Hi Everyone!

Thanks everyone for posting (or re-posting as the case) may be your info about yourselves! I hope I can get everything straight!

I know we are at the 90 day mark so I have to decide on which room arrangements we should keep (cat 3 #8048 w/murphy in bedroom but I would prefer to have aft cabin cat 3 or murphy bed in living room instead or go simply with the inside/veranda cabin combo on deck 6..... You see we are going to have our vows renewed on board the Magic (1 of only 2 allowed on board!) I was trying to surprise my dh but to know avail so I booked the REAS and I finally told him what I was thinking of doing - but it turns out HE booked the vow renewal 6 MONTHS AGO and pulled the paperwork out of his car to prove it!!!

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc He was trying to surprise me! Well, now the cat is out of the bag so to speak so now the whole family is planning our ceremony, from what to wear to the cake etc...

Just thought I would share my good news - we've been married for 21 years and dh thought this was a great present for me/us as I've always dreamed of having our vows renewed at Disney!!

Any ideas or imput would be most welcomed (especially on the cabin decision making and imput on the ceremony) to make this an even more special occasion!

Thanks and have a great day!!

Looks like I'm the only one up this late.....we got back a bit ago, and I was catching up on my mail. Sorry I missed everyone...Mark, I loved your "story"!

Melissa...Congrats on the vow renewal....the other couple also post on this thread! And there just may be a 3rd vow renewal...I have someone working on it for me. We'll know by the end of the first week in October. The Captain only wants to do two...that's the limit on the normal Magic cruises, but my friend at FairyTale Weddings is going to meet with Management the 1st week in October and one thing she's bringing up is the fact that there are more days at sea on the 10 & 14 day cruises. DCL could be making more money. I hope they go for it, I really have had my heart set on it, we didn't have a "real" wedding.
He booked six months ago? He must have gotten really lucky and called right after someone cancelled, because I called in January and was told they already had the two renewals booked. She said they would put me on a list if anyone cancelled. You were VERY lucky, indeed!
Don't know what to tell you about the staterooms. I think there are only four of the Cat 3's with the murphy bed in the living room...my bet is that whoever has those is not going to let go of them. Do you have the Cat 3 and the 6's both booked, and just trying to decide?
We have 8602, Cat 3 aft....DD is 14, DS is 11....we are going to bring an air mattress for DS to sleep on, as they do not want to sleep together.
We originally had two connecting Cat 5's.....that wouldn't have been too bad, but my DH is happier now that our teen daughter will be in the same room as we are, and he'll know when she comes in at night. I don't think I would want my kids across the hall from us....
Anyway...just my thoughts. I guess I'd take the Cat 3, maybe if only for the concierge service.

:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Blessed Sunday morning everyone!

Well I see the smilie king was at it after I went to bed last night :D He's got a whole collection of them and since he visits a number of boards is always looking for more. :D

We've changed our plans to go to the Museum of Science and Industry today. Found out that Monday is one of thier free days and so will be a lot more crowded. We'll tape the Nascar race and watch that when we get home.

Well off to church and then to the museum. Have a great day everyone!

Happy Sunday everyone. I thought I'd check in before getting everyone up and moving for church.

We survived the storms. Boy they were really something, huh Tina. Believe it or not, we never lost power or the satellite, which is very odd, because we usually lose both at the drop of a hat! I think we had 40 mph gusts!

DS was supposed to be on a fishing campout with the boy scouts. They decided to slide it a week, which really bummed him out. Next Saturday is his Bday party, and he was thinking that it messed that up. We always have his party after school starts so that 1) he gets a better turnout, 2) he can invite his new friends, since we have so much turnover every school year with the military transfers, 3) he gets a 2nd shot of birthday. It's usually sometime like this weekend, but since we were going to be in Hershey, I booked it for next weekend. Once Hershey was off our books, the theater was taken for this weekend, so I just left it where it was. Anyway, his party is over at 3, and the fishing thing starts about 3:30, and they're both on base, so I'll just drive him over.

Yesterday was spent finishing up on the house cleaning. We've probably gotten rid of two full truckloads of STUFF. Real estate values in our area have gone up an unbelievable amount since we bought our house (mid 2000), so DH has a wild hair that we should sell this house and move to one with a basement. I keep trying to explain that 1) I really DON'T want to move! We've moved 9 times in the 14 years we've been married, and that includes 5 years in our 1st house and 4 years here, so there were a lot of quick moves in there! and 2) Since prices are so high, we'd have to pay that for anyplace we'd move into. Anyway, he still wants to consider it, so we're having the realtor who sold us this house come out and do an market assessment today. After that, we'll run the numbers and see what they say. Who know, maybe we'll fit in a house move before the cruise, huh? As if I wasn't busy enough!

Talked to my in-laws last night. Mom took Dad suit shopping, and was very happy with what they got at Penneys. She said "He cleans up really nice!" They didn't find a nice blazer, so he'll be the one in a dress shirt and tie most nights besides formal/semi-formal. I told her it was no big deal. He has a cardiac cath scheduled for bright and early Tuesday morning to see if he has any blockages which might be causing his heart problems, so any prayers would be greatly appreciated!

I'm going on travel Monday, and won't be back til Wed afternoon, so I won't be posting. I'll check in before I leave the office Monday though.

