This is what I love about these boards!! All the support and understanding you get. Here it is almost 8pm and I didn't have any of that cake! I held off!! Yippee!!

I am going to drink another glass of water, only 2 more to go for my goal of 72oz for today, and feel good about myself. Dreaming of myself in a nice looking pair of shorts. Where I just maybe able to see... what are those??? my toes??!!!

I made it to exercise at our local YMCA. (It is a great Y and it felt good to be back exercising after a few months break.)
Why don't I exercise more if I feel so much better afterwards?
I am going to exercise the next three days, take Sunday off and then hit the Oprah exercise plan on MOnday.
I really like this board. I haven't ever done this before just lurked and the communication really does help.
Here's to a good day for us all tomorrow.

Tinkcindy.... it is a real nice place to turn to for support and encouragement. Glad that you finally decided to start joining in! Here's to a great day tomorrow and the one after that.. and the one after that... :wizard:

GOOD OL GAL!!!!!

You DID IT!!!! :cheer2: You avoided the you know what!! I won't even grace it's name here! :) Do you know how HUGE that is? YOU made the DECISION to choose WISELY!!! Don't we know it's soo hard to do..but the more we meet these challenges head on...the less challenge they present at future opportunities....we're developing good habits...let's live our lives HEALTHY!

TINK CINDY!!! ...that's IT!!!! Moving it moving it...your attitude changes...you feel a tingle in all your body parts....you crave more water...you get a healthy glow on your face...and you feel STRONGER for it! Why oh why can't we KNOW this and resist the temptation to sleep in or pick up a routine the next day? Keep sharing how GREAT it feels to get out there and move your muscles...it'll start a revolution!!! :)

I couldn't find a video..so I remembered 5 key aerobics steps that I put together and did sets of 16 then 12 then 8 then 4 and repeated until the clock had passed 30 minutes...I'm wondering if there are any aerobics programs I can do on the internet??? I don't have cable and there are no shows on my programming at early am...but I'm determined to buy one tomorrow..Target should have the FIRM...Wal-Mart just had a video...I need a DVD. But I did complete the first Opray Boot DAy....even if it was a little homemade! :)

Tara

Tara great job on first day of boot camp. :cool1:

I wish I had your determintation but I can think of alot of excuses for not exercising ie:working 8-10 hours, 2 hour of pt, home at 7 and eat supper. I told dd1(future doctor aka xterratri) that i would get up at 5 am to work out :rotfl2: but ionly reset my alarm to 7 instead. it's hard to get motivated when you know it's only 18 degrees out and you may have to clean snow and ice off the car. the bed is so warm and cozy.

Only in cny can you have thunder and lightning in the middle of a snow storm. Snow is forcasted for the next 5 days. Accumulations could be any amount or none at all depending on how the storms track. So much for spring being right around the corner. :confused3 :confused3

Good Ole Gal keep up with the good work. :Pinkbounc

TINK CINDY!!! Exercise is good :cheer2: keep up the effort

Tara - I too have made a mental challenge to myself to give Oprah's boot camp a try. On Tuesday I got back on the wagon and went to lunch with a friend and had a wonderful salad for lunch. But by the time I got back to the office I was extremely ill. Long story short I had LOTS of time in the bathroom for the next 4 hrs. I got home and fixed the kids dinner (nothing for me). My DH made me drink some Gatorade (believe it or not I was freaking out about the carbs in the drink) did the homework with the kids and got them to bed. I started to think I had two choices. Go straight to bed or try to do some type of workout. I took the challenge and did some weight training. Drank a whole lot of water and still felt good and I got on the WM and made it to my 32 minutes. My DH said I was crazy but I felt OK and boy did I sleep that night.

Today I ate all good things. Lots of water. 15 min of weight training and another 32 minutes on the TM. I'm hoping the scales are good for me tomorrow. :wizard:

I do have a workout treat that I would like to share. I'm a full time working mom to two wonderful kids, DD (6) and DS (4). My workouts start after everyone has gone to bed (around 8:30) One night I was complaining to my DH that I hate to workout and watch network TV. My DH signed me up for blockbuster.com. It is so wonderful. $15.99 a month! You pick three dvd's at a time and they deliver them to my door. Mail one back and they send you another one. Plus you get two movies in your local store a month. I pick out the chickie movies that my DH would never watch with me. I usually takes about 3 days for me to watch a movie durning my workouts. I did see that they have a lot of workout dvd's to choose from. That might be helpful to you and that way you could have a variety.

I'm sorry this is so long. I thought I would pass on somthing that I do to keep me working out and out of the kitchen looking for snacks in the evening.

Have a great rest of the week everyone! Keep Sweatin. :cheer2: :cheer2:
Tracy

Good morning everyone

I resisted the urge to reset the alarm to 7 and did 32 min on the stationary bike. I should have done more but i want to be at work by about 6:30. I cheated and hit the snooze once. :cool1: :cool1:

Hope everyone has a good day. By the times of some of these posts, it appears that some of us never sleep.

