Hey guys! We're finally home and guess what . . . its Sunday morning and we're STILL doing laundry. My last load is in the dryer and I'm now beginning Courtney's washing. We came home to her telling us that the washer wasn't working correctly. All is well and its been going non-stop.
Dixielanding - we had two rooms booked on our first cruise with an adult in each room therefore, we had the ability to make 2 dinner and 2 brunch reservations! A nice perk if you're paying for more than one room. Even after boarding, you can still request more ressies in Rockin Bar D.
Okay -- the vow renewal -- it was really nice! I had my camera set wrong so my photos aren't as nice as they should be. I still have images on my SD card to download and process . . . I can't believe I'm so far behind on doing that. I may begin shooting sports as early as tomorrow so I need to take care of that today.
The cake was gorgeous and scrumptious! I sent the bottom layer to the cruise staff (Trent, Mike, Pikey, Natalie, Sheika, Paul, Christian and the others). I figured that most renewal couples send their leftovers to the Kids Club staff so I thought I would take care of the staff that takes care of us adults! We had the cake top on
Castaway Cay night in Palo. We invited the other four people that were our restaurant tablemates to join us in Palo that night figuring they could help us drink the bottle of Fairytale Couvee and eat the cake. We gave the leftover top layer to the Palo staff.
I don't know if you all realize it but the servers (restaurant and Palo) don't eat the same foods that we are served. Both staffs were greatly appreciative for the leftovers.
During the week we received two spa robes with the Disney Fairytale Wedding logo embroidered on them, the All Hands on Deck cheese and cracker plate, a plate of fresh fruit, a cookie plate, and after our renewal, another bottle of Fairytale Couvee with choc covered strawberries and chocolate pastries.
While we were at Palo Thursday night after the renewal, Rodolpho decorated our bed with two kissing swan towel animals surrounded with red rose petals in the shape of a heart and our vow renewal certificate. It was quite nice!
For our 8x10 photo that was complimentary (hahaha -- you know we paid for it in our renewal fee), we went to Preludes on formal night to have our photo taken with Mickey and Minnie. Once I scan it, I'll post a copy of it.
Week 2 did bring jewelry purchases for me! In Grand Cayman, we purchased a really nice looking Seiko silver watch for me with a band that resembles a bracelet. I was more than happy with that one when Ed decided that he wanted to shop the next day in Cozumel for another watch for me. Of course, the one we really liked was $13,000 so . . . you guessed it, we let it stay in the showcase! We did settle on a silver Gucci with a mother-of-pearl face and diamonds on the two side edges with a bracelet type design for the band.
Here's a tip for all of my disfriends that enjoyed Diversions and Rockin Bar D (as well as the wine, martini and margarita tastings -- oops and beer tastings) . . . .
When you do get to go on the Western Itinerary -- Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville in Grand Cayman was KICKING! We definitely preferred it to Carlos 'n Charlies and Senor Frogs in Cozumel. Margaritaville in GC has only been open for 4 months and is about a block from the terminal. It has a pool on the 2nd floor for the kiddies (and parents). The bar is on the 2nd floor and due to its elevation and construction, it was quite comfortable (not hot) as the breezes blew through the building. There is a DJ and lots of singing and interaction. I didn'[t check out their menu but I know the one in New Orleans has great food.
I'll be back later when I catch my breath and collect my thoughts (and navigators for reference).
