship. In fact, we WERE the last ones off. They practically shoved us. We sailed on May 30th, 2002.

CONGRATS, DEE!!!!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO THE SCUBA-COUPLE!!! :rose: :rose:

Greetings from England where it is SNOWING!!!
Has anyone had their docs yet, or info on how many formal nights etc?!!!

Good Afternoon Cruisers.........

It's been a few days since I've been on the board....

Hey ladies...remember those WISK laundry tabs? Are they not made any longer? I'd hate to take POWDER laundry detergent in my carryon..........

DD's basketball game was cancelled....other team forfeited!

DS's game....they won by 1 point. DS made 2 shots and stole the ball 3x!!!!!

Again, for those folks coming into the HYATT at the airport the day/evening before, PM me! No matter what time.. I'm trying to 'organize' some type of meet&greet so we know each other and maybe we'll have some chit-chat going on in the bus!

Countin' the days down
