How does it work?

I have 4 days left on my non expiring tickets. I did a bounced back which required me to buy 2 day tickets with the package.

I want to use my 2 day tickets (park hoppers) for the 2 days we are hopping.

Will my MB know which tickets to use first?

Your MB will not know which tickets to pull automatically. I have non-expires, but have also used other ticket media throughout this year. Whenever I want to use the other tickets (in your case, the 2-day hopper with your package), I "deactivate" the non-expire in my ME account so the only "active" ticket on my MB is the other ticket I currently have. This is your safest bet in using the tickets you want each day.

My suggestion, deactivate the non-expire on the days you want to use the 2-day hopper and then reactivate the non-expire when you want to use it again (same goes for 2-day hopper - activate and deactivate when you don't want to use it) If you are unsure if you did it properly, call Disney IT or stop at guest relations before you enter the park to make sure the right ticket will be pulled when you enter.

I had a major debacle with "prioritizing" tickets earlier this year and it didn't work - the wrong ticket was pulled and, while Disney corrected the mistake, it took an hour and a half to resolve the situation. Try the deactivate/activate strategy and always double check BEFORE you enter the park that the ticket you want to be pulled, will be!

You may want to hold on to those no expire tickets a little longer. They are only going to increase in value. right now, it's not worth the hassle.

I agree with the PP, in that I too had a headache with having two tickets listed under my name in the MDE system. It just happened that I went to guest services. Otherwise I would have been out that other ticket.

For now, the system is too quirky. If I were you, for now, while the system is still in beta phase- I'd use just one ticket per trip.

If you really want to use two, then I'd request the plastic cards over Magicbands for park admission. OR if you really want to use magicbands in the parks, maybe prioritize one of ticket on the magicband, combined with using a plastic card for the other ticket.

But I am willing to bet, using two tickets will end up leading to an hour long detour to guest services somehow.

Where on MDE can you deactivate a ticket? Is this only on the desktop version? I was told the only way was to prioritize with a CM at guest relations and I'm nervous about the whole situation! lol Thank you!

Sure would be nice if their system allowed us to prioritize passes. My dd had an expiring 7 day hopper. We decided to add a few days at the end of our stay. A friend gave me two CM 1 day park hoppers, but they expired on June 8...we left on June 10. So, I figured the system would pick that up and use them first..it didn't. When we tried to enter MK on the 9th, dd wasn't allowed to enter!!! A nice CM came over immediately and took us to a kiosk area, where they found the issue. When I explained that we had obviously covered all our bases, the CM explained that they system sometimes just stacks those one day passes....they see it as one, not the correct number. They fixed it so that my dd could get into the parks that last day. But, it took a fair amount of time to get it done.

Thanks Marthasor and MickeyLuv'r.

Ugh...sounds like a major hassle. We are going for 5 days, so I will need to use the NE tickets for 3 of our days.

Thanks for the solution options. I do not know what I will do, yet. But, at least I now know that I need to plan for a headache.

I am having the same issue!!! I have old NE tickets, and i got a steal on tickets from orbitz, so Id like to use those first. I was also told by a CM that the only way to make sure the new orbitz tickets are pulled is to go by guest relations that day and prioritize them. She said she could not do it over the phone. Not cool. Thats just what I want to do on vacation.... wait in line to get something silly fixed, that should be able to be fixed ahead of time on the phone. Grrrr!!

I'd upgrade your 2-day park hoppers to 5 days and then keep your non-expiring for a trip that's 4 days or less.

Kidsgobears: I would love to do that but I do not think that I could swing the extra costs right now.

Lacey: That's just annoying to go to Guest relations everyday. Can the concierge at the hotel do it?

I'm not sure what I will do at this time.

I would just use the actual ticket card for park entrance of the ticket you want counted that day and then use your my for fp+. That's my plan anyway for dh who has one two day hopper and two one day hoppers.

I actually called Disney twice, b/c I just couldnt believe that there was no way they could prioritize the tickets over the phone. In my case, my old tickets were on Keys to the world cards. Apparently, when I linked them on MDE, they are not "on the card" anymore, and can not be moved "back" to the card, even though I still physically have the card. The CM said if she unlinked them, they would be gone forever.

But from what I understood, however I did not ask this exactly, is that it should only require ONE visit to GR. I told the CM I really didnt want to wait at GR our first day b/c we wanted to see Rope Drop at MK. The CM asked when we would be in orlando, and suggested we go to GR at DTD the night before we plan to go to the parks. So I took that to mean it would only take that one visit for the week.

My question is this though.... if over the phone, she said my old NE tickets would be gone forever if she unlinked them on MDE.... what the in the world will they do differently at the parks?! :confused3

Do your darndest to scare up money to upgrade your new 2 day tickets to your 5 days and leave the partially used non-expiring tickets at home. The upgrade will cost about $125. apiece. Which means that you will extract no more than $125. of value from the non-expiring ticket if you use that for the remaining 3 days.

Whereas you surely have a lot more than $125. still invested in each partially used non-expiring ticket. Used for a future separate 4 day (only) vacation you will extract about $313. of value.
