Every Sunday I try to think of what I'm grateful for. This week, it is definitely the 150s Club!
Honestly, when it would have been easier to just give up and say I'm never going to be able to put this all together, I got the encouragement I needed to go on. My home scale is still going down so far this weekend (fingers crossed), so even my lackluster efforts are helping.
After my treadmill workout, I did well with breakfast (cheerios & milk) and lunch yesterday (my dh's leftover baked haddock), and had green grapes for a snack. Then my best friend called and wanted to go out. I knew this would be a chance to eat way too much, so I didn't have dinner at home.
We went to the movies (if you have not seen "Bewitched", don't, trust me). The theater can be a scary food place for me. But, I confined myself to pretzel nuggets without the fake cheese sauce and a diet soda, plus a few handfuls of her popcorn. I didn't feel too bad about that, and I was hungry when I got home. I grabbed two fig newton bars (1 package) and my daily Lindt ball. When I woke up this morning I had a .5 loss on the home scale, so I'm happy with that. I try not to get too excited about the home scale losses, because when I go to WW, sometimes it's just totally different.
I think I may take today off from the treadmill (I've done 3 days in a row), or at least that's my thinking this morning. I have some household stuff I'd like to accomplish, and I think I could use a little mental break from exercise. But I will be eating properly, I promise!
Jen -- You're barbecue sounds fantastic! I will bring marinated, grilled asparagus and s'mores! Seriously, kudos to you for trying to hold a healthy party. You're my kind of hostess!
Lesli -- I think a Onederland Party is a fabulous idea! I'll bring the goody bags, full of encouragement and group hugs!
Debra -- Why do we marry these men with better metabolism, etc., than we have?! My dh was 140 soaking wet when we got married. We probably weigh about the same now, but he needs to lose 15 lbs. When he starts running, it just comes right off. It's downright depressing to watch. But, I do definitely want to weigh less than he does, when he's fit!
Agotta -- you are doing great! 6.5 lbs. is really something to shout about!!
Tara -- I am also a huge fan of the tankini. My body is two distinct sizes, and the top is much smaller. Figures. Buying two separate pieces allows me to get a suit I feel comfortable in all over.
Tracy -- Lesli gave great advice. It really is getting back on, and just taking babysteps to make better choices, that makes a difference. Every time I do one little thing, I feel so much better.
Tera -- So, what is your favorite thing to wear as a size 8 that you would not have gone near before? Did you get rid of all your larger clothes? Did you wake up one day and nothing fit, or was it gradual for you?
Sue -- When I really want something, if I don't eat it I find myself eating 10 of them later in the day. I think it is better to just satisfy the craving you have, and move on.
Lacerta -- You are so good to get out and have fresh air with your exercise!
Kathy -- You are my walking idol! I am so impressed that you had another walk after dinner! You go girl!
Lisa -- Great idea checking out the food online before you get to the grocery store. What a great way to know what you really want!
Sorry, I accidentally posted too soon. If I missed someone, I'll catch you next time!
Now on to a happy, holiday tomorrow!
