Way to go Lisa!!! :cheer2: :cool1:

Good morning Club 150! Boy, was I frustrated yesterday! I weighed in at home and weighed 204 which means I held steady for the week. I went to my grandma's house last night (she has a digital scale) and I weighed in at 215.5! :earseek: I'm not sure whose scale is "accurate" , but I have had enough! I have worked out for over a year now and I have been "maintaining" a weight that I am not happy with. I think it has to do with my food choices. So, in the near future, DH and I are going on the South Beach Diet. I will be making some other changes as well: no eating after 8:00 p.m., drinking tons of water, and bumping up my exercise a notch. I want this weight gone! :wave2:

I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday! Think Spring!! :sunny:

You CAN do it! :cheer2:

Tracy~ I need to THINK SPRING!!! I am in such a horrible Feb. Blah!! It has been so cold and gray outside that I feel like I am going crazy!

I am off to search some threads on Oprah's bootcamp. I want to join, but am afraid...you know what I mean?? I am afraid that I will fail, that I won't be able to stay on track with the right foods, exercising, etc.... AGH... I can talk myself out of almost anything....

Give me a boost all!!!

Tracy!!! Dadblast those scales!! I think we could make a fortune marketing a scale blaster tool! :) But you're right...regardless of the scale we all need to get to a healthy and manageable weight. I went off WISH last year to deal with life (still haven't sold our house! UGH) and realized I need to live healthy regardless of what's going on around me. South Beach Diet really works for me....it made me very conscious of how much crud I put into my body...how few vegetables I put in and how much all the ketchup and sauces add up! :) You'll be THRILLED with your first weeks loss...and don't be discouraged by weeks 2 and 3 when it comes off much more slowly...it takes time for your body to adjust...and setting a time at night to stop eating will be a huge help for you! You can do this!!! We're going to get you into Onederland..stick with your scales...they all show loss..just not all the same starting number! :) A pound is a pound and we'll help you get them going! :)

Elizabeth!! You can do Oprah's boot camp!!! If I can stick with it...I know anyone can! Simply it's 20 minutes weight training...I only have two weights so it takes me longer (1 10 lb weight and 1 3 lb weight) I work Oprah's "Favorites" and then I do 30-40 minutes of aerobics/pilates/whatever tape I have on hand....for two days a week I walk 4 miles in an hour to get those extra two 30 minutes in. I've only done it since last Tuesday but I can feel my body getting leaner and stronger..the scale has only moved a pound since then but I can tell my body is responding to all this exercise! :) We're here for you !!!!

Hi Team!! :sunny:

Well I met with the trainer at the fitness center and have an idea what kind of a program to do. Just need to sit down and figure out what I am doing on which day.

Also met with the doctor and he has reduced my visits to every 4 weeks!! :flower: He is going to give me a month to see how I do with the exercise and healthy eating.........My next D-Day is March 24.....need to see results by then or else he told me he would be giving me a "swift kick in the no know where":)

Also has me taking a baby aspirin a day for prevention of stroke/heart.

Well off to start dinner (chicken and veggie stirfry) and then to the walking track with my friends.

Have a good evening and don't forget the chant!!

No eating after 7:30pm!!
Keep Moving!!
One day at a time!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Have a magical Disney Day!!
Linda

LISA! WAY TO GO! We are all so proud of you and you keep us all going!

Good ol Gal - You can do the bootcamp and it really kicks up the results.

Linda - I'm sending you lots of :wizard: :wizard: on starting your new program. It must be great meeting with a trainer, they can give you all sorts of good pointers. Pass them on!

Tara - How is bootcamp going? I had my day 6 treat and did not suffer on the scales for it. Kicking the treadmill up to 34 min tonight. Got a good movie to keep my mind off the clock. ;)

Good luck to everyone this week!

Tracy

Hey guys!!! Boot camp is kicking my tail! :) I just completed day 6 and tomorrow is my REST DAY!!!! WAHOO!!! What will I do with myself??? I've alternated between two DVD (cardio pilates/Weightloss Workout by Kathy Smith) and walking 4 miles for my 2 days of hour long workouts + doing the free weights on my arms/shoulders. I really need to get more water...what little water I take in is being zapped up with all this exercise...

