Did i say Jophias birthday? der.. I meant anniversary!

Tonight we were celebrating Jophias wedding anniversary at one of their favorite spots and a new restaurant to us, Grand Floridian Cafe! We were also going to meet some new to us Disers, Mary and Chuck!

We arrived and bob dropped us off and he parked the car. Anyone else hate the parking at GF?

We checked in a few minutes early and noticed that restaurant was completely empty.

As we waited another Diser (I forget your name, im sorry! Roo, I think?) recognized me from my PTR and came up to say hi! That was pretty cool! Thanks again and lovely to have met you!

Finally at 7:15 we were seated for 6:45 ressie! Remember it was very empty too! GRRR!

All in all I don't have much written, but I have this great pic of Joe

OK, so service here STUNK and the food wasn't great at all. Everything took forever and poor Jophia were so disappointed. They had loved GFC the prior year and had talked it up. It made me want to yell at the slow waitress!

With that said, the company was great and Sophia ordered a beautiful cake!

and WOW a group photo!!

and sadly, we brought this beautiful stuff back to the resort and it never got eaten!

Funny story, once again Sophia forgot how big the vcakes were, so she ended up handing out cake to other diners lol!

It was quite funny to see, and this paints the picture of just how empty it was!

We will not be returning here, but are thankful to have had a nice night with great friends!

a day off from the parks! CRAZY talk! But alas that was today's plan! I mean after over a week of go go go, Bob deserved a break!

With that said, we were all still up at 8 am! I woke up in a not so great mood, actually we all woke up grumpy! I think exhaustion was starting to kick in!

While everyone was laying around, I decided to head to concierge, and fill my mug and took some pics!

when i got back to the room everyone had agreed that they wanted to go to DTD and get some lunch and then come back to the resort and swim. OK!

When we got to DTD EOS and WPE were packed.... I knew that the EOS line would fly, but moods weren't great, so i didn't push it. We decided at that moment to try a new place! Raglan Road.

When we made our way there it was empty and we got a table immediately!

First thing I noticed was just how dark it is in there and I could see it being overly loud at night with jig dancers and such. Also, service was terribly slow :/

For some reason, I got mad with Bob during lunch...

here is my attempt at faking happy

I wish I could remember why I was mad.. but man after all these made days, i am proud of how far we have come!

The food at RR was pretty good, especially considering i never ever wanted to eat here! A bit on the heavy side though!

Scallop Forest - Georges Bank scallops in a a golden batter served with citrus lime dipping sauce and sweet chili jam $14 These were yum!

Sweet & Spicy Guinness Glazed Wings - chicken wings tossed in a Guinness BBQ sauce and served with herb ranch dressing $10 From what i recall, Bob loved these!

Sod the Stew - beef stew infused with a hint of Guinness $15 Bob loved this too!

Fish & Chips - our famous beer battered fish & chips with fresh tartar sauce (gluten free option available) $17 I did NOT love this :/ It was heavy and just not good .

Ger's Bread & Butter Pudding - Like no other pudding you have ever tried. Believe us $8 Worth the trip there! This was SO yummy, but SOOOOOOOOOO heavy!


So to add insult to injury (bob and i fighting AGAIN, 2hour lunch) when we left it started POURING! We attempted waiting it out, but it was not stopping! Finally we decided to make a run for the buses. Of course a POFQ just left.. oh yeah, we took the boat to DTD... DOH! The boats don't run during the rain! Finally we got a bus and what a miserable, wet and cold trip back to the room it was!

When we got back we all decided to just chill! bob and I napped, and the kids watched tv/napped.

We woke up about 4:30 and from what I can recall we were in better moods.

I was excited as tonight was our Cali Grill ressie and a BIG surprise for the kids!

We got ready, headed out and made our way to CG. The check in process is interesting I have noted..... I don''t quite recall it now, but i do recall taking a snazzy elevator up to CG! We had some time to kill when we got up tehre, so we headed out on the roof and took in the view of the MK! Breathetaking! loved loved loved it!

Shortly after that we were seated right by the waiting area.. not a desirable table, but i was hungry and anything was fine! We alos could sort of see the castle, ha!

and there was a bride this night! I was jealous lol!

Our server was a female and not desirable again :/ She just didn't seemed as if she was there to be fancy but bleh...

the food however was fancy and YUM!!

Cheese board- YUM YUM YUM! this was Bobs but so yummy!

