Currently I have 2 rooms (at POP) for a family of 5 in Nov 2006 (room only). Myself, DH and DD in one room(A). MIL and DD in another room(B). I had to book 2 separate reservations because of a change from reg. season(2 nights) to value(7nights). Both rooms are listed together on both of the reservations.
Here's my question. Can I book a package with dining for 3 on only one of the rooms (room A) for the 7nights only? Hopefully this question is not too confusing. Thanks for your help.

Yes, you can get dining for one room just for the 7 night portion. The problem is that you need to have tickets associated with the room ressie in order to get dining. So if the 2 nights come first, unless you have old tickets to use, you won't have admission (or you will have to buy a 2 day pass than a 7 which may defeat the savings of dining).

The other option is to see what the extra cost is for the room for 9 nights, it may be cheaper than the split ticket option.

Sorry it isn't easier.

Thanks for the reply. Since we only plan to visit the parks maybe 6 days at the most it is not a problem. Couldn't I just get 1 day park tickets attached to the package and pick up another 5 day ticket(or more) through ticketmania? My main concern was since I would book through AAA how the reservation would turn out. 1) 2 rooms for 2 nights room only. 2) 2 rooms for 7nights but only one would have a package w/ dining and one would be room only. 3) Would they still be able to be consecutive reservations and request connecting rooms or at least adjoining rooms. 4) If they would allow only self, DH, and DD on the package w/ dining since my other DD would be staying in the other room with my MIL. My MIL has old park tickets to use and doesn't want dining and the DD staying with her is 13 but sometimes eats off the kids menu. Thanks again.

basically, yes, yes, yes & yes.

I would wait on buying ticketmania tickets. The number of park days on the hopper does not have to equate to number of nights. Depending what deals may come along a 3 or 4 day may offer a special combines with the obvious need than with the package (in other words, you aren't going for a while, don't tie yourself into a ticketmania ticket yet IMHO) you can always change number of ticket days on a package.

A good TA should be able to articulate your room requests. I would also ask your TA to follow up before departure (I generally find that helps my clients with more complex requests)

Each room is a "stand alone" so you are fine for DD and MIL not to have tickets and dining.

Hope this helped,
Happy travels
