I knew the Tag Fairy put my tags there, I was just telling Dee that I didn't know who, what, when, or where they are!
I'm just glad they haven't tagged me like they did Barb....only with something like "Meets Men in Las Vegas"...that would be ugly!

Thanks for the info, Mary and Stacey. Looks like I'll have to book it! I shot an email out to DU, hopefully they'll get back to me soon. Otherwise I'll just call DCL directly.

As long as I'm still married in Dec. (HA!) this pkg. sounds like fun!

BTW, Stacey, the Rainforest room has limited capacity, and I never sailed in peak time, so I don't know how hard it is to get in when the ship is totally full. On the other hand, the main area only has 4? or 3? stone loungers, so you never feel crowded once you get in.

I love the Rainforrest room. I think there are either 6 or 8 lounges. 3 or 4 on each side. It is a wonderful place to relax and unwind! The other thing I love about it is that you can get a really good shower in there. I wonder what they will charge for a 10 day pass? I will have to look over the spa list after we make our excursion decisions!!

Anyone have an idea when they will decide what our itenarary for formal nights and such will be??
It seems like all of the sudden the time till cruise is moving very quickly. I have much to do!!!

I just got off the phone with DCL's excursion desk. Here's the official word:

We can book our excursions on October 19th.

DCL is changing their booking policy...but it only applies to people who have, within the last two weeks, booked their cruise. If you just booked a cruise, you can book shore excursions 75 days in advance. If you have a suite, and you just booked (and from now on) you can book excursions 90 days in advance.

For us.....we booked a long time ago, and ours is not included in this new change. So it's Oct 19.

The new change applies only if your cruise is paid for in full by the 75 day or 90 day mark. So, if DCL gets your money early, you can book excursions early.

They changed it because that is how all of the other cruise lines do their bookings.

She also said that our cruise is 100% full. The repo cruises are 100% full, and only a few available rooms on ALL of the Mexican Riviera cruises.

If this sounds confusing, just ask me...and I'll try to say it better. I tend to write a book.

Mark and I looked at the rainforest room on sailaway day on our May 2003 cruise and planned to buy a weeklong pass. The woman at the desk was busy so we decided to come back. We never made it back! One thing we plan to do on the 10 day is to buy the pass and make use of it.

Stacey - thanks for the info on excursions. Guess I'll just have to keep my notes for a couple of more weeks.

I've heard that you can call and put credits on your onboard account. Has anyone done this? I would love to put the money needed for our excursions on and pay them off before we cruise. If we can't I just put the money aside and pay it off when we get home.

I had confirmation that I have added the REAS and I have given them my requested dates for the various ressies. Its such fun when you can start reserving things isn't it. Now I've started I just can't wait to be on the cruise.

The Rainforest sounds heavenly. I can just imagine myself in there quite a bit.

Something comes to mind after reading your post.

We are fairly new to the cruising thing, and I was just wondering about something regarding getting upgraded into a better category.

If the cruise is 100% booked right now............on October 19th people must be paid in full.
I am assuming there will be some cancellations.

So.....on Oct 20th a new customer phones Disney for example, and wants a Cat. 12 and there are not enough to go around, is that when Disney starts upgrading the already booked customers?

Stacey, now you know better than to write something you don't want to see as your 'tag'. You never know if/when you will be gotten. That's how I got all 3 of mine, they were quotes from some of my posts. So you may see it under your name someday. But I don't mind my 'collects Disney men', because it is true.

I have been lurking for the last few days, love the comradery. My niece is in her last year of high school and she plays the trombone in the marching band. The unit was in the Miss America Parade last night and they took 1st place! Scholarship money and they will be 'honor band' next year. Then this afternoon the 'band fans' were surprised with a football win!

Yes, Afff, that's the way upgrades work, in theory. But DCL may also have a waiting list in all categories for this cruise, since it's sold out for a while. Any upgrades would probably happen at the port. And there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason as to who gets one. I do know that it doesn't happen that often on the Magic.

It's so quiet here today. No kid to take anywhere, no DH wondering what I have planned for dinner. Just me... sniff. (Oh goody, this means I can watch whatever I want on the big TV tonight! Miss America, here I come!)

I should add, the cat is driving me NUTS! And my spray bottle isn't working. DH moaned about the cat every time we called from WDW, guess it's my turn.

Movie Review: we made it through 10 minutes of Ladykillers. What was Tom Hanks thinking? Jersey Girl was entertaining and fairly charming. The little girl in it is Adorable. And she actually reminded me of JLo (who plays her Mom in the movie). She can even sing.

The Teen thread is getting pretty funny. Wow, guess they really are our kids.

I saw Jersey Girl on the way to Zurich. I liked it too.

I got my REAS added. What time are people doing Palo Brunch? Because my DU agent says "As a courtesy to guests booking this package, Disney is also taking advance reservations for brunch and high tea at Palo."

So is there a DIS Palo time? I tried the Tea once. Never again. But brunch is to die for!!!!!!!!!! Dinner is good, but all I really want is the CHOCOLATE SOUFLE!!!!!!!!!!!

Spray bottle isn't working? Persist. Make it the only punishment, do nothing else, no yelling, threatening gestures, nothing else, and it'll carry more weight. Also try for some kind of positive reinforcement as well when the cat is being good.

I've been reading the forums for a good long while now and there is really no patern to upgrades other than maybe they want to open up specific cabins onboard the ship, dunno. But that is how it works, someone higher up vacates, someone wants the lower one so people get upgraded.
