2/11/13 Wonder Sweetheart Cruise

We booked the ruins and discover mexico for Cozumel. But, we haven't booked something for GC. Kids are only interested in visiting Hell and maybe go to the beach - So I might just play it by ear and get a cab there. Anyone with experience?

I wouldn't want to get even close to Hell
Seriously, though, is this an excursion? What is it?
We are planning to go to Royal Palms and relax there for the day in GC.


7 days from now, we are on a direct Southwest flight from Buffalo to Fort Lauderdale... Can't wait...

I believe several of the turtle farm excursions stop by. Small tourist attraction. There's even a post office so you can send your 'Greetings from Hell'.

We are leaving tues morning for the first part of our cruise. It's dragging but going so fast I can't get anything done..if that makes sense lol. Two kids suitcases have been packed and double checked, the rest of us are packed and just need to be double checked. FE stuff is almost done, just need to get one more thing. I'm so not usually a procrastinator but getting sick a week and a half out. 3 of 5 ended up with bronchitis and had to be put on antibiotics earlier this week. IM GOING TO GET IT ALL DONE TODAY!

We're leaving Saturday morning for Orlando. Going to Legoland Sun and then headed down to Miami afterwards. We are SO excited!

At GC we're doing the Turtle Farm (booked via their website, not Disney. Price difference for our family of 5 is about $250!!)

In Cozumel we're doing the "Everybody loves Reys" excursion. Snorkeling, sting reys, and the beach......a little bit for everyone! Our kids' ages vary so much (17 to 4) that it's hard sometimes to do things that appeal to all 3! lol

Weather is looking super for the trip. Mid 80s in GC and high 70s in Cozumel.

Does anyone else have teenage kids going? My DD17 would love to 'meet' some people via FB or texting before going if anyone else's kids are also interested.

I wish the weather was warmer! To me, as a Floridian, I like my weather HOT! Having highs only in the 70's scares me a little! I still wear jeans and keep a sweater handy in 70-ish degree weather! I don't like swimming if it's not mid-80's or higher! You'll be able to locate me in the adults only hot tub this trip!

Luckily it wasn't the flu! My youngest starts to get better and picks up anything that rolls down the road. He has bronchitis, which luckily we can treat before te cruise. My other son caught a virus and went back to school today! Hope yours are better

They bounced back and are healthy! Just trying to keep them that way for a few more days! Lots of water, early bedtime, vitamins every morning....they are paying dearly for this cruise!

Is anyone else traveling in from Boston for the Feb 11 cruise out of Miami? We're on the 5 am flight out that Monday to Miami. I know, I know, we're cutting it close. We booked our own tickets (so Disney won't delay the boat for us) but we did buy the insurance -)). Keeping fingers crossed on no weather delays but will monitor closely.

Does anyone recommend a low cost shuttle from the airport to the Port? We have 6 people in our group so that is either two taxis or one big shuttle.

I look forward to meeting a lot of you in under two weeks!

We're flying out of Logan on Sunday morning and staying at South Beach..I've never been, looks a little crazy. And taking a taxi next morning to the port. The 10-day weather forecast looks good...the usual "lovely" gray cloudy Boston weather, occasional partly cloudy...light snow here and there....rain on Monday. ....shouldn't be a problem. Unless theres a storm somewhere else causing inbound delays?

I heard the taxis are about $25 from taxi to port. But I'm sure there's a shuttle that does the same run. Takes about half hour. You'll be in port before we are! We almost took that flight, but just couldn't do it...besides, we've never been to Miami, so hoping to see a little art deco in South Beach on Sunday.

Kelly, it's been my pleasure! I can wait for the boys to meet. We funalky got done today and boarded the dogs this afternoon. We are headed to the train in the morning. I can't believe I'm only a few days away. I look forward to meeting everyone in just a week

Those driving in, where are you parking? At the port or off site? The port is so expensive, but I'm worried about off site security. I asked my TA for suggestions, but haven't heard back yet.

I think we're parking at the port. I was also told by a friend who visits Miami a lot that there's a LOT of theft in parked cars. Since I'm incredibly unfamiliar with the area (says the FL resident of 9 years who has never been to Miami!) I'd prefer to stick with what's familiar, and unfortunately, that's the pricey DCL parking.

Well....spoke too soon. Snow storm coming to Boston on Friday and Saturday! Whats with this New England weather, I just checked a couple days ago! Glad I got the insurance but really looking forward to a cruise! We'll be fine. We'll be fine.

We are packing the car... leaving soooo early so we can be below DC before 5am, Jacksonville FL before rush hour, and Disney's Vero Beach for dinner