Off to work doing taxes. Did I ever say this time of year can be a pain :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Morning Team!!

This cheerleader needs a cheer and boost!! :sad2:

Not happy at all. I have been swimming the last two days and working out in the morning. Doing pretty good and feeling pretty good. Well I let my neighbor with her crazy dog talk me into walking with them when I got home from swimming. I like her but the dog could stay home. In the last 2 years of walking (semi regularly) with her he has never greeted me. Just doesn't acknowledge me and hates all the other dogs in the neighborhood. Anyway went with her in 30 degree windy weather and last night I was so sore that I had to take something. Was not able to work out this morning and am not going swimming after work :(

Also I snuck a peek on the scale yesterday and saw 168 YIPPEE!! Today is the official weigh in day and saw 169.5 UGH!!!!! :confused3

Help!!!! Need a hug and some advice. :grouphug: What should I do after work come home and not work out or try yoga or what..........REALLY FRUSTRATED about my soreness and the scale....grrrrrrrrrrr

Thanks for listening.

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Are you all reading what I'm reading????

Good Ol Gal Got 72 ounces of WATER IN!!!!

TINK CINDY GOT A YMCA WORKOUT!!!!

NYCPA GOT UP BEFORE SUNRISE!!! TO EXERCISE!!!!

TRACY has a GREAT WAY to get variety in your workouts....AND she worked out after taking a beating with bad lunch.

SARAH'S MOM is always in such good spirits!!!!

Are y'all seeing a great change in all of us?? I can attest that I've never worked out or wanted to this much for the past 4 months! I avoided eating leftover bugles on my kids plates :cheer2: I drank all my water yesterday! :flower:

We're making some pretty WISE CHOICES team!!! Keep it up!!! The scales and measuring tape will be our friends! :)

Oh, and Tracy I hope you're feeling better...I don't recommend pushing yourself unless you really feel stronger...those bad lunches can wipe out your good minerals and stuff...and on the gatorade...GREAT at replenshing...with all the water you followed it up with the carbs will mean nothing! And your body probably used them before they had time to convert to anything other than fuel! :) Thanks for the tip on the videos...that sounds right up my alley! :)

ON DOWN TEAM!!!
Tara

CHRIS MISS!!!! You did the right thing!!! You came here!!! You are just reacting to that nasty number on the scales...anytime you start exercising your body is going through adjustments. You're using muscles you never used before...they require more fluid to help develop themselves...I always put on 1-2 pounds the week I pump up the exercise...even though my eating hasn't changed. But it takes 7-10 days for your body to adjust and get used to it...that's why it's so important that once you start don't stop...get atleast 3 days a week in. As those muscles repair and strengthen they become more efficient.

Now at bedtime instead of your body just using your energy for breathing and pumping that blood...it will be taking energy from that storage we call fat to feed those muscles!!! A good sign to know that it's water weight is to move your muscles around..are they tender? Then they're taking on water! Once you stop feeling the tenderness and they start feeling stronger you'll see the scale move!!! You're doing GREAT!!! And for some reason berries are very good to me when I'm sore...I eat raspberries or strawberries and within a day or two I feel better...could be mental persuasion...but it works! :)

SO FEEL GREAT!!!! That you've pumped up your exercises and within a couple of weeks you'll be amazed at how you can lose weight so well! Try to avoid caffeine this week if you can...that will soak up some of the water your muscles need. The quicker we get them repaired..the faster the water leaves!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Let's hear it for CHRIS MISS our swimming champ!!!

Tara

Well...I must say I'm pleased with a maintain week...lost not an ounce! :) But all week was TOM and I kicked up the exercise a bit..so I'm probably a few centimeters smaller atleast! :) I'm hoping for a big WHOOSH week for next Thursday's weigh in!!! I've targeted 9 pounds between now and March 17th! :) Aggressive but it'll put me at my lowest since last year...I'm ready to see the 170's!!! I was at 193 today.

ON down gang!!!
Tara

NYcpa – Good for you, not resetting the alarm and exercising instead!

Tracy – All I can say is Wow, working out after having such a rough day. WTG! I hope you are feeling better. :sunny:

I weighed in on Monday and gained a pound, which just about threw me into a tail spin. I did go out to eat after the meeting and I ate 2 brownies when I got home. I felt so miserable afterward. I got up the next morning still a little (OK, a lot) irritated but instead of stopping for breakfast on my way to work like I normally do I made myself a 1 point breakfast grabbed a bottle of water and headed out the door.

I’m not going to let that measly little pound get the best of me! I even did a total of 70 minutes of exercise last night, about double of what I normally do. I did a 40 minute video and then did 30 minutes on the TM. YEAH!! I feel so good right now; it’s amazing what a little bit of exercise can do for your attitude.

I hope everyone is having a great day!!

Just back from WW WI. Down 1.6 this week. I can see the bottom of the 170's now! 174.2 today. I'll be glad to get into the 160's - it just sounds good!

