***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

OMG! I read you guys complaining that your DH or DS or DD all of a sudden have a change of heart and became interested in changing your plans... I just told DH I'm probably just keeping AKL and he asked me why am I not changing it! He has an opinion all of a sudden! :headache: His argument is proximity for DS2 to go back to the hotel for rests... I agree but I wanted AKL already! Argh... Back to indecision!

THIS is why I give DH a cursory idea of our plans, but if I get too in-depth, he just ends up mucking up all my hard work! For instance, a couple of days ago he told me he didn't want to park hop. :earseek: Ummm, NO. After all of these plans and ADR's I've made...no way is he getting his way with this one!

NOoooo! Hmm hopefully he forgets about that by the time you go on your trip! I know what you mean though, I really need to stop telling him stuff about Disney. It just annoys him when I still go my way anyway :duck:

Our travelling party consists of:
- Myself (or Emily, Em, etc...hey you works too!)
- DH
- DD1 who will be 3.5 at the time of the vacation. While she still likes Minnie, we've moved on to Doc McStuffins and Elena of Avalor. She also is learning about the princesses too. So far, Ariel seems to be who she likes to talk about the most!
- DD2 who will be 10.5 months at the time of travel. She's just been hitting all of her milestones lately at once! Crazy! She loves Doc's theme song and immediately starts to dance when she hear's it!
The four of us will be traveling November 29th - December 9th. From 11/29-12/1, we will be staying at the Beach Club Villas, by renting points. On 12/1 we'll hop to Animal Kingdom Lodge - Jambo House. That evening we'll be attending MVMCP! On December 3rd, my parents (aka gpa and dpa), two youngest sisters (Ro and Ash), and brother with family (DW, girl aged 3 and boy aged 8 months at travel time) will be joining us and also staying at the AKL.

We've never visited during the holiday time frame so this is all new to us. It almost makes me feel like a first timer! Only 84 days to go!:santa::mickeyjum

Hi Em! It's nice to have a name with a "face" :thumbsup2 I didn't realize your family was joining you guys for your trip...that sounds like so much fun! Especially having built-in babysitters!!

In reality, DH NEVER plans anything, so he'll just follow along with whatever I decide! I am the Type A one of the relationship, and he's pretty easy going so I usually get my way most of the time. I think I just exhaust him to the point where he doesn't fight it! :rotfl2:

There used to be a limit when they had the old website. But they don't limit the size of the threads anymore. The Beach Club thread has more than 13,000 posts and they haven't been told that they had to create a new thread yet.

Are you sure? Dumb question: Obviously you know how many posts are in the thread! I know o saw this happen since I've been planning this trip. Maybe it happened on the other forum?

Sorry I panicked and confused everyone!

Same here! I fill up all the forms and make all the reservations! Unfortunately the downside for him is that when I give my name, all reservations come in my own last name (didn't take his when we got married). Annoys him a lot! :rotfl2:

Yes! We are grateful for them! They're allowing us to have experiences that we thought we would never be able to do. It's great!

Today, we received our Universal tix in the mail! It's been fun researching how Universal decorates/celebrates the holidays! AND the Hulk coaster! Yay!

I hate it when men finally have an opinion and it is the wrong one. Drives me crazy. Like, why can't you have an opinion when is actually a useful time? and also one that is actually useful! argh!

Wooohooo for universal! I'm so surprised that the parks and resorts would probably not be decorated until we leave already though!

Please share! I admittedly haven't done much more than a quick peek on the US website to see about Christmas activities. I didn't find much of a description, but then again I could probably find more info if I did a more thorough search.

Yay! This is fun! I came in late to the game, so even though I've read some of y'all's plans as they change, it's nice to see everyone's big picture plans! :)

I'm Mallory (30), or Mal or short, and my #SpinsterBFF roomie (32) and I will be staying at All Star Music (unless the Disney upgrade gods shine down upon us and rescue us from Pop Warner land!) from December 4th through the 11th, attending MVMCP on December 6th.

This has been a weird year, and actually this is our third Disney trip this year! This trip was always planned, but the other two just sort of happened! We got super cast member discounts and had a long weekend staycation (for him!) in late February at Coronado Springs with our sweet theatre child (we are avid community theatre volunteers) who was doing the college program. THEN we went back in June for my 30th birthday (BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!) and stayed offsite with local family for another long weekend.

This is our first Christmas vacation at Disney. I went once in the first few days of January about five years ago and got to see decorations, but the holiday festivities were all done except for the Osbourne lights. So grateful I got to see them! BUT, this is roomie's first time to see ANY of it, so I'm super pumped for us to experience most of it together for the first time!

Roomie lets me do the planning, which is how I ended up here, looking for advice and soundboards! And y'all are such a great group! I seriously keep telling roomie, "Best Thread EVER!"

Seriously! Get this...so DH helped pick out the resort before we booked, knew about the Little Mermaid room, yada yada yada. Tonight we finally watched the Planning video on YouTube. When it got to the part about the resorts, I told him to pay attention to the part about the Values. They're showing pictures of AoA with the Cars section, and the Finding Nemo pool, and the Little Mermaid rooms, and this is the convo:
DH: "Wow, I'd love to stay there!" Me: "We ARE staying there!"
DH: "Really? I thought we were staying at the Animation place."
Me: *Shaking my head*

This is why I don't let DH's opinions sway my plans too much. The man has no idea where we're staying, despite picking out the resort!

:rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl: This is so hilarious! I love it!

Unfortunately for me, DH has stayed at dolphin before so he actually remembers it being convenient!

My Re-Intro and Trip Details

Cast of Characters

Me (Amy): 51 years old, crochet designer/instructor, co-owner and Social Media Director of Crochetville, a large online community dedicated to crochet with our own message board with 67,000 members, a Facebook page with over 267,000 fans, and a blog. I also enjoy many other fiber arts such as knitting, spinning, weaving, and sbout to learn dyeing. I love to read (favorites are J K Rowling, L M Montgomery, J R R Tolkien, and lots of young adults authors); I love cozy mysteries, science fiction, and fantasy. I also enjoy reading comic books when I have the time. I also love cats (we have 6; the last 2 were accidents). I love the mountains (grew up in East Tennessee) and enjoy the beach.

DH (Mark): 55 years old, software engineer/manager for a company that does work for NASA and DoD; he's written all sorts of software for payload experiments on the old space shuttles and all sorts of experiments and life support systems for the International Space Station. 12/1 - MVMCP
12/3 - Starwars Dessert with 1st week of December! I believe in magic.

I bit more about our travelling party.

Me (Barbara or B.... never Barb).

I've been in love with MK since my first visit at age 5. I still have very vivid memories of dinning in Cinderella's Castle. It was King Stephen's at that time, long before the Princesses. Actually, there were no character meet and greets just spontaneous interactions. Characters would randomly appear. You never knew who you woukd run into. We visited numerous times during my childhood.

I took my children for the first time in 2003 DS was one month shy of his second Birthday and DD was 4 . We visited again in 2005 and 2007. These have all been at holiday time.

Santa left an IOU for the kids in 2009... It took a few years but he's finally delivering.

We are super super excited! It's been so long it feels like my first trip!

The holiday activities/decorations will be up by December 3rd. We'll be there the 5th so early in the holiday season!

Yep, they have Grinchmas, and the Macy's Holiday parade (with real balloons from The Macy's T-day Parade, in US). The parks will have decoration too, it seems, along with the HP areas.

Andddd, I just learned that Manheim Steamroller will kick of the holidays in USO with concerts on select nights! I would love to be able to do that, but it just isn't going to work this year.

I've been watching quite a bit of YouTube, as it helps a ton with figuring USO out. :)