Linda! I LOVE that chant...can you add drink your water to it??? I especially love that one day at a time. Linda, take good care of yourself...focus on your chant and you'll see a big grin on your doctor's face come March 24th!!! Live healthy be active...you are such a great motivator here...we'll keep you kicking and living well until that doctor gives you a GREEN light! :)

Tracy...what movie??? Let us know if it's good! That sounds like a great way to spend my day off of exercise...:) Yeah, I know it's a day off of exercise but I can't relinquish my habit for couch sitting! :) But with out TV on the blitz....you might see many many posts from me the next few weeks. I think it's senseless to buy a TV when we hope to move in a few weeks...risking dropping that thing...I say just pack up all the entertainment stuff and try roughing it for that time...atleast I can play my exercise videos on the computer! :)

Onwards and I'm off to down some water!!! :)

Let's get healthy gang!!
Tara

Today was an easy day. I don't work on Mondays so I spent the day at home with DH until he left for work at 2pm, and the boys. DS4 had his 4 yr check up today and did get the last 3 immunizations he needed before he starts school, so he was feeling a little tired this afternoon. I did 15min on my eliptical machine.

Tera - We are just dreaming about what we would buy if we could afford it. We do have a 2002 - 30ft wildwood with a bunk house and supper-slide. This trailer fits our needs perfectly and even has enough room for my parents to camp with us. When we go to Disney in Dec. it will be us 4, my parents and the family dog, a 100lbs shepard, dalmatation mix. The in-laws are camping in the site next to us.

sarahsmom that chant is stuck in my head!!! :rotfl:

I maintained last week so I really need to amp it up this week! :Pinkbounc I am in my 4 week crunch for my weekend in the mountains with hubby.

Ok, team members let's get busy!! :grouphug: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Well I'm officially out of the 170's and into the 160's!!!

Today's weigh in went well and I lost 2.8 pounds for a total of 40.6 pounds and down to 167.4 :teeth: I haven't been at this weight since I met my DH about 15 years ago, so starting to feel good. I still need to lose atleast 20 before our cruise, which is going to be tough. Only 8.4 more pounds to get to those 150's :cool1: :cool1:

Woohoo! It's Tuesday morning - AFTER the 10K race. :cool1:

I've been catching up on a couple of days of posts - and wow! I'm so impressed by the weight losses - and the motivation to perservere even if the scale won't budge... :badpc:

Forgive me - but I have to do a banana dance -

I ran my personal best in the race (not fast - but definitely fun for an "adult-onset" runner) :teeth:

NyCPA: Thanks for the beautiful pictures of snow - I forgot how pretty snow can be - but I understand how it can also make for a long winter (I lived in Chicago for 8 years) - OK, anyone up for a Dismeet in Honolulu? :grouphug:

Have a great week everyone!

Iris :wave2:

Regina!! That's a BIG family dog!!! I bet he's a cutie!!! Have a great trip in December...just think of how fit and energetic you'll be!!! :) And 15 minutes on elliptical would be killer for me...I can walk 1 hour on the treadmill at a 16 minute pace but can't go 10 minutes on the elliptical....???? TOUGH!

Sarahsmom!!! After today's daily weigh in...I have been SINGING your chant!!! I've been to potty more times than I care to mention...I've had 48 ounces of water so far and that's ALOT for me! Not to mention I had chicken broth with lunch....but I'm going to get my water in come high water! :) Thanks for the reminder and cheers!!!

Tiggerkeeper...move and eat healthy, move and eat healthy, move and eat healthy and that MOUNTAIN GETAWAY will show off a GREAT FIT YOU!!! Dh will be mighty impressed too!! Make sure you plan some long nature hikes to show off your stamina! :) Have a great trip!

Tera!!!! You are ROCKING THE BOAT BABY!!! :jumping1: CONGRATS ON THE 160's!!!!! And you just didn't sneak in you SANK into the 160's! :) You are a HUGE inspiration!! SHARE YOUR LOSING TIPS!!! :) We are going to help you make that cruise GOAL weight!!! Just imagine sipping a cool beverage on a lounge chair satisfied that all this hard work has made for one healthy fit body!! :) GREAT JOB!!!