I got this : Braised Pork - Adobo, black beans, red onions, queso fresco, tomatillo-nopales pico de gallo $13 No pic, but yum! A bit on the spicy side for me.

Oak-fired Filet of Beef - horseradish whipped potatoes, heirloom baby rainbow carrots, teriyaki barbecue $47 This was Bobs dish and I didn't care much for the oak fired taste, he loved it! But said Le Cellier was better ..woah!

Grilled Pork Tenderloin - with Goat Cheese Polenta, Roasted Mushrooms, Zinfandel Glaze, and Sage $37 This was NOMS! loved loved loved t!

Kayla loved this! declared it best mac and cheese on wdw property!

I have no Jack picture, so I'm guessing he had the same? or the steak? Lol.. hes not a picky eater, so I'm sure he loved whatever it was!

The real star of the evening was dessert, and the kids dessert at that! Kayla had been waiting for months to have this :

SUSHI!

The kids loved this and thought it was hilarious! Kayla STILL talks about it!

Some sort of creme brulee. Bob loved it!

Bananas and Caramel - Crispy baked phyllo squares layered w/banana, caramel, mascarpone mousse, and caramelized banana $12
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! this was SO NOMS!

Dinner was so nice, and I REALLY loved it here! After reading on and off reviews, i was scared! I rate it top notch though!

After dinner was done we had a BIG surprise for the kids who thought today was a no park, just relax kinda day... only if they knew!

No apology necessary and it was really nice to meet you as well. Aww I'm sad you didn't have a good meal at GFC. We loved our meal and had great service. I wonder if we had the same waitress??? That cake looked so delicious... I wanna to order a cake for DD 3rd Bday.

Loved the pix og POFQ, never stayed there but it is on my "If I ever didn't stay at Pop " list, is actually the only mod I like !! See I don't like big spread out resorts , sooo not much for me to pick!!

Raglan Road ids a must do for me !!I love it there. I howeber have not had the Fish & Chips yet, alot of my favs are not on the menu anymore but I still go for the desserts, Ger's is great but you are right it is very filling !! Our favorite is the raspberry dessert

After a wonderful dinner at California Grill we had a sneaky surprise up our sleeves for the kids!

I was SOOO excited about this, and never told the kids! If you know me, you know that it was hard for me to do that!

When we got there and checked in we received bandanas for all of us and told the doors would open soon. I asked the guy, hey, can you have my kid be the flag holder? He laughed at me and said, sorry, that is picked randomly ahead of time :/ BOO! But hey, it was worth a shot!

Then all of a sudden these guys came out:

Say hello to Patch AND Patch! I preferred Patch.

Once they came out, we were led into a room where there were a ton of snacks, water, soda, and juice. We were encouraged to take as much as we wanted. We were stuffed from dinner, but I took a TON of snacks! Hey, they pushed it on us, so I took it for later days and the car ride (I was happy I did later on). By the way, the selection was much nicer than I had heard. There were brownies, cookies, cereal bars, chips, pretzels, rice krispie treats.. lots of stuff!

People had made a mad rush when we were let in for the Hook and Smee meet and greet... We were last pretty much lol! and I didn't get a great pic either.. I did feel a bit rushed on that.. my only complaint!

Once we were done with them we still had some more time before heading out. the kids were looking at all the CM's pins and Jack wanted to trade, but I had forgotten his lanyard back at the resort. I explained how trading worked to 5 year old him for the billionth time and said sorry , but you don't have any pins with you. The sweet CM said it's OK and let each kid pick a pin! Pixie dust? I think so!

Shortly after that, patch and patch told us to all line up with whichever team we had been assigned to. (You get Smee or Hook when you arrive)

We were team Smee!

Hooks side was called first, and then ours! We were at the head of the line and good thing we were, when Patch announced the Flag carrier it was Kayla!

I nearly crapped my pants in excitement! I honestly don't know if I had a better Disney pixie dust moment! Pure joy was running through my veins and I was SO happy for my kids to have that experience, especially Kayla who was still young enough to totally appreciate it! I'm convinced the guy at the front saw how excited i was and marked her name when I asked at check in... if so, thank you sweet man!

I'll stop here to tell you, our Pirate Patch was the hands down winner when it came to personality! This guy was outstanding at his job, and really made the whole night! he even knew the town we live in!

Once we got to the end of the dock, patch took the flag back and it was time for us to load onto our pirate ship!

Hook and Smee do not go with you on this part of your trip... something to know if you are thinking about doing this.
