Good luck on your endurance walk, Ronda. I know what you mean about writing things down. It helps me to just write down my day here and to tell what I've been doing. I should probably get a journal.
Welcome, Carpenters
I am new, too. I know what you mean about running out of steam, but don't look at it that way. Just be happy for what you've accomplished and keep it up one day at a time without beating yourself up too much. Slow and steady wins the race
Right now I'm trying to eat better and I feel a difference and I feel better and have more energy, all of this is fast becoming a habit. We are right around the same weight so we can be weight loss buddies. I just set short goals for the week and don't beat myself up too bad if I miss one. Good luck and you can do it! You've already come so far!
---------------
So I did the dreaded weigh in (I only weigh on Fridays) after my post earlier. I wasn't sure what to think because I've not done all I wanted to, but I lost 3 lbs.
Mind you, it was probably mostly water weight as I was PMSy last time I weighed in, but I'm still happy. So I'm down to 173 now! My husband is also down 2 lbs. This is well on my way to my month's goal of 8 lbs. which will bring me down to 168.
Portion control has been big for me. I used to do it automatically (quit when full) but I've just overindulged so long I have to be very conscience, and now it's becoming natural again. I've been eating more fruit and it's satisfying me wonderfully. I've cut way down on the pop, but I still drink it. I think if I cut it out I'd do better (drinking tons of water helped me lose weight before).
Good luck everyone!

I'd really like to keep this weight off as well.

She is trying to shed some baby weight herself so maybe it won't be to bad!