Hope you all have a great Sunday. Mark/Mary: enjoy the museum. Sounds like you've been having fun.

Lisa

Happy Sunday everyone.

Melissa, where do you live in NJ?? We have very close friends who live in Haworth not to far from Riverside Square mall and other close friends in the Clifton area. That is so nice that you all are getting re-married. How romantic.

Stacey, I will throw some pixie dust your way that you also get to get re-married.

It looks to be a very nice cool day on Long Island.

We hope to have a very relaxing day today and family over for dinner tonight. Next Sunday my in laws will be going back to Boynton Beach, Fl. to be snow birds till the end of May. Boo Hoo!!! We will miss them terribly!!! The children will be so surprised when they show up in Disney with us for pre cruise fun!!

Have a great day everyone.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
How sweet!

I mentioned the REAS package to my dh and when I got to massage he screwed up his face. When I got to "special turndown service with rose petals" he said "with the KIDS?"

Good Morning Everyone

It's 6:30am on the West Coast and I just got off the phone with the DCL excursion desk. The excursions are open for our cruise!

Here is what I was told this morning. Excursions can be booked 90 days in advance. The computer system is setup to allow that. I was told that it didn't matter if you paid in full or not - but who knows if that is true because we are already paid in full.

I asked about the 90 day and 75 day issue that Staci talked about yesterday and I was told that the new final payment dates for new cruises are - Cat 1 - 3 pay in full 90 days out, Cat 4 -12 pay in ful 75 days out. It appears that the 90 and 75 day rules only apply to payments and not booking excursions.

Bottom line here is that I was able to book all the excursions this morning. Now, some excursions were not in the system correctly so the person had to get on the phone and call someone about them, and they said that they are still not 100% certain what is going to open in St. Thomas because of Xmas day but to book things anyway.

Like I said, the excursions are open so go get them now!

Ken (up early and ready to go!)

If anyone is interested -
Here is what I booked this morning.

Key West - Back to Nature Kayak Tour - 12:15 meeting time
St. Maarten - Shipwreck Cove Snorkel Tour - 1:00
St. Lucia - Caribbean Pirate Extravaganza - 9:00
Antigua - Off Road 4 x 4 Jeep Adventure - 8:00
St. Thomas - Atlantis Submarine - 9:15
Castaway Cay - The Wild Side (for DD Staci) - 9:00

Good Luck and happy excursion hunting!
Ken (can I go back to bed now?)

Cool, Thanks!

We're also going for Shipwreck Cove, and Carribbean Pirate.

Key West - Trolleys, get tix here, better price: http://www.historictours.com/keywest/

Antigua - Stingray Swim & Snorkel

St Thomas - We're doing Coral World and Sea Trekkin (booked ourselves)

CC - the jetski tour.

MarkRG

We are going to do the Castaway Jet Ski tour also, but we are saving that for the May Repo cruise when we don't have our DD with us.

Ken

We're getting static about booking the Shipwreck and Pirate too. Who did you talk to Ken?

I talked to Jan. She had to call someone to have it put in the system. She said she got it all sorted out. She read back all the reservations. So it appears that they are having some issues but if you get a CM who is willing to work through it, hopefully it will work.

Ken

Ken,

Thank you so much for the heads up, the number, and letting us know to push the issue.

He first kept telling me that they must be sold out because they weren't showing up, but when I pushed (gently) he was able to book us.

Here is what we booked this morningL

St. Martin - Shipwreck Cove Snorkel Tour @ 1 pm

St. Lucia - Caribbean Pirate Extravaganza @ 9 am

Antiqua - Stingray Swin & Snorkel Adventure @ 8 am

Castaway Cay- Jet Skis @ 10:30 am

As Mark said we are doing Key West and St. Thomas on our own.

Yeah!

To everyone else - as Ken said not everything is showing up in the system so be patient and ask them to double check (that gentle push). Going into my office this morning to pick up our faxed confirmation! :cheer2:

Thanks Ken. We talked to Tim and had the same problem, but he read them all back to me and is going to fax over a confirmation.

Looks like we'll be with your guys in St. Martin and St. Lucia! Should be fun!

Looking forward to the cruise and the excursions. Should be fun. I'm off for my morning bicycle ride - good luck to everyone, hope you get the excursions you want!

Ken

UPDATE ON EXCURSIONS

I just got off the phone with Tim at DCL and they are now telling everyone to call tomorrow. Apparently, they are having some problems so they are requesting that people call tomorrow morning when the excursion person comes in. They took your reservations Mark & Mary, and Ken, but he said they are even holding them until tomorrow and they will not take anything from anyone else.

So I will be calling first thing tomorrow morning.

Now, Good Sunday Morning Everyone!!!

Tina & Dee - After speaking to Debbie at DCL several times I have gotten the same information that Mary has. As of right now DCL has not planned the theme nights for our cruise. I am planning on calling Debbie again this week to see if anything has been decided and I will let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Someone asked before about teens in the spa. From what I remember on our last cruise they have certain days(usually port days) that teens can reserve a package in the spa. The package was either a facial and manicure or facial and pedicure and I believe it cost $69. If I remember correctly they also have a ladies night in the spa. I am not sure what it is all about, but that might be fun with this group if anyone is interested.
