1900 Park Fare vs Akershus

We are trying to decide which princess meal to do for our 3 girls (4,2,2). The Akershus breakfast looks wonderful, but wondering if it is worth buying tickets to Epcot. We originally planned on skipping Epcot after reading reviews that it has the least to do for kids our age, but I'm torn after seeing the Akershus breakfast.

Is 1900 Park Fare comparable or should we spend the extra $ and do Akershus? Thanks so much!

If it's strictly a $ thing, it'd cost less to go to CRT than pay for Epcot & Akershus.

1900 and Akershus are different experiences. The characters are different and the only princess at 1900 is Cinderella vs Cinderella, Belle (for pics), Snow White, Ariel, and Aurora at Akershus. We like the dinner @ Akershus better.

Just realized you said breakfast. 1900 doesn't have any princesses at breakfast, Cinderella is dinner only. Breakfast is Alice, Mary Poppins, Mad Hatter, and Tigger I believe.

At those ages, the kids probably won't know about either so it's really more of what you want to do. We love Epcot and go there every trip, I'd suggest looking into the park a little more before writing it off. World Showcase has cute little shows that the kids always enjoy, there are arts & crafts stations in each country, and characters as well. My kids always enjoyed the Mexico boat road (once went on 5x in a row with no wait ) and Maelstrom in Norway. They also enjoy the Nemo ride, Turtle Talk with Crush, etc. And the Illuminations fireworks are beautiful!

Long story short - I'd go with a day in Epcot & Akershus meal. If you're doing MK only and Epcot visit not in the cards, CRT is comparable (and exceeds) but 1900 really isn't the same.

This may be too late to be useful if you have booked ADRs, but I thought I would comment any as we have done both.

On our last trip (DDs 5 and 3) we did 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and Akershus for dinner. I would skip 1900 Park Fare next time and have definitely booked Akershus again.

My kids are both obsessed with Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland so 1900 Park Fare seemed like an obvious choice. We found that food was serious lacking (plus it's a buffet) and the character interactions were so frequent it was impossible to enjoy the meal. We had Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Tigger, Pooh...there were more...I was running back to the table from the buffet every five minutes to make sure that we didn't miss anyone. We basically ate in shifts (DH + 1 kid and me with the other). Plus, as I said, the food was bland, boring buffet food.

We loved the food at Akershus, we loved the princess interactions and I loved the fact that we got to sit down and enjoy a meal. The breakfast might be a buffet (I'm not sure about that), but for dinner, the appetizers were buffet, but the meals were table service. The characters come to the tables and chat and then there is a princess parade. The food was great (not everyone loves it because it is different, but really it is better than average disney food). I think that it's a better value and experience than CRT, but if you factor in ticket prices, then maybe not. We have booked Akershus again for this trip as it was a huge hit with all of us (even DH).

If your kids are into Phineas and Ferb, there the Agent Ps World Showcase. My kids adore the aquarium and turtle talk with crush. There is more than enough to keep even little kids happy at Epcot for at least a 1/2 day. We always get PH passes and I find that we like to pop into Epcot most days for a snack and a ride or two.

This doesn't have anything to do with the restaurants, but is more of a plug for Epcot. We loved Epcot (especially for our kiddo) because we were able to meet tons of characters out and about in the different lands of WS without standing in a huge line. We saw Marie, Aurora, Belle and Beast, Jasmine and Aladdin, Mulan and Snow White with lines of only 15 minutes or less each!

We loved Epcot!

I love the breakfast at Akershus, especially the potatoes, and couldn't skip Epcot, so that would be my choice. We're also going with a 16-month old this trip, and there's cute little things at Epcot she can do.

It sounds like you are buying tickets separate from a resort package.

With the ages of your children, I would want to make sure that I had planned for at least two days at the Magic Kingdom since it has the most rides and activities for the young children.

You said you initially were not planning on going to Epcot, so I would not pay the 100.00 extra per person to buy a ticket to Epcot just to eat with the princesses.

Remember, you can see most of the princesses at Princess Hall. Consider selecting it for one of your fast passes.

As someone else stated, it would cost less to eat at CRT (Cinderella's Royal Table at the castle inside Magic Kingdom) than to but the separate tickets for Epcot. At CRT you would see all the same princesses that you would at Akersaurus. Plus, it is fun to experience eating in Cinderella's castle at least once.

Epcot is my kids' favorite park and always has been. They are 8, 6, and 5 now, but have been going since they were infants. I prefer the food at 1900 Park Fare. Akershus has a lot of Norwegian foods that are just a little to wild for my bland American palate. My husband enjoyed the different foods, though.

At 4 and 2, have you considered Hollywood and Vine at Hollywood Studios? They have Sophia the First, Doc McStuffins, Jake (...the Neverland Pirates), and Oso. That is our favorite character breakfast with littles.