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry I haven't checked in for a bit but I've been down on myself for the past few weeks and just couldn't get my attitude together. Then on Sunday I was up a pound (first time EVER since I started low carbing that the scale didn't go down or stay the same). On Monday, it was even worse because I was up 2.5 pounds over my signature weight. I decided to join Oprah's 12 week boot camp challenge and even though it's tough, I'm happy to say that I'm down 3 pounds in 4 days! Now I'm 1/2 pound below my signature weight! I am very happy about that. I hope on Sunday to be able to report that this loss and maybe a bit more stayed with me. I'm not going to get overly excited but it seems with Oprah's challenge that I've got my focus back. 170's here I come!!!!

I hope you are all doing well.

Lisa~ Welcome back!! I have been wondering where you were.. haven't seen you on this or the 5 for Feb thread..

I know how hard and discouraging it can be. I gained 2 pounds in the first week of Feb after working so hard in Jan to take off 7.. AGH!! Well I am back to my Jan weight and just keep going one day, sometimes an hour at a time...

YOU CAN DO IT!!! I am here for you whenever you need a shoulder or an ear.. Just let me know.

clr1194....Oh YOU DID THE RIGHT THING!!! You worked those brownies off!!! :) I'm not saying this to encourage anyone to eat brownies...but when I was in high gear and walking 20 miles a week...I could eat half a molten lava fudge cake and still lose weight! Exercise is KEY for me to lose...portion control is second on my list. So don't knock yourself for having a weak moment...we're here for the long haul...and I can betcha that I'm going to have a week or two before July 4th (hopefully goal day) that I'm going to want to just go AWOL and I'm counting on you guys to keep me straight! :) So clr....you're a GREAT :cheer2: and all your encouraging words will help us all stay focused...we're here to help you!!! :)

Goldcupmom....OOOH!!!! 1.6 pounds!!!! :teeth: that is sooo GREAT!!! You are below 175!!!! You're a stone's throw away from the 160's...won't that feel GREAT to say and be! :) You must tell us how things are feeling for you...are your clothes getting baggy? Are you buying yourself something special for when you dip into the 160's..I mean PLUNGE into the 160's? Do tell!!!

Zeraspride!!! YEAH!!! SOOO Happy to see you back and with a boot camp to boot! :) It's so hard to live by the scales...I'm going to urge you to measure....I'm going to start measuring once I get under 190...it just seems the closer I get to 150's the slower the weight comes off but I know all this exercise we'll be doing in boot camp will shrink us somehow! :) Do you have any favorite workouts? I think I'm going to join the Blockbuster video club to try some out....I think everyone needs a little break on losing...especially when you've done sooo much already! So just do what you're doing....step up to the plate and have at it! :) We're here for you...feel free to vent all you need to! :badpc:

My vent for the day...no word from all those double/triple showings last week...but on the bright side we had two showings today and one tomorrow...and I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow..(I'm a once a year hair stylist visitor)...so I'll go for inches and maybe that'll make my weigh in better next week! :) I've got to drive 6 hours tomorrow (with dear children) send pixie dust that I don't make a poor McDonald's choice...I've got my nuts and some mozzarella sticks to hold me over. I hate long drives.

Tara

As usual, I didn't manage to eat before 7. I went down on the stationary bike for 1/2 hour, and the tm for 20 min after getting home from work. trying to make up for not exercising the rest of the week :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I think exercise is like sleep, you can never catch up on it. Maybe if I exercise twice a day I will lose weight this week. I have been tempted to get on the scale every morning but so far i have resisted. Monday isn't that far away. :bounce: :bounce:

WTG everyone who is staying on track with their goal. I am going to start the SB diet next week. I decided to wait until then, i loaded up on fruit last sunday so i need to finish that first.

The weather is snowy with temps in the 20's. Not much chance to get outdoors to exercise. Every once in a while we get a nice day with the sun shining. :sunny: It doesn't happen too often being in the lake effect snow belt.

goldcupmom congratulations on the 1.6 pounds!! Those 160’s are so close, you will be there before you know it. :Pinkbounc

Lisa it’s great to see you back. WTG on joining Oprah’s Boot Camp! It sounds to me like there is a new red dress in your future.

Tara here’s my :wizard: for a buyer on the house and more :wizard: for your drive tomorrow. You will make great choices. Just remember you will get to come back here and say, I DID IT!!! :cool1:

NYcpa, stay away from the scales, those things are evil :scared: especially if you get on them more than once a week. They play mind games with you. Getting on them only once a week takes away most of their power, it did mine!! :)

I have decided to start keeping up with my measurements. I had taken my measurements on 9/13/04 and took them again last night. I have lost a total of 8.5 inches since September. Not a whole lot of inches but considering that I just really started exercising in the last month or so that’s not too bad. I am going to start taking my measurements every two weeks and try to not to rely so much on the scale shows.

Chrisite

My jeans are getting looser!! Even when they are dried in the dryer! My jeans are getting looser!!! (Darn scale isn't moving)... DId I mention my jeans are getting looser??!!!

Happy Friday 150 ers!!! :cool1:
