1st time to NY what should I see?

John's Pizza!!!! on 34th st, Between Broadway and 8th Ave. Excellant food, reasonable, and a beautiful mural of NYC in this old renovated church!!!

I'm sure I'll repeat something but here as my must sees:

- St Patricks Cathedral
- Shopping in SoHo
- Empire State Building
- Take the Staten Island Ferry (Free) and you can get a great view of the Statue of Liberty
- Times Square is always interesting! My fave place to go in the middle of the night =)
- Toys R US
- FAO if its open again (and pretty much all the stores along that strip)
- Broadway! Buy 1/2 price tickets at the TKTS booth in Times Square the morning of the show! We always get great seats and have had a great choices in shows! Never been disappointed!
- Ground Zero. I haven't been since 9/11, but my sis said it was very moving to see it...
- ChinaTown!
- Little Italy (China Town and Little Italy are right next to each other... I usually go early to shop and eat in China Town, then head over to Little Italy for pastries and coffee - they are just getting started when China Town is closing down)
- Central Park! There is a great carousel that we happened upon by accident. Its huge, so figure out what you want to see before venturing in... you're liable to walk forever if you are looking for something in particular!
- Rockefeller Center. We got up early one morning for the Today show and it was fun to exp =)
- The MET. Note- there is a $12 (last time I was there) suggested donation. You dont HAVE to pay $12, just something. If we arent going to stay long, we don't pay $12. If I was staying all day, I would pay it. My uncle lives there, is an artist, and rarely pays the full amount unless makinga day of it. Just a note =)
- The Modern Museum of Art is on my to-do list for next time. They have Van Goghs "Starry Night" and I want to see it in person!
- Pretzels and hot dogs paired with snagging a bench and people watching could make a great afternoon!
- Mastering the subway system! You can buy an allday pass for, like, $6 or something. Metro Pass, maybe its called? Find the stations that carry that (not all did last I was there) and you can ride the sub all you want. I found it much easier than cabs and busses.
- I've had great Indian food there as well... there is a part of town with tons of Indian places... We always eat at "Curry in a Hurry" LOL

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm dying to return... must save more money! WDW is this year, maybe next.

Have a blast!

How about Ben's Deli? It's yummy! It's a couple blocks over from the Westin Times Square. Maybe on 7th?

I'm really want to go back to NYC. I love that city! I just saw Mamma Mia here in FL tonight. It made me miss the city because I saw it the first time in Feb on Broadway. After the show we went to John's Pizza. Really good. I wish I was at John's right now!
