$164.89/Week Alamo Minivan Using Disney Visa

Hi....Received the Disney Rewards newsletter from Disney Visa, and noticed they had an Alamo 20% off coupon. Using the rates codes on that coupon I was able to get a $164.89/week minivan for our June trip. Total including taxes and fees for 12 days is $346.53. Requirement is that you use the Disney Visa to pay for the rental.

This rate saves me over $100 for the rental period vs. my previous reservation for a $199/week Dollar minivan, and it's $69 better than the Alamo Walmart deal for our rental period .

The deal also includes a voucher for a child's character breakfast....I didn't factor that into my savings estimates.

Just when I thought this Disney Visa wasn't going to help much!

Wow! Does that offer go into September? We need to rent something in September and that sounds like a great rate! I hope it comes in my statement. I could use the Character Breakfast coupon too if it is good for September.

The current coupon indicates it's good through June 30, 2003. Hopefully they'll offer it again in future months and it will work out for you.

Is it too late to sign up for Visa Card?? And still receive
20% coupon?? I'm signed up for the Dollar Minivan 6/16 -6/28
But would love to save some buckss...

we usually use Dollar....love walking out the airport to pick up car so close by.....do you still have to get on a bus to go to Alamo and pick up your car?

Buzzsgramma - I do believe that Alamo is in the airport now. They are now affiliated with National and I think that I have read that they share a counter. Alamo is supposed to geared towards the leisure traveler and National the business traveller.

I agree with you, I never wanted to leave the airport to get a car, but now with Alamo you don't have to.

I too am waiting to see if more coupons are put out in the Disney VISA statements for future months. We need one for August!

Has anyone used the "TV" Alamo code that is posted on Mousesavers.com? It is so low that it makes me nervous, as she states "no idea where it came from." But it's quoting me $149.24 a week for a mini-van! Wow, can this be for real?

BethR...thanks....one bad experience with Alamo and sort of leary of trying again...i mean if we can just walk out to the mini-van is what i was referring to.....never forget getting off the plane with 11 of us ...5 small kids and walking out to be greeted by a huge Alamo bus..NO THANKS...the guys went and got the cars and came back for us....thats why we love Dollar so close and usually get a deal

Do you have to use the Disney Visa to get the $169 deal? When I went to Mousesavers it stated that anyone could use that code and it was from the Family Fun magazine.

Oh My Gosh!!! Whoopee!!!

Because of these Posts, I just got a SCREAMING Deal
at Alamo for a 8 Passenger Minivan For Total $ 434.28
for 12 days (June 16-June 28) Using the TV rate code
mentioned on this thread and MOUSESAVERS.com!
I had previously gotten a 6 person minivan for total
of $504.62 using rate code DOL39 (Dollar rent a car)
and I thought this was pretty good...But this is way
better! 2 years ago when we last went to WDW, we
rented from Alamo(quickSilver)...I had rented a minivan
and low and behold walked to the lot to get my car
(it was offsite at that time) and got a 15 passenger van..
We loved it...We had 3 kids, DH and MIL, so it was perfect!
We were very happy with Alamo, I hope it as good at
the airport location!! I'm going to register for Quicksilver
right now, maybe it will be faster, if ther's not a kiosk
Try to get that good rate and let me know!!!

The Disney Visa discount plan code is 9M and the ID# is 807245. Key requirement is that you pay using a Disney Visa, so I assume anybody who doesn't have a Disney Visa may have a hard time getting them to honor a ressie with this code when they go to pick up the car/van if they don't have a Disney Visa. Just a word of caution; I am no way feeling obligated to be the 'Alamo police!'
