1st place you ate at WDW?

This is a fun thread, reading it is bringing back some nice memories!

The first CS meal we ate at WDW was Pinocchio Village Haus, in 1986, and we didn't eat there again until during the MNSSHP in 2007! Not that we didn't like our meal in '86, but for a while they served turkey burgers (which DH won't eat), or we just weren't in the area when we were hungry, or the ordering lines were just too long.

Our first TS meal was at Garden Grill in the Land in 1988 (can't remember if it was called that back then), and we made our reservation for lunch at that room that was at the end of the Spaceship Earth ride, where you spoke to the reservations operator on a big screen. That was so cool! That was when you ordered off a menu and the food was quite good, we were so excited to look down over the "Listen to the Land" ride as we revolved during lunch. We were really bummed out when it became character dining with pre-chosen food.

Cool thread idea!

My first WDW meal was lunch at Cinderella's Castle in May of 1997. We walked right up and got a table.

I have no recollection of what I had, but strangely enough, I can remember what the girl who was with me had. Go figure...

Don't remember what we ate on my 1st trip but Small World was my favorite ride. (I was 5)
Anyway, we returned a few years later (1980) and the ride was being refurbed. I was so sad. I sat by the window at Pinocchio Village Haus and cried. Don't remember what I ate, but to this day I don't like going to Pinocchio's.:sad1:

Our first dinner was actually a delivered pizza to our CBR room on our honeymoon in 1993. I think the first park meal was at Cosmic Ray's.

Our first table service meal was on the same trip at Marrakesh. It was the only restaurant in Epcot available. That was when you could make your "priority seating" arrangements at interactive video screens somewhere near SE in Epcot. You actually saw the CM that you were speaking with.

Our first meal was at the Rose and Crown, in 1992. I had the shepherds pie. We were staying at the Beach Club, and Epcot was the first park we visited.

I need help with the name because it is not there anymore (or at least has been radically transformed). It was 1976 and we were staying in Fort Wilderness. In the general area of the current Trails End, there was the equivalent of a CS restaurant with no buffet and no bar. The food reminded me a lot of Pecos Bill -- good hamburgers with lots of fixings. What I remember best is the sarsparilla. Fantastic!

I think I can answer this after I borrow the cane and some geritol from the previous posters.

I remember my first TS being breakfast at Papeete Bay Verandah ( I think thats what it was called back then ) in the Polynesian . They had the BEST sausage links I have ever had . The first snack I remember is eating candy buttons purchased from the main street candy shop, We would buy some of those and head over to teh penny arcade and watch teh hand crank movies and play the penny arcade games

Can't remember anything I had as a child, but I'm sure it was a hamburger or hot dog.

Fast forward to 2002, the first time I took my children. We ate at Chef Mickey's. We were staying at the CR and had what was then a Priority Seating for later in the week, but once my kids saw the place, the begged to go! We walked right up and got a table! :thumbsup2 I couldn't believe it!

What a great way to start the Disney experience! They've been hooked ever since!;)

Like other posters, I don't remember where we ate when I took trips with my parents as a child. However, on my first trip as an adult (and my ds's first trip ever), our first stop was at Cantina de San Angel in Mexico at Epcot. We still love it to this day. Our first TS meal was Chef Mickey's. We still go to both places every trip. We like to stick with tradition, I guess.

:rotfl: Boma's (in 2007) Our first visit for the three of us included a 16 year old, 39 year old, and 40 year old! :goodvibes It was definately a case of "better late than never"!

Wow...great question, but I'll be darned if I remember the name of the place. It was 1976 and it was in the "Lake Buena Vista" Village area. On our last trip in September, we went to DD, and I remember staring at Capt. Jack's in a sort of deja vu moment. I'm pretty darn sure that the restaurant we ate at all that time ago was in that location. Does anyone know how long that building has been there? And what was it called back then?

First time I went I was 11 and can't remember where I at the whole trip except for the breakfast buffet at the Days Inn we stayed at off property.

For our trip in 2002, second time I went, first trip for DH, we ate at DTD. My brain is telling me we ate at House of Blues, but for the life of me, I can't remember for sure. Horrible isn't it? Guess I should've been taking more pictures!!

Can't wait for the trip in April as we were are eating at a ton of places we've never dined before.

The first WDW restaurant we ever went to was Coral Reef. DW, DD14 (then she was 10) and myself decided to dine here because of the aquarium. We had no ADR and were seated as soon as we showed up. All of us fell in love with the beauty of this place and we really enjoyed the food. We go back as often as possible now and will always enjoy this place.

:thumbsup2

Our first place was Chef Mickey's in November 2005. We where staying @ POP and I wanted DS6 at the time to ride the monorail into the the resort for our first Disney Meal and to meet Mickey before we started touring the parks. It was wonderful and we where overwhelmed with excitment for our first ever Disney Veacation. It is a great 1st experience! We now start each Vacation with Dinner @ Chef Mickey's.

Biergarten back in 89 or 90. It wasnt a buffet back then. There were dancers and entertainment to watch. We had some kind of seafood stew with all sorts of stuff in it. It was a family style dish. Really excellent. We also ate at San Angelo Inn that trip.

Oh and both restaurants we just walked into the day of. No reservations!

Teppanyaki at Japn, sad cause it is officially gone now. It was December 25th 1998. I was a senior in high school. My boyfriend's family invited me (we are now married). I was devastated to be away from my family on Christmas. We went to the Candlelight Processional afterwards. It was nice, but I was sad about missing x-mas. It ended up being my grandma's last one, but I do know I enjoyed my meal.

September 15, 2001. We had missed our original flight due to 9/11. When we finally got there-cancellations, delays, etc., (DH and DS's first trip) we were tired and groggy. We checked in and headed to MK. Our first meal was at Columbia Harbor House. It was the only CS I remembered from researching! I believe I had the tuna sandwich.

Our first TS was the following night. Rose and Crown, lower terrace for Illuminations. Bangers and mash, I think.

First meal my wife and I ate was at the food court at POFQ. My wife had a cheeseburger, and I had a Philly cheesesteak.
