Space 220 Lounge or Restaurant?

The lounge is an area inside the restaurant. The lounge has its own a la carte menu, or you can order from the prix fixe lunch and dinner menus. The restaurant tables are mostly closer to the "windows", but you have to order from the prix fixe menu at the time you're there.

Most people I know find the lounge a better value, but they still enjoyed the restaurant.

I was told you can no longer order food from the regular menu in the lounge. Is that untrue?
Haven't been since Nov but we asked the server and we could order from the Lounge Menu, do the full fixed price menu or order select items from the fixed price menu (meaning not everything on the fixed price was available and the server was able to tell us what was available for us to order).

Question about where they seat parties of two. For the restaurant, it looks like the tables next to the screens are for parties of 4 and that parties of two might be in the middle or next to the wall closest to the lounge. For the lounge, are parties of two seated near the bar? If so, for a party of two, would the view from the restaurant seats would be better than lounge seats?

We were a party of two at the lounge and had a delightful table with a fantastic view of space. My husband ordered the fixed price menu and I ordered an appetizer. Best of both worlds.

If you look at pictures the tables that are lower -lounge tables- are for the lounge. If it has not changed the entire section in front of the bar is lounge. There are also seats on the opposite side in the back which are raised up. the reaming is restaurant seating. It is very possible you will get a booth as the majority of tables on the other side of the booths are large for bigger groups. They can easily accommodate 10 maybe more.
I have never been to the lounge so I cannot comment. I will say if your diet or preference is not limited the menu is very fairly priced. If you plan on ordering a burger or pasta you will pay for the atmosphere however the portion will be very large to somewhat make up for the difference in normal cost of the menu items.

DH and I booked the lounge so that we’d have freedom of choice between the restaurant’s prix fixe menu or the lounge a la carte menu. This was within the first year that Space 220 was open. We were seated at a 2-top table on the upper level, near the bar, and we had a wonderful view of “space” through all of the “windows” that curve 180° around seating areas. It appeared to me that the restaurant tables on the lower level didn’t have as full a view due to being too close to the windows - some tables were right up next to them. It’s not a huge space, and I’d want to book the lounge if in a party of 4 or fewer.

Without a doubt I would choose the Lounge if you can get it. After spending $400 on the prix fix lunch meal and served appetizers my kids wouldn't eat I would definitely choose the less expensive option.

I was a party of one and there was a party of two next to me. I was at a high table on the upper area just to the left of where you enter. There is a banquette on one side (facing the screen) and chairs on the other side. If I recall the table wasn't that big, so I think it could only be for two or maybe three. I had a nice view of the entire place. This was not lounge seaging, but for the restaurant.

I can only answer for the restaurant. For a party of 2, we were seated in both lower and upper levels. Many of their tables can be joined or split to accommodate the party. Sometimes the table was right next to the rails, other times it was "free-standing" in the middle of the room.

Thanks. Do you know if you can request a table location?

I saw a report that they are recently only allowing ordering at the Lounge items from the limited Lounge menu. Has anyone been there in the last few weeks and can confirm or deny this report? I'm wondering if it was a one-off (potentially an uninformed cast member) or if they have changed their procedure. TIA!

I asked Disney via MDE chat because I probably saw the same report and they told me you can only eat off the lounge menu. However, we all know Disney chat is not always reliable.

Yeah, you are right, Disney chat will go with whatever is published. I'm hoping we can get some more reports from recent travelers.

So is there a walk up line?
wondering if Lunch would be better for walk up

In the past, walk up has been for bar seating only. Recent experience may be different. Reported wait times have been more than an hour

Don’t know whether the stand by function works in the app. However, some have reported success scoring a reservation by stopping by the checkin desk when it opens at 10:30 am.
