2/9/2013 - Fantasy Mardi Gras Cruise *****

I assume that you don't mean "What does FE mean?", because there's tons of info on FEs on disboards.

If you're wondering if anyone's interested in participating in FEs... I just did a quick search of this thread and I see 6 people saying they are "In"... and we'd love to do the FE thing again too!

So, the big question is... will anyone volunteer to organize them?

PhotoLisa is organizing the FE for the cruise. There are many participants in the FE.... (FE I believe stands for Fish Extender...a Fish hangs at our cabin doors)

FE is a gift exchange with other cruisers that opt in for the cruise....the items can be simple or whatever you want to do....can be one per cabin or one per person participating...you choose. You can search the boards for FE exchange and see what others have gotten on past cruises...It's up to you.

PHOTOLISA instructions are under POST #40. Hope to see you in the FE.

Hope this helps.

I have an inside room booked (11A) because I think we would get a kick out of the virtual porthole, but toying with the idea of a verandah - its not a lot different in price, but I can't find a cabin I like LOL. I don't like gty and want midship - nothing comes up - going to keep checking!

I also have an inside room booked because of the virtual porthole. I'm a bit nervous because we've never stayed in an inside room before. :scared1: Out of 7 cruises, we've only stayed in balcony cabins, except once we did an oceanview but that cruise had NO sea days.

Thanks for the heads up about the prices though. I may take a peek and see if I change my mind about an inside room. LOL!

Sorry, guys. We've decided to move our cruise up to December so we won't be joining you anymore. Hope you have a fantastic time!

I did it!!! I just upgraded to a 7A gty!!!! I NEED a verandah - have never had one but just have to have one - and leaving it in DCL's hands where they put me! Really, all I care is I am on the ship - after that I am good to go! On my past cruises the upgrade was going to cost me $700+ and I could never justify it, but it was only $348 to upgrade, and if I can't afford that we shouldn't be going anyway! hahaha Woohoo!!!!

Just hit me that we are also sailing on Valentines Day - I bet DCL does something neat that day!

Yeah! My husband, DS (15) ,DD (11) and I will be joining you on this cruise. It will be our 5th Disney cruise but our first on the Fantasy. We have been on the Magic, Wonder and Dream but are most excited about this cruise. This one will be even more special because we are cruising with friends! Can't wait to participate in FE again and plan a few excursions. So excited to be joining you!:goodvibes

Our kids will be thrilled to hear about more people their age on board! Our son is 15 and daughter is 12! :yay:

Welcome aboard Granandem. Good to see you on the board.

We can't wait...getting our stuff organized.

:woohoo:

That is great! My kids don't know about the cruise yet, but they will be so excited to make new friends. It has always been easier to make friends on the longer cruises than on the 4 night ones for my kids. It's going to be fun!

I am sure many of you are waiting for Disney World packages for February.
We are having a hard time deciding where to stay the 2 nights before our cruise. All 5 of us have a different opinion for different reasons.

I saw a PP staying at AoA. I loved that idea, but the family did not agree. (You know, Deluxe snobs!:rotfl2:)

What does every one do after the cruise? We will need to leave the next morning. I am thinking that we should just stay at the hotel we stay at the 2 nights before since there will not be much time to explore the resort. I would love to hear what others itineraries looks like.

After the cruise, we are spending 3 nights at AoA.
Did I miss anything? We just returned yesterday (no internet or cell phones :))from 11 days in Europe (our first trip to Europe). Exhausted from the time difference. I am at work today and washed all the laundry yesterday before I went to bed. Now I need a vacation to rest.

We will be joining you on this cruise in 2 staterooms. So far it will just be the 4 of us with my DM most likely joining us as well. I am really looking forward to this one.

Welcome aboard....

We are very excited to cruise again.

Greetings! My DH, DD (13 on cruise), and I are booked and totally excited. We've all cruised before, but this is our first Disney cruise. We just bought into DVC, so we're all set for our lifetime with Disney.:yay:

Not that we're not experienced Disney travelers. My family has been to WDW at least once every year for the past 20, and we made our first trip to DL this past October.

We're living the Disney Fantasy (pun intended).:rotfl:

I'm not ready to commit to meets or FE activities. My DH likes a cruise for the leisure and relaxation, so I'm thinking organized activities probably means too much structure. I'm inclined to agree.

I just wanted to check in and say that we are looking forward to kids' activities for my 'tween.

Tina
