1800 Flowers Work At Home Opportunity (Select States)

HI I usually just lurk but I applied for this job and the interviewer just called and when I told her I was having a phone line installed next week she said she couldn't even interview me until the phone line was installed. I don't want to pay to have another phone line installed if I am not sure I have the job. Did everyone else say they already had the phone line installed? I was wondering if she was blowing me off because my kids were kinda loud in the background and she didn't want to waster her time. I explained that my kids were out of school today and are not normally here while I am working but she said without the phone already installed she couldn't do the interview. So now I am debating paying for the phone to be installed but what if I dont get the job and I want that money.
Guess I need to look into it a little more
Thank to the OP for the info on the opportunity

Jill

My interviewer offered me the job but said we couldn't proceed any further until I had a 2nd phone line installed. When I got off the phone with her I immedietly called the phone company and got an appt to have a phone installed two days later which is today (and they were 2 hrs early Yayy). When I got off the phone with the phone company I called back the interviewer and left a message. A few hours later the information packet arrived via email. I filled it out, had it notarized & sent it in yesterday.

Honestly, I think it's so unprofessional to hear kids in the background during a phone interview. You really should have found a sitter or rescheduled the interview. If you really want the job, I would install the phone line and then reschedule the interview to a day where your kids are in school. Good luck :)

Jhoelle- my interviewer asked me about the phone too. I already have one & told her that. My dog was barking like crazy in the background when she called so i wouldn't worry too much about her hearing the kids.

The long distance calls, even if you had to make, are not charged to you. They would be routed through your computer to the comnpany. If I make a call when logged in, it shows on clients side as my company name.
I work from home as a mainframe computer programmer for my company that I have worked at for 16 years. I use software they installed on my company laptop to make calls. We use Avaya.
I agree w/ the kids making noise issue. This also applies to animals. It was a real trick to find the place in my house that was free of kid, animal, and normal house sounds.
Your calls will probably also be periodically monitored so they will hear anything in the background that a customer would hear.

Yeah, I just got off the phone with an interviewer. I'd have to be pretty hard up to sign on for this. $7 an hour plus an opportunity for $3 hr incentive. MAX-6/8 hours PER WEEK. 30-40 hours the days around Mother's Day. So, I have to pay monthly for a dedicated phone line, to make maybe 40 bucks a week? Thanks, but no thanks.

That's $160 a month! and the extra phone line is only $10.00 a month, so it's definitely worth it to me!

You know, I didn't think of it this way. And that's before taxes, right? That is not worth it to me either. I guess I will have to let them know I am not interested.

Where I am, the cheapest phone I can get is $16 a month, plus taxes and a $55 activation fee. Maybe it'll work for some, but I just don't see it being worthwhile, for me.

My phone is $9.40 a month around $13 with taxes. I also do travel agent work from home so at the end of the year I can write it off on my taxes. I fully understand the peak times is where you are gonna make your $. It's worth a shot, maybe more hours will become available. My interviewer did tell me you can also get paid for training new people once you are there awhile.

I am still debating what to do, another phone line would be $16.75/month before taxes and a $55 fee to hook it up. It seems like easy money and I am not worried about the kids they weren't really that loud, one just ran by saying my name and then realized I was on the pone and ran out but I am sure the interviewer heard him. I work from home now and they know that I am not to be bothered when I am in the office, it was just a 6 year old making a quick slip up.
The interviewer told me to go back on the website and schedule another interview after I got my phone line but I am unsure as to whether I should invest the money without knowing if I have the job or not. Guess I need to think about it.
Thank for your help
Jill

My interviewer didn't even ask about the phone line and hired me. A new line will be $15 a month with no install fee. I'm worried about the headset- they are $100.00 and up!

My DH finally got a phone interview schedule for this coming Tuesday- YEAH!!!! He is a D.J. here in Cincinnati so he stays at home with our two kids, this is a perfect way for him to make some extra money without us having to put the kids in childcare, YEAH!!!!! Thanks so much Dis for bringing this to our attention, it is exactly what we have been praying for.
So for those of you who have interviewed, can we tell them we don't have the phone line yet, but will install it upon hiring? Or do we tell them we do have one even if we don't? I don't want him to loose the job opportunity not having the phone line, but we will install it upon his hiring. Just wondering what the interviewers required here.

I have been looking but all of the ones I have found are for the cordless phones and it says specifically that you must have a headset for the corded phone. I guess my question is how will they know :confused3

I have a corded phone and I am just looking for the head set, and I know that one can be found for under 50.00 (that is the cheapest I have found) somewhere.

I applied on Wednesday evening and got my call the next day and got the job. They didnt ask about the 2nd line but I did order it.

But if anyone knows where to get the headset that would be great.

Someone posted a link to one at Walmart a couple posts above yours. It's pretty cheap too.

That particular one is for cordless phones. It does not have a cord simlar to a corded phone which is what you will need. But I did manage to find one on ebay. It was $22.00 plus $6 shipping and processing. It is perfect and in the right price range. So I guess that was the last thing on my list to get. SO I am done.

Good Luck to all of us who are doing it.

I have a question, how are they going to know if you have Voip phone line. I worked for another phone call center company and they wanted a land line and I used a Voip and they didn't know. I don't want to pay for a second phone line.
