So that was you! I couldn't remember who wanted the Gruet wine. I think that can be arranged, but my husband might get concerned about the stalking part.

Well, officially it is coffee, tea, and alcohol. It is suggested that you don't drink soda pop with caffeine, but that's just what it is-a suggestion. If you are attending a church owned school (Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah for example) you can find Coke products at all the football games and such but they are only the caffeine free variety.

Many Mormons don't drink any caffeine at all, or try to limit their intake of it with soda pop.

As for our family, we drink coke, diet coke, dr. pepper, mtn. dew, and my DH likes Pepsi products, but he has adjusted to the Coke products since I do most of the shopping! Our DD has decided to try to limit her intake of soda pop (I think someone must have told her that soda pop and acne are connnected somehow), so she is into water right now!

Funny thing about Donny Osmond. Yep, I'm from that era too. The funny thing though is that when I "grew up" (if you could say that) I actually ended up working for the Osmonds for a number of years and one of my last production jobs I did was working with Donny for 12 weeks on Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He still is the best looking Osmond around!

Linda

:jester:

Linda - I'm crushed. You mean to tell me that at age 13 I didn't have to choose between Donny Osmond and Pepsi? :hyper:

Oh well I was never in his league anyway.

I did love him in Joseph. We saw it here in Chicago - great show!

Robert and I went to Chicago and saw the show on New Year's Eve right before it ended. We loved the show. In fact, it is one of my favorites. I love Elvis! That was one of my favorite parts of the show!

A few random thoughts if you will:

1) The posting guidelines for the DIS can be found here Posting Guidelines Yes personal messages are a no-no. I think they are a little less strict here on the meets board because this is supposed to be about interacting between people.

2) When someone is banned the #1 rule is that you don't talk about it in a public forum. If you have a question about a banning you bring it to a mod or a webmaster. Any post I've ever seen discussing banning is usually deleated.

3) I've never heard of anyone being banned without being given a warning first. Remember that these boards are huge and you may only see a few things that person posts. They could be breaking any one of a number of guidelines. I've seen people banned who I didn't think should be and I've seen people not be banned that I think should have been banned long ago. Bottom line is that this is a privately owned board - he who runs the board makes the rules. Enough said on that.

4) On a lighter note. Orlando Bloom - yum!

:rotfl: :rotfl: Yes, let's do! The last time I talked to the Capt he didn't have much of a sense of humor, so that should go over really well!!! :p

Hey.....I drive a YukonXL...doesn't that count as manuevering a large vessel??

Hi everyone WOW is right I read quite a bit of the posts last night but fell asleep before I had a chance to post. It has taken over an hour to finish the posts from last evening and today. you guys are really trying to reach that 10,000 post goal.

can I have a turn? please please please!!! (although I had trouble with the 24' boat on our lake) Everyone will just have to be ready with life jackets in hand since there are not any seat belts on the ship.

OM where exactly is this safari? It sounds like a fun place to go.

I liked the question about when you would have liked to live. I don't think I would change unless I could go forward. I really liked being a teen in the late 70's. I was a little too young to be influenced by the "sex, & drugs" of that era:crazy: . I like reading historical novels but don't think I would have liked all of the manual labor they had to do. I love horses but... not for my everyday transportation. I did like Mary's answer though.

Who asked the dog food question. We always used Eukanuba for ours but she was a small dog and didn't eat that much.

I have a DD princess: we need to add to the watch list. She will be just shy of 17 and thinks she knows more than the rest of the world. We might need to watch the DS if he is with any of your DD's he will be 15, 6' and girl crazy. (though he is not Brad or Orlando,):cool1:

I look forward to learning more about our culturally diverse group.

Well I finally caught up on all of todays postings. I hope we didn't run anyone off. Rest assured if anyone is offensive it's me!

Well I'm exhausted from all this reading so I'm off to exercise!

Speaking of kids and adding your DS to the list I have to share our little story from last night:

DD (jamie-12) sings/dances in a performing group here in Salt Lake. This year she has a duet with 13 year old boy that she has liked for a long time (and I think he kinda likes her too).

Anyway, last night they had to go sing this song "The Happening" from the 70's for an audition for a show that is next month called "The Best of Utah".

Went to audition and then headed over to second audition (all four parents and the two kids). After second audition we all went to dinner and had Chinese food. After dinner we drove back over to the place where the audition had been. It was about 9:30 at night, sun had set and was getting dark. The building was next to the ballfield and there was a baseball game going on. Well, we (the parents of these two lovely children) were talking and talking and DD and "boy" walked over to the ballfield and sat on one of those parking spot concrete things that your car hits if you drive into the spot too fast or too close.

The boy's dad said "Oh look, isn't that cute, there they are sitting and watching the game and all you can see is the outline of them sitting, too bad we don't have a camera, that would make a cute picture". Now we are about 50-75 yards away from them when his dad is saying this, when all of a sudden boy puts his arm around our daughter and starts giving her a little hug! His dad starts yelling across the parking lot "Hey, that's not okay, none of that!"

It was pretty funny. In one second "Oh isn't that cute" to basically "Take your paws off her". We got a good laugh out of that. Of course, 12 year old DD was in seventh heaven all night.
The 13 year old boy, well his voice is changing and I think the hormones are kicking in. I'm sure he had quite a night also!!!!

There you go, that is why the DD needs to be on the "MOST WANTED" list on the ship!!!!

I asked for that. We're looking for a premium food b/c our breed of dog has a higher incidence of cancer so we want to give it something with antioxidants and extra supplements. Right now the top contenders are "Premium Edge" "Old Mother Hubbard Wellness" "Drs. Foster and Smith" and "Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul."

Whereas our cat eats Purina Cat Chow. :)

wow. two TOP's in a row without even trying. That makes a TOP even MORE special!!

He is such a cutie too, and very nice to boot.
Mom and dad should be proud of him. I think I have to keep DD away from him in a couple of weeks. He is her type, tall, nice and a bit older.

congrats on the 2 TOPs
I couldn't remember who had origanilly asked the question about the food. I hope whatever brand you choose it is successful at keeping your dog healthy.

Our kids won't stand a chance of getting into any trouble with all of us watching out for them. ( Barb thanks for the DS compliment) :magnify: :love1: :magnify:

Virgil I think if you plan the trip your DW will follow - after all I'm joining the fun.
We will be there the 5th -10th. I made rtn flight for Tuesday not Monday as I had intended, just one wrong click of the mouse oh well, who's complaining about an extra disney day? Not me!!!

Have a great Friday!!!!!

Vicki

Good job Vicki! The more time in WDW the better! Your son doesn't have to look like a movie star to give our girls fits. All he has to do is be male, I think. I think dancing might make him very popular too. Better warn him.

Linda, maybe you could arrange for that boy to ask your DD to "go steady" before you leave for the cruise. That would keep her out of trouble!

That is funny Diana, I had the same thought about DD. If she had a boyfriend I might have just a bit less to worry about with her on the cruise.

Vicki, bring him with you to Adventurer's Club, OK? He can meet one of the Terrible Trio.

Diana - I read that post this afternoon. I think I would have been very, very scared on that flight.
