2/11/13 Wonder Sweetheart Cruise

Well....spoke too soon. Snow storm coming to Boston on Friday and Saturday! Whats with this New England weather, I just checked a couple days ago! Glad I got the insurance but really looking forward to a cruise! We'll be fine. We'll be fine. :rolleyes1

We left yesterday expecting to wake up to the "snow storm" they predicted and got maybe a dusting. You'll be fine

I really threw hubby into a panic this morning when I told him we were supposed to get snow Sunday & Monday in Minneapolis. Tried looking into flights out Sunday to be sure we'd get out but with the change fee and the additional fare increase, prices were ATROCIOUS!

I keep telling myself the weather nazi's in our market are usually wrong and besides, we're flying out of a major hub for Delta. The plane should be on the ground, not waiting for it to come in from elsewhere in the country. Our airport employees know what they are doing and how to do it so we'll be fine...we will be fine! (We will be fine...) I know, I know, you guys warned me...

Anyhow, DH said if we're late, we're late. We'll still be on vacation in Miami and it won't be snowing there. It only took him about 5 hours to get to that peaceful spot, me, I'm still not quite there yet.

Keeping fingers, and toes crossed for limited weather here in Mpls over the weekend. Safe travels to all of you leaving early. Clear roads and smooth skies everyone. See you Monday afternoon!

Safe Travels to Everyone. Can't wait to meet everyone on Monday.

Kelly, I'm confident the snow will not be a problem. Delta will be right on time for Monday morning.

In less than 48 hrs will be on the road! Finished my magnet (to add the other ones I did for the last cruise) and hoping to finish packing sometime soon. Looks like we'll had a wet ride at least for the first half of it.

BTW, anyone got pixie dust and got an upgrade? Nothing here... Several staterooms still available as of last night, but only for quantity two adults - looks like muster stations and kids clubs are almost full.

Oh and I'll be parking at the port - probably less of a risk, but also won't have to deal with shuttles... We have PAT of 11am and plan on getting there even before that :)

So - won't wear green, but I have my collection of Star Wars t-shirts... See you at the meet & greet :)

Just got into our hotel in Miami about an hour ago. It's 75 and humid right now at 9:25 at night! It was the longest train ride ever, no one slept and no one usually gets motion sick except for my daughter, who is fine but I syill feel like I'm on the train swaying all over:/. Hoping sleep tonight will help. We wrnt abd saw our potential house on rhr other side of orlando and made made the 5 hour trip to Miami. We are about 45 mins from port so another decent ride in the morning. Thank goodness we at least have out own car!

At least Vacation has officially started. 2 more days at the office for me. Can't say I'm going to be productive.

You may have 4 more days of work, Jillian, but you spent yesterday at Magic Kingdom! Not feeling so sorry for you. See you Saturday.

I have two more days of work which today involves driving all day in freezing rain - ick! Flying down Saturday afternoon. Looks to be good weather for traveling out of Chicago.

Those of you in Boston - can you get out of there now before the storm hits?

Jessica, so excited for you - have fun!!!!!

They're usually wrong in Boston too. Predict a ton of snow and get a dusting... :thumbsup2 But we may still get some in Boston...the weather man said "at least" a foot "guaranteed", up to 30 inches in places. :rotfl: but a foot's not too bad for here...they have the means to clear it out pretty quick. One of ours is a Delta flight attendant!...she just came in from Minneapolis yesterday! Said it was freezing! :crazy2: She'll be flying in from London Saturday night...She said, no problem...

I was working on an excursion in Cozumel :goodvibes and noticed there's a time difference...they are an hour early (from East Coast/Florida time). The itinerary says we arrive at Cozumel at 9:45am. Is that ship time which I assume is eastern time? or is it local Cozumel time? or does disney have their own ship time, ie CrST (Cruisin' Standard Time)? :cool1: I'm worried I'll get this all set up and then be an hour late.

Interested to know the answer to this question as well. When we sailed with Carnival in 2011, they would always remind us the SHIP time is the valid one, forget about local time.

We fly down on Saturday but will be driving tomorrow afternoon to Buffalo to spend the night there and do a park and fly. Hopefully the storm will be over by then. I hope to see you all on Monday, 3 PM.

Oops...actually they are an hour LATER, not earlier...basically on central time. that should be okay for us as we are trying to do an excursion early and have time to walk around later. The worst would be we would show up early. Granted that would be a new one for us..

Hey all!! I hope all of you guys have a wonderful cruise!! I just got off the Wonder this morning from our 5 nighter and it was GREAT!!

I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I am a big Disney Pin collector. And today of all days they released a new Disney Wonder pin that you can only buy on the ship. Unfortunately the gift shop is not open on disembarking day so I was unable to purchase it. Would someone be kind enough to purchase one for me and I would pay for it plus the shipping. The pin is listed at $9.95 + tax. If anyone is interested in helping me out, could you please message me? I would REALLY appreciate it. :worship:

Here is the link to what it looks like...

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

I wish we could get out before the storm but my husband flight in from Asia that was to land at 4 pm today (Friday) was CANCELLED! So he's landing in Montreal instead and hoping to drive or fly (which ever works) to Boston Sat but probably Sunday. By Monday morning, I am hoping highways are cleared and planes are flying!

Hope to see you all Monday afternoon. So what's the meet up place again on the ship? And should we wear green?

Keeping fingers and toes crossed!

Hi, Eyeore:) We wouldn't mind getting the pin for you while we are on the ship if you need us to. You can just pay us back through paypal when we get home next weekend. (Want to make sure I can get the pin for you before you pay) Shouldn't be too much to mail it... We love pins, too!

Just wanted to say we appreciate being added on short notice. The kids and I were busy elves all week getting the goodies ready for you guys:) We are supposed to have snow headed our way in Colorado, so hopefully we can get off the ground Sunday before a blizzard hits! Wish us luck:) And to our friends up there in Boston..we are praying for you guys to get out of there, one way or another!!! The Graydons pixiedust:

Travel ban starts at 4. No driving, trains, busses, boats, planes. :lmao: Walking, sledding, skiing, skating is allowed. Mounting boards on my suitcase as we speak...

Actually still not too worried. The storm should end tomorrow afternoon and the state seems to be prepared. Earlier today there were trains of plow crews waiting along the roads ready to start plowing with some serious gear. One of our party is flying in from London tomorrow afternoon...have no idea how that's gonna go! Just have to wait it out and see...:coffee:
