150 Club....Care to join??? Continued.

Hi everyone I am down another pound for this week. I haven't lost as much as I wanted to so far but going down is better than going up.

I did get in another 10,000 steps yesterday but I don't think that is going to happen today.

For V-Day my dh and I haven't even discussed it. I did send ds2 a card and a gc to SHop Rite so he can shop for snacks at school (It is about a mile away and he can walk it if the weather is nice.) I have something to do at the local high school that should take most of the day. Dh has something to do with the Boy Scouts for a good part of the day. So it looks like a bust for the day.

Have a great day everyone.

Quick check in before work.

I did my Friday weigh in. Not as bad as I thought. I'm at 171 which I was at the night after I was at 170.5 so apparently that was just a water weight flux anyway.

Anyway I'm happy because I had a bad dinner last night. Today I'm back on track and will be walking around at work. I might try to go w/o pop all night for a change...we'll see.

Good luck all!

I am down 3.2 lbs from last week. So that is a total of 7.8 in 12 days! I guess this low carb low cal thing is working. Well, at least 5 of that was water weight, but I will take it!

No v-day plans here, we don't celebrate it. Tomorrow is a 7:30AM and 7M hockey game for me anything, and I am sticking around to scorekeep for the 8:30PM game. I think Mr Kat is meeting some of his friends to play video games. Ahh, the romance. It works for us, though!

Well, I'm officially in the 50's. 159 to be exact :goodvibes I Am really scared that this week I'll end up gaining a pound right back. It's been so long since I've been this weight....

HI!!!

Congrats to those of you who have lost this week. I lost another 2lbs which is good but I was kinda hoping for a little more.

Hope everyone managed to stay on plan this weekend. I did it wasn't easy but it will be worth it in the end.

I'll try and check in later today or first thing in the morning. Would love to here how everyone did this weekend!!! :goodvibes

Hi Ladies!

I lost 3 lbs this week, which was great after my scary gain last week. I'm still not ahead, but with alot of effort this week, I might get there!

The next race I have planned is the Honan 5K in September, so I have a long time.

We had something happen Friday that made it clear to me I have to make a change. A family who we know (not really friends, I guess acquaintances) has a 12 yr. old son and a 7 yr old daughter. The daughter had a heart attack at school, and she's in critical condition now. That was a wake up call that even if you think you're ok, you're really not. Obviously this child had a defect that went undetected -- who knows what's lurking under the many extra pounds I carry? Being able to do a Half Marathon (I am really proud of that!), doesn't make me fit or healthy. It means I can pull that out for one day. I need to be fit and healthy every day to have a long life. I made a comment to dh about wondering if this would make one of our friends realize how unhealthy her obese daughter is (9 yrs old, 105 lbs), and then it hit me -- I am that friend and it is me who's obese, not my child! If my son were that big, I would have him on a strict diet and exercise regimen. I would not make it optional, I would make sure my son got healthy so he would have a long life. Why on earth am I accepting anything less from myself? I think I just had an epiphany.

Happy President's Day (a little early!)

Maria

Good Monday Morning. Happy President's Day everyone.

Maria Thanks for the inspiring woods. It really hit home this morning.

Sorry I was not around this weekend. I spent Sat working on costumes for the local high school musical which opens in less than 2 weeks and Sunday I went to church and then had to go to a nursing home to give out communion. After that I went with a girlfriend to a quilt shop to pick up some thread and some fabric. I was looking at a new sewing machine b ut that is not going to happen because we still own tuition for this semester. It was strange because someone told me that the machine was not there on Sat but was on Sunday. When I asked the price it was a lot less than I thought it was going to be and the numbers happened to be the same as my birthday. Maybe someday. My old machine works but is slowing down after 13 years. It also doesn't go in reverse. Who needs reverse, you've got to keep going forward.

I woke up early on Sat morning and developed a migrain. I know that for me if I get the right aspirin and some caffeine in me I may not get rid of it all but I can function. It was really pretty comical to see me searching the pantry for tea with caffeine NONE and the frig for soda with caffeine NONE. I ended up eating some chocolate chips and a cup of cocoa. It is still slightly there but I expected that. It takes a couple of days for it to go away completely. BUt I also think it is part of a virus. Last night my stomach was all messed up and it still is this morning. Well at least I have the day off.

I am going to go grocery shopping and then put something in my crockpot for dinner. I plan to spend the day doing my laundry, quilting and knitting. DS1 is home because he doesn't work on MOnday and dh is planning on making some overdue phone calls. It should be a fun day.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! :)

Donac: So sorry you had to deal with the migrain. I have those but I have to take this stuff from the doctor called Midrin for mine and it knocks me out but it normally reliefs the headache when I wake up. One other thing that does help me if I don't have my meds is this aroma therepy stuff from Bath and Body Works. Your rub it behind your ears and on your forehead it helps especially if you catch it right at the start of the migrain.

Me and DH went for a walk last night again and it was nice. We have really got the chance to have some alone time with my sister being down for the past few days. But she left this morning and now it is back to the day to day. Me and DD just got back from our walk and had our breakfast. I am really trying hard to drink more water I am up to 32 oz per day now. I know I need more but I'll get there it just may take me awhile. I am trying for a big loss this week.

Good Luck to everyone on there goals for this week! Let's get busy loosing that weight!!!!!!!!:dance3:

Good morning everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend. I blew it a little this weekend. But not too bad. I didn't do my TM yesterday which has me feeling pretty crappy this morning. Especially since I was off and there was really no reason that I couldn't. I went to DD school and sat with her at lunch then I came home and took a nap. I think that just threw off my whole day. So today I'm determined to get back on track with eating and with the TM. DD birthday party is on the 7th and my goal was to be at 170. Now that's just three weeks away and I don't think I"m going to make it. I'm fluctuating between 177 and 179 right now. But I'm going to try to get as close as I can.

Sorry I haven't had a chance to read through the posts since the last time I was on. But I hope everyone is doing good. Congrats to all that have lost!

I've not been around because I've not been doing that great. I've been good in life, but not in keeping the weight off. I just had sort of a weird week and I slipped a lot. I got a promotion at work and kind of celebrated it with some bad food and drinks..ha ha. Now I'm sick again. GRRR. Like some kind of respiratory thing so I'm stuck in bed today.

Okay complain fest is over. Don't know if I've gained yet...I weigh in on Friday so I have time to rebound but I doubt I'll lose if anything.

Congrats to all who've done better than me...congrats on the losses! Keep up the good work. Everyone has worked so hard :thumbsup2

Hey! Looks like everyone has been MIA this week so far! Hope all is going well for everybody.

CobraBubbles: Don't worry being sick is always a set back but you will get better and be back to your plan in no time! :goodvibes

Well everything is going pretty well here been sticking to the plan pretty good. No slips this week so far (knock on wood)! :lmao:

Hope to hear from somemore of you later!

I'm here! Just dead tired from 5 straight days of hockey.

So far I am down 8.4 lbs in 15 days (weighed Sun).

I promise to check in more once I get some sleep!!

8.4 pounds in 15 days is awesome! I wish I could lose 5 pounds in 15 days. I checked this morning and I'm at 178.4 so I am up a little from the weekend. But I ate good yesterday and did my treadmill and I plan to do the same today. I'm really hoping I can at least get to 176 by Friday. I wanted 175 but I'll take 176. My goal is still be to be under 170 by DD's birthday next month so I need to get focused.

I am down another 2 this morning, so that is 10.4 in 18 days.

I am doing low calorie low carb, as a kickstart for the 40 lbs or so I had to lose when I started Feb 1, and also helping to support Mr Kat who wants to try this as well. The plan is to stay at or under 1200 calories and at or under 20g carb. 64-100 oz of plain water a day, exercising a minimum of 30 min, 5 days a week, and no alcohol.

Starting March 1, I am going to keep the calorie restriction and add some whole grains and fruits back into my diet, still staying with lean meats and tons of veggies, and avoiding sugar and any high-carb foods (pasta, rice, bread, etc). I am also going to add back some alcohol, as long as it is light/low carb beer or wine. Water and exercise will continue, of course.

I am hoping to be back down to a reasonable weight by the beginning of the summer, and lose the last 10 or so over the summer.

I have found that staying low carb has really suppressed my appetite. I actually have to remind myself to eat, and am tracking primarily to be sure I get *enough* food in my day.

So gloomy and meh here today... 40 and raining. Blech. How is everyone's day going?

Sounds like you are doing great. Can you give me an idea of what your daily meals/snacks are? I've never done low carb.

I was trying to stay under 1200 calories a day but right now I'm just kind of watching what I eat and watching portions. Like yesterday I had a big lunch so I had a small bowl of cereal after walking on the TM last night instead of dinner.

I've cut out all regular sodas and very few diet sodas. I did drink some beer this weekend and occasionally have a glass of wine. But mostly just on the weekend. We grilled out a couple times over the weekend with friends and I probably ate more than I should have but I tried to make up for it by eating less at another meal or whatever.

I don't want to do a strict diet where I feel deprived all the time. I want to change my eating habits. So I'm expecting it to take awhile to lose the weight.

Anyway, if you could share what a typical day food wise is for you that would be great. Thanks!

Okay, we will take today for example. :)

Breakfast: 1 egg (fried in cooking spray/non-stick), 2 slices 40% reduced fat bacon. Total cals, ~125, carbs, 1
Lunch: Large salad with romaine, 3 cucumber slices (diced), 1 wee sliver of red onion, a sprinkle of reduced fat blue cheese, 2 oz grilled chicken (diced), and 1/3 avocado (diced), with 1 tbsp ken's lite northern italian. Also had .5 oz of 2% sharp cheddar. Total cals, ~230, carbs, 4
Dinner: 8 oz sirloin, mashed cauliflower, broccoli, probably ~500 cals and 5g carbs, not sure yet
Snack: Kahlua mini mug cheesecake (2 tbsp whipped cream cheese, 1/4 cup better n eggs, 1 packet splenda, 1 tsbp sugar free kahlua syrup, stirred together in a mug and nuked for a min or until set), topped with pressurized sf whipped cream, ~110

That has me at about 965 calories, so I might eat another oz of cheese or so, or maybe a Kavli crispbread with some hummus.

I basically just label watch like crazy and use the free site sparkpeople.com to keep me on track. Lots of lean meat, fresh lower-carb veggies, and lower fat dairy and eggs. Oh, and TONS of water. :)

Hello everyone! Congrats to all of you who have been loosing the weight. :worship:

I weighed last night and I am down to 165 so only 15 more to go until I reach 150. Although I would really like to get back down to around 130 I will take whatever I can get!

Remember starving yourself isn't the way to go. Portion control and eating foods that are lower in fat and carbs will help you to loose the weight. I have found that my daily walking has made the weight come off more than changing my eating habits. And I feel so much better when I walk. I have a lot more energy and I just seem to be in a much better mood.

Have a great day everyone!!! :dance3:

This is more or less what I'm doing and I think it is the right way (for me at least). Keep up the good work, and if you just deprive yourself you'll end up going back to bad habits. If you make a lifestyle change..I think that's the key!

I am down another 2 this morning, so that is 10.4 in 18 days.

Wow, congrats. You are doing amazing. I don't think I have the discipline to do what you are doing. I like my carbs. I did South Beach once (because my cousin needed to do it and wanted me to do it with her). I am not a sweets person but by day 3 I was NEEDING an ice cream sundae :lmao:

Keep up the good work!

Great work! I also really want to get down to between 135-140 but I will be happy when I reach 150. You are well on your way...good luck and congrats!

------------

I'm still sick. Went to work sick yesterday and barely ate anything, but I've not been moving around too much either. I am feeling a ton better though today (fever finally broke) but I'm still stuffy and my throat is killing me. Still, you know how it is...after the fever breaks and you start feeling normal it's like the best feeling ever even though I'm not 100% yet.

Hope everyone else is doing better...I will rah rah cheerlead you guys from my bed :cheer2:

PS. I am afraid of weigh in tomorrow....

Good afternoon ladies! Hope everyone is doing good. For those weighing in tomorrow like me, good luck! I'm hoping to get in some time on the TM tonight. But DH is off today and we're going to look at a couple of houses after I get off.

Yes, we're nuts and we're thinking about buying right now. We're renting at the moment and our lease is up in a month so we're in a good place as far as having nothing to sell. The market in our town has slowed down but prices really aren't falling. We're also not seeing as many foreclosures as other areas. At least none in the range we're looking at. But DH found one today that we're going to look at. You have to make offers on them quick around here. The last one we looked at we wanted to make an offer on but it had a contract on it the next day. So we're prepared to move quick if we like this one. Wish us luck. I forgot how much stress can be involved in buying a house.

As for weightloss I don't feel like I will have lost much if anything when I weigh in tomorrow. I don't think I've gained but I don't think I've really lost either.
