Cast: DD6, DW, DMIL, and "the Pup"
This morning was very windy. I thought about taking a stroll around deck 10, but was afraid I might blow away! After having great CC experiences on our past cruises, I thought this time we might not be able to dock.
In the meantime while my family slept I wandered about the ship checking out the artwork. I really enjoy looking at some of the old cells, and sketches of Mickey & the Gang.
After last night's poor dinner experience I wondered if there might be a chance to get a Palo ressie for tonight. Guest services called, and left a message. By the time I returned to the cabin there was a message from "Palo" to stop by at 6pm, and there might be availability. There's hope! DMIL might get the meal of her dreams, yet!
As we approached CC the wind subsided, and the sun came out. We were going to be able to have another great CC day! After breakfast at Topsiders, DD6 & I got our gear together and headed for the beach. DW & DMIL meanwhile, went to the Walt Disney Theatre for a special showing of "Hildago".
As we left the ship, DD6 & I had photos taken with ship. (I needed new wallpaper for my computer at work!). After a short tram ride, we walked to the family beach. Soon we were in the water, collecting shells, and making sand castles. We purchase sand toys from the Dollar Store at home for use on our vacation. When we're finished with them at CC we'll give them to another family who always is appreciative. Surprisingly, the water was warm. During our past two cruises in March, and April I thought the water had been cold. We swam & played until it was time to fly our kite. DD6 was anxious to fly the kite she had decorated yesterday. Several people, (including this uncoordinated Daddy) were having trouble flying their kites. Fortunately Qui, from the cruise staff, came to my rescue. Soon our kite was flying high above CC! DD6 was even able to fly the kite by herself. She thought she was hot stuff! DW & DMIL soon came along and watched. Next it was time for lunch at Cookies. This was somewhat hurried since DD6 had another hairbraiding appointment. Her braids from Sunday were becoming ratty looking, do DW took them out, and made another appointment. While DD6 & DW went to the appointment, DMIL & I took the tram to Serenity Bay. After experiencing a cold, gray winter back home it was so nice to see all of the flowers, and greenery of the island. When we returned, we found that DD6 decided not to have her hair braided. After a brief stop in "She Shells...Everything" we headed back to the ship. DD6 & DW were headed to the pool, and I returned to the island...for a Konk Cooler! All too soon it was time to return to the ship. After watching us depart from CC, I headed to Palo. Sure enough they would be able to fit us it at 6pm! Quickly we were dressed, took DD6 to the O Club, and it was dinner time! Adrina (sp?) our server was wonderful! She made this a dinner to remember! In addition to being so friendly, she provided service over and above! We tried everything! Antipasto, pizza, soups, salads, entreeS, dessertS. Oh my! We loved it when DW ordered a chicken/shrimp dish from the menu and Andrina said "No, order something else! Ok, I'll bring the chicken, but order something else too!" The chocolate souffle was wonderful, but the tiramisu was equally delicous...and Adrina's favorite of cream and fresh berries wasn't bad either! Following dinner we picked up DD6 from the club, along with her "I discovered the Magic" t-shirt, and "Oceaneer's Club" hat. Next we went to the Farewell Variety show featuring Comedy & ventriliquiesm of Michael Harrison, and magician Dave Womach as well as the characters, dancers, etc. doing their farewell number. I really enjoy this show, but it also means our cruise is coming to an end.
Next DW & DMIL were off to Shutters, while DD6 & I were off to Mickey's Mates". As her special prize for going to the Club, while we went to Palo, she chose a Goofy Hat with very long ears. She looked cute. We returned to Shutters where I believe 2000 passengers were buying photos. Wow was it crowded. Next it was time for "Til We Meet Again", where the characters, including the actors/actresses from the shows appear in the atrium. As they say goodbye, pixie dust falls from above. The end to a wonderful day.
It was soon back to reality. I returned to the room, where we needed to get our luggage packed, and in the hallway by 11pm. Once completed, for the last time the Magic would rock us to sleep.
