2/9/2013 - Fantasy Mardi Gras Cruise *****

Wow, all the people from Estes Park. I love that area. In the mid 70's we used to vacation at a dude ranch in Allenspark. It was the Lazy H. We love that area.

What a Colorado crew! We are living in Loveland right now but will build on our land on Storm Mountain in Drake, halfway between Loveland and Estes, in the next year or so. Storm Mountain is somewhat legendary ;-) so you probably know exactly where I mean!

We really need to get together before the cruise! We go hiking in Rocky once or twice a week, so we're forever in Estes!

Very crazy about the Estes Park/Storm Mountain people! We love it here, but we have to have a break during the winter. It is not the cold, but the wind that really starts getting old for me.

I just told my DS14 this week that I have watched him play baseball in very kind of weather except a hurricane and tornado (although it has felt like it).
Just last week we had snow, wind, rain and sun in just one game!

Sorry to get off topic, but it is great to know there are other Disney cruise people close by.

Have a great rest of the weekend, I am off to church and going to enjoy the great sunny day.

Greetings from Louisiana! DH, Steve and I, Denise, are booked and traveling on this cruise with our friends from Ohio, pahrumpgirl, doug and Carol.

This will be my 12th Disney cruise and Steve's 11th (went once with my cousin).

We are staying a few nights pre-cruise in the Tree House Villas on our DVC points. Haven't tried them yet and looking forward to it.

We will be driving down and Doug and Carol will be flying in.

Steve and I went last January, toward the end of the month, on the Dream B2B and on the first part of our trip the waters were so rough that the captain could not dock at CC. The second part of the B2B, he docked and Steve snorkeled but I found the water a little too cold for my liking.

We stayed on St Thomas for a week with Doug and Carol so if you have any questions, I will be happy to try and answer them for you.

Hello to my fellow cruising Louisianians! Hello to everyone!

Hello all :)

My wife, daughter and I just booked this 7 night Fantasy cruise while aboard the Dream from May 6-10 2012. This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise. We also did the Dream in May 2011. We will be celebrating my daughter's birthday while on board. She turns 5 on 2/10. We are looking forward to trying the "newer" new ship that Disney offers!

Mommaluvsdis has already introduced us but thought I would say hi. :wave2: This will be my DH's and my 10th Disney Cruise with our last ones being a B2B on the Dream for its Maiden Voyage. After being on the Dream can't wait to see the Fantasy! :cool1:

Hi! We are so happy to be joining everyone on this cruise! It will be our 6th Disney cruise so we are excited to experience the perks of being "Gold"! We have done 3 7-night cruises on the Magic, the Mediterranean cruise on the Magic at this time last year and. 4 night on the Dream in Feb.2012. We are new DVC members and are staying at AKL before and after ( after staying there 6 times we thought it was time to commit!!).
We will have myself, my DH and son, Kieran (15) and daughter, Jenna (12).
Does anyone know details about the 5K they run on Castaway Cay? My son and I said we might do it next time......so I thought I should find out what's involved (other than getting up early!!). ;)

Hi Ginger. We r from Minnesota and went last feb same week. It was cold the day we left port but was nice the other days. We went swimming on CC. The water was initially cold but we got used to it after the initial shock. It was nice especially in the sun as long as we stayed in the water but it was cool right when we got out and then fine once we had a towel. It was warm enough air temp wise for everything else. I was comfy in swimsuit and no shirt most of the day. As I'm sure you know it WILL be warmer than home no matter what so it was all good.

Just reading old posts and realized that we were on that Dream cruise too! Since we are from Ottawa, Canada, we always find the weather better than at home! It was our 4th time at Castaway Cay in Feb. and while the water is always on the cool side, my kids have always swam. And we usually snorkel (but I have brought a shortie wet suit before).

We also like the Doubloon snorkeling tours in St. Thomas and may book with them again. Saw lots of great turtles last time!

Welcome, Mog's Mom!

We haven't run the 5K, but I've read about it here on the disboards - should be several threads.
I believe the runners typically meet up onboard, then are escorted to the starting area (I think it's near the bike rentals). Sometimes, certificates, and/or medals are given.

We're looking forward to our first experience being 'gold' on this cruise as well.

We also just booked this cruise Mardi Gras week. Can't wait:banana: It will be our second Disney cruise and our 10 cruise overall. Will be traveling with my husand and 2 sons, 17 and 13. Hope to see everyone.

Welcome pahrump girl, Mog's Mom & christmas....welcome aboard. We are so looking forward to cruising.

:yay:
Robin

Just booked this cruise!! Will be myself (single mom) and my 16 yr old daughter! We are from Vancouver Canada area! Can't wait! This is my daughter's surprise Xmas present this year! Our 4th DCL!

Hi everyone
Have checked the board from time to time, but haven't posted for a while. We have just booked our stay at wdw pre-cruise. We are staying 4 nights at the new Art of Animation Resort. Next thing to do is book the flights and look for somewhere for after the cruise for 6 nights. Still seems a long way off, but planning and booking things helps to pass the time. DS can't wait to get on the ship - he is desperate to play Goofy Golf!!:banana::banana:

Does anyone know about fe's?

I assume that you don't mean "What does FE mean?", because there's tons of info on FEs on disboards.

If you're wondering if anyone's interested in participating in FEs... I just did a quick search of this thread and I see 6 people saying they are "In"... and we'd love to do the FE thing again too!

So, the big question is... will anyone volunteer to organize them?

*** Quick shout out to others who were on the Dream for Valentine's Day last year! (busdriverbrad, jotabs... anyone else?)

Im not sure we will do FE - I end up stressed out trying to get it all delivered by the end of the cruise LOL. We have done it on all past cruises and its fun to come back to our room to find goodies, but with luggage at $25 a bag, it means I have to find lightweight tiny items to bring too!

Hello Fellow Cruiser!

Due to a change in my DD's school calendar, we will be unable to take this cruise. The whole family is unhappy, but there is always next time!!! Have a great cruise!!!! If anyone is interested, I have something for the men (FE) on this cruise already purchased and would happy to donate them. Send me a message so I can get your mailing address, and I will send them to you. It would be a shame for them to go to waste!!!

Until next time,
Cindy

I am sorry to hear you had to cancel. I hope there is another cruise in the near future planned!
