Hi Ladies!
I'm back from Nashville! It was so gorgeous -- nearly 80 degrees and sunny

. Definitely a great break, and luckily for me a great conference. My hotel even upgraded me to concierge, and I have no idea why?!
Since most of the meals were provided, I didn't have alot of choices. They were also "working" meals, so I couldn't duck out and find something else. On the bright side, seeing all the people even larger than I around me was very motivating.
Yesterday I got back on the TM, and dh has arranged for the repair person to come on Friday, so I should really be able to use it this weekend. It has an issue with incline and speed, so I've been using it very gingerly. Now I'll be able to work harder!
I'm also thinking more about my eating, and I can't wait to get "You: On a Diet". It's at the library as I write, so tonight I'm going to dive into it. As long as it isn't too quacky, I intend to follow it for a few months to see what happens. When it was featured on Oprah, they had women who had lost alot of weight in a few months. That's the kind of jumpstart I need! I eat way too much sugar and carbs, so if I have a meal plan in front of me, that's always better.
Dona -- Thank you for your work with the food pantry. Hunger is a huge problem in this country, which is shameful. A lot of food pantries need to get everything they can this time of year, because for some reason donations get really slim the rest of the year. People eat year-round (duh!), so this stock up season is very important. I'm getting off my soapbox now, but thank you again for helping others!
Melissa -- I hope your CT scan went well. TOM unexpectedly appeared for me Friday night, so I understand your pain!

Thanks for the encouragement. I am not going to give up. At this point I can't quite, so the only thing I can do is keep trying until I succeed!
CoasterAddict -- Did you find that fabulous dress?! I have a love/hate shopping relationship with clothes...
Wendy -- How are you feeling? Those inner ear things can make you crazy. We literally didn't go out in public for a year when my dh had a virus. He had vertigo like you wouldn't believe...oh, wait, I bet you would!
Tara -- I am so proud of you for creating a new walking habit! You are doing great. But you're right, being busy is not getting us where we want to be. There are 47 days until January 1st. We have six weeks to make a real difference. If we make a commitment now and stick with eating and exercise, we will be very happy in six weeks. At 2 lbs. a week, that would be 12 lbs.!
Disneyfanz04 -- I am so proud of you! You are doing it! Please share some of your methods for those of us that are floundering a bit...
Linda, Kathy, and everyone else -- Six weeks. In six weeks, we start a new year. I don't want to have the same New Year's resolutions -- I want to be ahead of the game by starting now. Let's get a jump on all those January losers!
