1. Has anyone recently reserved with Alamo at MCO and added a spouse with or without an additional charge. NOT COSTCO (awesome advice here but COSTCO is not an option for us)
2. Anyone had experience adding a spouse midway and what was charged (all contract days like Dining Plan) or just the days forward?
I now know that AVIS has the most flexibility - spouse does not need to go to counter. Their rates must have this build in because when you click from initial screen to final screen - rate jumps ~130+ whereas the other companies didn't do that. The other rates were what was quoted on the screen.
After reading through the corporate website - Alamo is very loosey-goosey about when, where and if they will charge for additional drivers. In my mind, that means be prepared to pay $15/day but hope for better.
I can't find any National rate that is reasonable - even when compared to potentially paying +$15/day (12 day rental) at Alamo for spouse. I don't understand how they stay in business at their rates.