Iris!!!    I have to put some bananas to your personal best if you don't mind!!! That is WONDERFUL!!! All that training and hard work paid off in spades!! I would love a WISH meet-up in Honolulu!!! When's the next 10k???? We'll get there one day! :) So how do you feel today??? Are you sore after putting forth your personal best or was you body so well conditioned it just worked like a machine? I'm sooo happy for you!!!

Now where are those scale BLASTERS????? I had a decent weigh in yesterday (Thursdays are official) of 192...ate very well yesterday...one piece of toast, salad with egg/bacon/onion, 5 pretzel matchstick size, 10 chocolate chips, hamburger pattie (cooked in Dale's Seasoning...I KNOW THIS IS THE CULPRIT!) and green beans....and I worked out for an hour last night and this morning I was up 1.5 pounds!! HUH? So I'm following Sarahsmom chant and I'm drinking loads of water today...after a no loss last week and being on Boot camp for a week...I want those scales to MOVE! :) But I can tell my clothes are looser so that's a plus...

ONWARDS & DOWNWARDS!!
Tara

Thanks Tara - I can't wait to get that beautiful 55 pound clippie you have ;) Pretty soon....

Well I'm doing Weight Watchers and it's really working for me. I keep track of my points and very rarely ever go over. I think writing everything down that I eat every day really helps.

Like Jen says, Water water water... I drink atleast 100 ounces a day, usually more like 120. I know that's alot, especially for people who can't get up to go the bathroom as often during the day, but get as much as you can. I find when I eat something that isn't really "good" for me, especially if it's loaded with sodium, if I suck down water, it really helps. DH and I went up to Estes Park this past weekend and I ate a lot more than usual and still was able to lose 2.8 pounds. I credit it to the water :drinking1:

Exercise is another saving grace. I do weights 3 days a week and some form of cardio 5 days. I've started running on the treadmill and have gotten up to 4.5 miles in an hour, which is good for me.

I try not to eat after 7:00pm, even though I've heard that it doesn't matter, but it keeps me honest ;)

That's about it for my program. It's working for me and hope to be at my goal weight by July (about 136-140), so about another 30 pounds to go.

Tere - I'm right behind ya! Still hanging in there at the 170's (went up to 171) this morning. :sad2: But that is ok I only count them once a week. I hope I can jump into the 160's as good as you did! :cheer2:

Thanks for the motivation!

Tracy

Hey Tracy - Good for you!!! I'm sure you'll be in the 160's in no time. Don't let me get too ahead of you ;) Drink LOTS of water and we'll be celebrating for you in no time :sunny:

Today I made a large pot of chicken noodle soup, so that I will have something to eat for lunch the rest of the week. I also did 15 min of weights today. I also drank 72oz of water, today a pretty much stayed on program.

Iris - Great job on the 10K, I can't imagine running a 10K.

Tara- To imagine what my dog looks like picture a black lab (the father was a black shepard), with a few white patches on the chest a paws, anywhere there is white, she has the dalmation spots. Yes, 100lbs is large, our vet said 60lbs tops when we took her in for the 1st visit.

Regina

WTG everyone on their progress :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Managed to do 25 min on TM today w/3 min running. Signed up the Half next Jan. My daughter thinks she talked me into it, but my inspiration is all of you.

I try to drink alot of water and usually manage about 64 oz. My goal for the week is no soda or candy bars. day 2 and i haven't caved. only 5 more to go :rotfl: :rotfl:

I met with a triner at the gym who told me the best way for me to try and loose is to eat more. I manage to put my body in atarvation mode at at times by not eating enough. I usually make up for it on Sunday's (my worst day) Have to try to keep even on the calorie side.

ONward and Downward :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am down 4.5 lbs for the week. That makes me 5.5/28.5. I think my listing on the list is for 19 or something but sadly it is not.
The great thing is I lost 4.5 lbs. I haven't been exercising hardly any but I have really been watching food ( trying to following Dr. Phil's plan) and not eating after 7:30.
I also have been doing this for most of the month with only 1 pound until this week so I am thinking it just all caught up. I can't wait to hit the 170's.
I really need to add the exercise. I have meeting out of town half of this week but Thursday I am going to go exercise. I have to keep this down.
I am on my way. I just feel better. I know the exercise will help even more.
Best of luck to all this week.

Good morning everyone!

Man those water bottles! We have some fat to flush!!! :cool1:
