My story.. LOL.. Ive been overweight all my life.. I always knew I was overweight, but I was NEVER one of "those people" You know the kind that people look at and think how did they get so bad.. Well I was one of those people.. I started noticing things like tying my shoes and being out of breath, and having to put deoridunt in my rolls, and all sorts of RED FLAGS.. that should have waken me up, but they didnt..
Well I planned and planned our first Family trip to Disney, and got on the plane and the seat belt didnt close, so I asked for a seatbelt extender.. Now my DD wanted to go on Goofys Rollercoaster, Would I fit? I wasnt sure so I spent most of my trip sending DH on things I had read about the whole year before planning for... While I stayed with my son who was 15 months old at the time..
Got back from Disney and got some of the photos developed and there was one of me in front of the Dinosaur at AK.. Well Im so huge in the photo, I had to take a second look at who was the dinosaur..
DH was at the point that we went no where together because I was embarrasing to him, (I was so angry at the time, but now how could I blame him) He was Never nasty to me, he just distanced himself.. He started taking care of the house and kids after his 2 jobs, because I just couldnt do it..
Well after some long talks with him after Disney, I joined the Gym and started going with my sister.. I was working out 4 times a week of 1 hour of cardio and Loosing Nothing.. (I didnt change my eating habits at that point) Then I got fed up and started doing WW ( at home) and the gym.. I lost 20lbs.. then hurt my leg BADLY (torn Ligaments etc...) that I couldnt walk for almost 10 weeks normally... Then off the diet I went and gained 10 back, then back to the gym lost and gained for awhile.. Then I hit 40lbs off, Woo hoo.. So back to Disney I went (40lbs took me about a year) Got back from Disney and didnt go back to WW or the gym.. So I gained 20 back.. Then I just was getting so fed up with it all at this time, I said all the exercise in the world isnt going to do anything if I dont change the way I eat.. High fat, binges...
So back to WW.. This time around I didnt do the "Diet" I never eat diet food, I dont eat fruit for breakfast etc.. I dont like a Big salad etc.. So why would I eat that way to loose weight. all the while waiting to loose the weight to start eating the food I liked again.. So I took it slow.. I took foods I like and changed some around, and portion Controll was my BIGGY!! So over the next year I lost another 40lbs and went back to Disney.. I was under 200's then.. Feeling good.. Then I said to myself why not go to the gym while DS is in Pre school 2x's a week. Im paying the 45 dollars a month weather I go or not.. So I started doing that.. And I still have 4 months till my next Disney trip and Ive lost 40 lbs.. Bringing me to 159 from 283. I just started looking at things differently this time around.. I go to Disney I gained 9lbs in 1 week, It comes off in the next 2-3 weeks, People with out weight problems gain weight while on vacation, during the holidays etc.. So why would I beat myself up and quit if I did too? So that was my motto, and it seems to be working!!
As far as Shopping, Im honestly havent bought alot, smaller Tee shirts, and smaller Streach pants..I will be honest, Im still terrified to gain this back..
So I continue on in hopes that one day soon, I will get used to myself in this smaller body and start acting like a person in the 150s instead of the 280's I was in that size for so long, My head hasnt caught up to my body..

Wow.. I hadnt realized that I typed that much.. Well thats my story.. I will keep you all updated and hope lots of you join me in the 150's soon!!!

I love your story. That is so great! What does you husband say now?

We are going to WDW in 3 weeks, and I am going to eat whatever I want, but when I get home, back to watching what I eat.

I am just accepting that for day to day eating, I need to watch what I eat, but for special occassions and vacations, I can let my guard down.

Keep up the good work. I wish we could see before and after pictures! I bet you look a lot different.

That is great, congratulations on your loss. Your story is so inspirational, keep up to hard work.

This weekend went well for me, since my DH doesn't get holidays off, we didn't have any parties to go to so staying on plan was easy for me. The weather was great here, and we spent all day the past 3 days outside working on the deck and playing with the kids. This morning DH played outside with the kids for about 1 hour while I caught up on the housework.

I hope everyone had a good holiday.

Evening everyone!!

I have been MIA over the weekend. I don't know where the time went :) Went shopping with DD17 and DD20 and did some major damage. :rotfl: I don't think DH will be happy when I tell him :rotfl2:

DD17 has had a rough weekend. Friday night had to call the therapist because the anxiety got so bad. She had a visit on Sunday and she said it helped alittle. Still a long road ahead. Therapist is looking for a psych dr to prescribe long term meds. Two more weeks of school - sigh - her boyfriends prom is this Friday and it looks iffy for her to make it through the night........keep your fingers crossed.

Ok OK - time for me to recommit........here is what I am going to do

GET MY BIG OLD BUTT MOVING AND EXERCISE!! THAT MEANS ME - ME GETTING UP TOMORROW MORNING AND MOVING!! Did I sound convincing? :rotfl2:

DRINK MY WATER!! NO MORE EATING AFTER 7:30 (wow that Dove ice cream taste really good tonight yummmmmmmmmmm)..........

So what do you think - did my head heard what words were coming out of my mouth? :rotfl2:

Morning All!! :flower:

Got my BIG OLD BUTT out of bed this morning and did Leslie Sansone's 2 mile Brisk walk and I FEEL GOOD - Nah Nah Nah :dancer:

I really need to make the effort to get back to where I was before all this started with DD17 for my physical and especially my mental health :rotfl: Even though my family would laugh at the state of my mental health :rotfl2:

Also have to get back to being faithful to WW........no more eating.......at least stop eating what is not good for me. :goodvibes

6 more class room days....Woo Hoo!! Alittle nervous about no money coming in this summer but I can't bring myself to work. Too burnt out........need to recharge the batteries :banana: :banana:

My kids still have 10 more days. They finish on Monday, June 13th. I can't believe we still have that many more days when most schools have finished already! Our school started a week late, but this year they are starting when the others start so we can be done at the end of May also.

WAY TO GO ON doing the Sansone sashay into fitness!!! :) I'll be sending prayers your way for this weekend's prom...I'm just hoping these last 6 days of school will be easy for her and the summer will bring healing. I know this has got to be tough on you...hang in there and keep your fitness goals going forward...it'll help you through!

Regina...don't you just love holiday weekends where there's no planned events??? It's soo relaxing!! I did alot of yard work and we hoped to stain our deck but it kept threatening to rain...we've never had a deck before...I bet you're an old pro at it! :) You'll have a GREAT week with having watched your eating so well over the weekend!

Mel!!! YOU DID IT!! YOU DID IT!!! And you're going to finally find a place that feels like GOAL...don't worry about putting it back on...get yourself a goal weight then give yourself a 5 pound leeway...if you go over that marker...then modify or adjust your eating/exercising..you're right on when you mentioned portions..that's my biggest downfall...I had lost 90 pounds in college and kept it off for 9 years...the only reason I put back the weight were my pregnancies...I was just nauseous every day until week 36 and food was the only thing that made it feel better...I had three babies close together so the weight kept packing on...I know once I get below 150 I will never gain the weight back...the hard part for me is getting these last 25-30 pounds gone...but seeing you cruise down there and not giving up makes it easier to charge down that path...thanks for your words of inspiration!!!

I did not do the low carb thing yesterday..ran out of groceries...the yard work and house chores kept me from making it to the grocery...so I slimfasted one meal and ate small portions the others...the cheat I had was a handful of Pringles...ugh...that's my goal for today is to make it through without any cheats...I had slimfast for breakfast and I'll head to the store to get back some good veggies and healthy snack foods. Also, going to drink my water!!!!

Let's kick it this month!!! MAY ends today!!! This is the first month I did not meet my weight goal...and actually gained I'm sure...so I'm just throwing the month of May out and starting fresh with June...lots of opp's to swim and hike this summer...so I'll take advantage of it!!! :)

Losing the pounds in summer!!! Say it with me all who feel the same...THIS IS THE LAST SUMMER that I will be above my goal weight!!!! :cheer2:

We are resort hopping this time. I know we are crazy, BUT we love checking out the Disney resorts. We are starting at the Caribbean Beach Resort and we are hoping to have time to go sailing while we are there (DH is into sailing). Then we move to Boardwalk for 1 night because we have a DIS Party at Epcot that night for Illuminations and we liked the idea of just walking back to our room (we have stayed there before). Then we move to Old Key West in a studio. We have stayed in a 1 bedroom, but never a studio and we wanted to see what they were like. Then we go to Disney's Vero Beach for a Garden View Inn room. We went there last year and really enjoyed it, so we wanted to go back again this year.

We are only going to the parks one day and a waterpark one day (TL). We have PSs at Chef Mickeys for dinner and Boma for breakfast. Other than that, we are doing counter services.

We are excited, I am just hoping it isn't as hot as it was last year. My DD with asthma had a hard time last year from the heat but she did great at Vero Beach. So we are trying to make this more of a 'water' vacation with lots of time at the resort pools, the waterpark and the beach. With only one day at the parks, we plan to leave in the afternoon when the air get so heavy and she has more trouble, and head back to the resort for swimming (she seems to be fine when she is swimming). BUT our MUST is to see WISHES that night. We saw it once and loved it, and we really want to see it again.

I am leaving for WDW in 4 days! Can't wait to get all that walking in! We finished with painting BIL's house (for the most part) and now it is time to concentrate on the packing for WDW! :banana:

DJ - We are resort hopping as well. Not what we originally planned, but it will give us a chance to check out a few other places. We start at BWV for 3 nights, then go over to BCV for 5 nights, and finish up at SSR for 4 nights. I can't wait!

Mel6197 - Thanks for the great story. You are definitely right about not giving up after you gain a few lbs from vacation or the holidays.

Linda - Great job at getting back on track. Hope things get better for your DD.

Tara - Keep on focusing on the goal. This month is done so time to start anew.

I was pleasantly surprised to have lost 1.4 pounds this week. I had a tough weekend with in-laws in town and lots of eating out. I got through all of that and still lose, so I'm THRILLED. My total is 53.4 pounds and a weight of 154.6

I want to lose the 1.6 for next week to get my 55 pound clippie and then I'll be working towards getting under 150.

Wow, 140's... I never thought I would ever weigh that again.

Linda-Loving the attitude. Whoever said weight loss was boring is right but it's probably because they were suffering from attiudinalitis (lack of any attitude at all!) I like to call this the Wet Fish disease. :) Hope your daughter will have better days. I really don't know what to say other than P&PD headed your way from me. I know how you feel-4 days left!!!!!! Yahoo!

Tara- This is HOPEFULLY the last summer I will be above goal weight!

Have fun DJ! Pack me in your suitcase. You won't even notice I'm there until the suitcase gets heavy!!!

Have fun Lesli. Go to Beaches and Cream and enjoy it for all of us (or just me!)

I am doing WW and I am down 9 in 3 weeks so far! Also doing Leslie Sansone's walking program because it is too hot to walk outside here now!

Did not get up this morning to exercise and can feel it. :sad2:

Three days until the big prom........and plans change at a moment's notice. :crazy: DD17 has an appt with a psych dr tomorrow at 3:45 for some longer term meds :flower: :flower: Right now she takes 1 step forward and 2 steps backwards. Hanging in there...........both of us :)

On top of this my best friend's mother passed away yesterday after a long battle with cancer. :sad2: Very sad but relieved for the family that they don't need to see her suffer anymore. Funeral is also tomorrow along with the psych dr.

Plus if that was not enough the DDs and I are suppose to go see the play WICKED tomorrow night. Tried to get the tickets changed because of the funeral and the theatre wouldn't let us - all sold out.

Can anything else be scheduled for tomorrow? :rotfl: Oh yes besides the psych dr, funeral and Wicked, DD17 also has her therapist appt. So I have to call her in late in the morning but call her out of school early in the afternoon. School is going to loooooooooooove that :eek:

So hang in there with me through Saturday and the worst of the last few weeks will be over :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We're trying to decide between Poly/YC/BC/BWI....I was set on YC...but with the Poly's redo rooms..it's really tempting...my ds has asthma and a nice clean new room is always a plus! Any pointers from you guys would be great!! Let all that walking sculpt those legs! :)

UGH!!>>>STRESS hit again and I failed miserably last night on my eating...chicken tenders and fries...then a little Debbie fudge cake...ugh....I did slimfast for breakfast...don't think that'll make up for it..my dh called yesterday am to let me know that 2 of his team (software engineering team) gave their notice and are flying the coop. My dh is soo loyal to his company, but he's feeling led to consider leaving as well...good things could happen from this but it's just another unknown we'll have to face over the next few months...I don't do well with unknowns and seeing him anxious...he didn't sleep a wink last night. He went to work at 5:30 this morning which is 2 hours earlier just to start his day and get his thoughts together. So, here I am on June 1st trying to make a fresh start again...that little engine of mine is sputtering but moving forward! :)

Well I love Beach Club! My girl LOVE the pool! It is the best one at WDW! I love the easy walk over to Epcot (our favorite park). Also, if you want to continue walking while at Disney, the walk around the lake starting at Beach Club and over to Boardwalk is great! We don't do it for exercise, we just enjoy the walk (especially at night).

The Poly is nice, and quick to MK, but we stayed there last year and we all decided we still like Beach Club the best. We are trying to stay at all of the resorts at least once. So far Beach Club is first and Wilderness Lodge is second in order of our favorite. We haven't stayed at YC yet, but it is right next to BC and I like the brighter colors of BC.

BUT no matter where you stay, all the resorts have thier highlights. We haven't stayed at one yet that we didn't like! We even like the All Stars and Pop Century!

We are trying CBR for the first time on this upcoming trip and in March we are going to try SSR for the first time (if I can get our reservation in with points at the 7 month mark--BCV is our home resort for DVC).

If it comes down to brass tacks, why don't you make up your own plan-eat until you're full and make healthy choices. You know your own limits!
