2/11/13 Wonder Sweetheart Cruise

We got to the port around 10:30 and checked in by 10:50. We got boarding group 5. So need to wait a bit...

Went to the supervisor desk and they had nothing better than what we had, which is a 5b.

Terminal is busy and lots of kids... It's cold in the terminal!!!

Took pics with Mickey and Minnie is supposed to come out soon.

Praying everyone has a safe trip in. We stayed at country inn and suites and loved it. It really was 20 mins from port but thanks to traffic was more like 45. Ds is waiting VERY impatiently for Riley!

Hope our Minny friends and son are having a great time so far. Glad to hear the flight made it in time and we were relieved to see your Sail Away photos!

Just got home a few hours ago and originally booked the may 3 sailing on the fantasy but have decided to change the date to 2/22/14 :). It was so much cheaper for us. We had an amazing time with everyone. We want to thank everyone who participated in the FE. The gifts were amazing. Special thanks to whoever was nice enough to give out the Starbucks cups with coffee, I couldn't take anymore ship coffee! We decided to change our date for a couple reasons, one, Kelly, Tim and Riley! Dylan couldn't be happier that we moved it and two, a little cooler weather since DH re proposed to me on valentines night in wavebands and even had the cruise director, Ray, in on it. I had no idea it was coming. Thanks to all who made magnets to help decorate our doors. We loved the flip flop door hanger. The bandages came in handy when my middle son cut his heel and had no idea how. I have so many gifts I don't even know where to start lol. There is no gift that I didn't appreciate! Gonna try to lay down, stupid auto train gave me land sickness. Hope everyone had a safe trip home:)

Currently visiting family in Fort Myers after getting off 2/11/13 Sweetheart Cruise. My entire family wanted to thank everyone on tbe FE group foramazing gifts. Everyone outdid themselves!!!

Our only disappointment was condition of room which had damaged walls in our cabin and mold on floors and ceiling in restroom. Also, we had four in our room and only received one bar of soap, shampoo and conditioner the entire trip, even asking room steward daily.

Mere, it was nice to meet you and I hope you enjoyed your first cruise:).

Hi folks,

I hope you all had an amazing cruise. We loved it, including the last day with bad weather, which "forced us" to see more of the ship inside.

I feel really bad not going to the meet and greet on Monday.

My oldest and I were playing basketball close to 3 PM when he slipped and got a bump on his head. Nothing serious, but by the time I helped him, got ice, notified my wife, etc, it was already 3:30 PM.

We loved all the FE gifts, it was a huge hit with the kids, who always wanted to go back and check what was there for them.

I will say I was impressed with the food quality, which was one of my biggest concerns, seeing the amount on complaints on DIS.

Thank you Jessica for organizing this.....

As Mickey Mouse always says, I hope to SEE YOU REAL SOON!!!!

Camilo

Enjoyed one of our Starbucks coffees again this morning. You guys were all so thoughtful and we just wanted to say THANK YOU for all of the beautiful gifts we received. Our kids were so excited every day, and it really made our 1st Disney cruise that much more special. I hope everyone had a safe trip home. We were sad to leave...until next time. ;) Have a blessed 2013, and Best Wishes to you all!!! The Graydon Family pixiedust:

Wow, this thread is abandoned...I feel like I'm walking around the Wonder and theres no one on board! hellooooo..oo...oo...o? Anyway, if anyone drops by, just wanted to say thanks for the awesome FE ... EVENT! It surpassed everything we imagined...the gifts were very thoughtful, creative and surprising...I couldn't believe how they'd show up at all hours! There were obviously people working hard before and during the cruise which just shows what great people we had on this cruise! I wish I could have met more of you...We barely made it out of Boston, two feet of snow, all roads and airport closed, original flights cancelled, new flights, sleeping over in DC at midnight, catching the 6 am flight to Miami...ugh. We were exhausted and being our first cruise, much less first Disney Cruise, the first few days were amazingly overwhelming! It was absolutely WONDER..ful! But we completely missed the meet and greet, and the hours flew by exploring all the things to behold on the ship and ports. And of course a little catch up rest and relaxing! Before we knew it we were on the flight back home. We made it back safe and sound to piles of snow and shoveling! We should have taken advantage of the on board booking, but again ... flew by. But planning another trip in the future! Can't wait! I hope everyone had a fantastic trip and a safe journey home! :wave2:

We had an incredible time and did book on board for may of 2014 but friends that we made on this trip, msnkelly, my boys really wanted to sail with their son again and we had a great time with Kelly and her DH Tim so we switched our cruise and are cruising with them again 2/22/14 on the fantasy! We are all so excited and counting down already! We got so many amazing gifts and are putting them all to great use! I can't wait to be at my home away from home again:)

I also feel the thread is abandoned.

People are probably too busy going back to day to day life. :(

Since we arrived back in Canada, we've had two big snow storms, nothing fun.

Yesterday, we met a couple that was on the Wonder with us and started talking about a possible cruise next year. I would like to see the other old ship (Magic) mainly due to the different night shows. How often do they offer kids sail free on the Wonder and Magic? To us (2 kids), that made a huge difference in price.

I'm not sure if I will write a detailed review from the ship and our trip. If I do, for sure I'll share it here.

I keep checking in to see if anyone else has showed up to recap our voyage. Much to my dismay, posts have been few and far between...

I MISS THE WONDER! (And all the wonderful friends we made onboard.) My DS (10) was sad last night and when I asked him why, he told me it was because he wasn't on the ship anymore! Really??? I know how he feels but what's he gonna be like after the 7 night Fantasy cruise next February? He had so much fun with Dylan, Jayden & Brady he can't stop talking about it. I have a feeling it's gonna be a LONG year!

All of you have inspired me to participate in the FE for the next cruise. Of course, DH thinks I'll overpack and what are we going to do with all that "stuff". Hmmm, if we get real coffee, I think that'd make the whole thing worth it. I may even be the one bringing that for the adults!

I've not thought about writing a trip report but it's not a bad idea. DS had to journal each day as he was missing school and that was his assignment while out so I know what we did. I may have to put thoughts on paper and post. If I end up doing so, I'll let you all know. It'd be fun to do a group report...what worked, what didn't, what excursions we all took.

I know I LOVED the catamaran to Rum Point Beach and Stngray City. The guides were really nice and helpful, as well as informative. What did amaze me though, was how people didn't tip for excursions. I understand the excursions can be a bit pricey, but these people are providing a service. We tip for service based purchases everyday here in the States, why not for excursions on vacation as well? Don't forget, there's usually more than one person splitting that tip too, make sure to compensate for that as well. The other thing that would have been helpful to know is that the US dollar was worth less than the Cayman dollar so when tipping, you actually gave the appropriate amount. I wonder if there's a way they could put the exchange rates in the Navigators the night before ports...just a thought. (Or was it there and I just missed it?)

Anyhow, I hope you are all settleing back into the routine of everyday life. I know the snow shovel is still out at my house, ready to be used again when I get home from work today. The older I get, the more I understand the term "Snowbirds"!

Here's to new friends! I WONDER how long it will be before we can see them again???

Dylan was just bugging me again last night wanting to know if Brady was coming too. I explained the situation and I think it made him more impatient to find out lol. He did email Riley back. Things have been a little insane here to say the least:/. Gotta get back on track!

Crazy busy since we came back home. But we had an amazing time. Even though the last day was a little gray (and rained buckets in Vibe so my DS15 said), it was excellent.

Had pastries and lunch from a couple of Argentinean places and slowly drove up north, stopping by Character Premier in Ft. Lauderdale and St. Augustine.

Eventually back to the cold weather...

Booked for Xmas 2014 on the Dream - yeah, crazy but, oh well - it's been a dream (cut in half as originally it was going to be on the Fantasy). But was VERY close to booking the 5n Wonder xmas cruise (my wallet won that decision).

Sorry for not participating in the FE - DW is the private type and kids are older so not much interested...

Although never got to do it, will look forward to the recommendation of doing the Exotic Razul next time we cruise on a classic ship - just found out it's not an option on the new ships :<

Till we meet again...

PS: Next is WDW in xmas 2013!
