2 Knuckleheads & A Pregnant Lady - Part 2 - 3/3/02
Knucklehead Sr. - My husband Chris 27
Knucklehead Jr. - My daughter Moira 4 1/2
Pregnant Lady - Me Bridget 26
I'm just going to skip over breakfast today because it's MGM day!! WooHooo!! Breakfast pales in comparison.
This is my favorite park!! We didn't spend as much time here as I would have liked but we pretty much got everything done in 1 day which is odd for us. We usually spend at least a day and a half here.
We walked in and headed straight towards ToT and RnRC fully expecting a 45 minute wait as we were far from making it there at park opening. What is this? A 10 minute wait??? We decided to grab a fast pass at RnRC because there would probably be more of a wait there. Only 20 minutes but what the heck. Chris & Mo rode ToT while I waited for them in the photo area. I'm sure the ride was exciting but I can't personally comment on it. I can say, however, that the waiting area is very cool & comfortable for those waiting.
I should probably explain that I'm a thrill ride JUNKIE and this is my first trip to any sort of park where I couldn't ride the thrill rides. I truly did enjoy a whole different aspect to the parks though that I never appreciated much before. I really enjoyed just the atmosphere of everything around me...of course, you wouldn't believe me if you had seen me crying in Tommorrowland on our last day because Knucklehead Jr. & Sr. were bonding without me. I'll save that tidbit for later though & we'll blame it *all* on hormones. *laugh*
After ToT my husband rode RnRC while my daughter and I shared a Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich. Mmmmmmm! Next up were Voyage of the Little Mermaid & Playhouse Disney! I cried at the end of Little Mermaid when Ariel & Eric kissed...let's also blame that on hormones. I think my husband is starting to question my sanity at this point. Although, when I was pregnant with my daughter I threatened to leave him because he went through the 12 items or less lane with more than 12 items.
But, I digress...
The new Playhouse Disney show was great but they spew these bubbles out during the show. Bubbles are great but with the bubbles came globs and squirts of pure soapy water!! Fix the bubble machine already!! :rolleyes I'm a piglet fan though so it was great to see piglet in the show. We strolled down and walked right onto Who Wants To Be A Millionare! It was fun but would have been better if I had been in the hotseat of course.
Lunchtime! We probably wasted a good hour deciding where to have lunch and finally decided on the Sci-Fi Dine-In. I *loved* the atmosphere! Mo had fallen asleep in her stroller right before we walked in so most of the meal was very relaxed. I've read several times about the food here and not to expect much beyond the burgers. I took the advice and got a burger, Chris got the prime rib sandwich. He said that it tasted like "dirty shoes". We loved the place but reminded ourselves to stick with the burgers next time we go because my burger was *very* yummy. The chocolate milkshake was pretty yummy too!
After we walked out of the restaurant we ran into Mike & Sully from Monsters, Inc. so we got in line to meet them. It was so funny because Mo immediately ran up to Sully to give him a hug and Mike acted all mad and stomped away. The attendant said "they always go straight for Sully" with a smile. Mo turned around and gave Mike's leg a big hug as well then they all posed for a picture. They didn't sign autographs because of their hands but when we met Bullseye, he had an attendant stamping his signature so I was surprised they weren't doing something like that. Just meeting them was more than enough for my daughter though.
We walked over to Star Tours and the knuckleheads rode that while I found myself yet another inviting bench near the exit. They pretty much walked right onto Star Tours as well. We skipped Honey I Shrunk The Kids playground this time because I am a psycho worrisome parent and I usually follow her around in there to keep an eye on her. I wasn't doing that pregnant and my husband isn't big on crawling through it either. She never asked about it so we figured we'd just bypass it. We walked right on the Backlot Tour and enjoyed that as usual. We then started to make our way back to the front of the park to get ready for Fantasmic and stopped at the Great Movie Ride. We walked right on this one too! I *almost* started crying at the end when you see all the movie clips but I controlled myself this time.
We then headed up to Fantasmic to make sure we got there in time. We got there an hour early and we were in Jafar (I think) all the way out! I think there were only 2 more sections beyond us and those filled up in no time. We bought a few cokes & some popcorn then taught our daughter how to do the "wave" that kept flowing through the stands. She was catching on but still didn't stand up until everyone else was sitting down in our section. LOL You would hear the whole section go "WOOOO" and then a little "woo" 10 seconds later.
After Fantasmic, we took our time on the way out and stopped in the candy store. I bought a stick of chocolate covered marshmallows (MMMM!!!!), my daughter got the giant lollipop she had been talking about for weeks before the trip, my husband got the chocolate covered mint cookie gems, and I bought Mo a pirate sword she saw in the Villans store earlier.
It was a GREAT day!! We always have a great relaxing time while we are in MGM and I so love this park. So far, for a trip of benches & bathrooms..it's been fantastic (or should I say fantasmic?).
