12/6/07...Anyone with us?

Welcome to the new comers.

Is anyone making magnets for this cruise. I am debating on it.

Dee, I will probably bring some we had from last year, just so I can find my door in that loooooooong hallway!

TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY......
Peg and I will be flying down to meet up with some of you wackos. See you at LeCellier for dinner! :thumbsup2

Hey....I just realized...
I ONLY WORK 18 MORE DAYS THIS YEAR!!!
Eight days in November and ten in December...yeah for vacations and holidays!

Do you want to see a photo of the castle with the new lights for this year? I was just going to post it, but didn't want to spoil if for anyone who might want to be surprised. I must say, it is BEAUTIFUL!!

Hi Terri welcome!:thumbsup2 Is this your first Disney Cruise? Or your first cruise ever? Either way, you are in for a great time! My first was last year when I met this gang - and let me tell you - your life will NOT be the same... ALL IN A GOOD WAY!

I have not started packing, but I have started THINKING about what clothes, etc. I am leaving behind the snorkel equipment this trip - and I we won't be ordering from Shirley this trip - but I do plan on having a great time.

Guess what I found while looking thru clothes? A tee shirt I bought at CASTAWAY CAY last year that I've never worn!!!!

I'm wearing it now! I'm going to bring it too - I was so HAPPY!!!!:scared1:

I also did a little shopping on Friday (had 1/2 day) and looked for denim jacket/shirts for Jackie. No luck, some at Catherine's but they had all glittery goofy stuff on them. So maybe we will get lucky and find her somthing at Disney when we go get our park tickets.

I couldn't find anything on line either... oh well, this sis did TRY!:grouphug:

Well I finally tried on the denim Mickey Christmas shirt. There is no way I am wearing it. I need a bust reduction, just for starters. I think I will find something festive to wear for the boarding picture.

Hello fellow shipmates, remember me? I know it has been a long time since I’ve posted here.

Who needs a thrill ride at Disney when life puts you on a rollercoaster ride! I’ll make this story as short as possible. Late in October Barb’s (my wife) mom was told she needed to have a valve repaired in her heart. The Dr’s had been watching this for years and it hadn’t been a problem until now. It wouldn’t have been a problem but Barb’s mom is coming along with us on this cruise. The procedure she was having and with her very good health a four week recovery wasn’t out of the question. Well the trip was just around the corner and here it was October 18 she checked into the hospital and was ready for surgery on the 19th. when the Dr. came and told her she was getting bumped for more serious cases and would be rescheduled for 23 or 24 OK that’s not to bad, but she got the call late on the 22nd and was told she was getting bumped again till the 30th.
I made a call to our travel agent and told her what was going on, we would waited to see how the surgery would go before making a decision on going or not. I know my wife wouldn’t want to travel if her mom couldn’t go on the trip so we held off on making any decision. The repair turned into a full replacement of the valve which meant four to six weeks of recovery time which meant her recovery time would be very close to the trip, so do we cancel or do we go?
I asked the Dr. what he thought about her taking the cruise he said “no problem” and that “she will be in good shape to go”, so the trip was on…….until two days after the surgery when she started to have a problem with her heart rate being to high and they couldn’t get it to sinus rhythm. A normal recovery time for a valve replacement in the hospital is 5-6 days well she spent 12 days in the hospital, the Dr. finally came around and told us they needed more time to adjust her meds because she is so small, most folks having heart surgery are larger and can adjust to meds quicker so that was why they kept in so long.
She was given her walking papers on Nov. 10th and she is doing very well and looking forward to the trip.
After several weeks of this up and down on the rollercoaster we sure can use this land & sea trip it’s not going to be our normal commando park approach but a slower more relaxed take in the sites, smell the roses kind.
I would like to meet you all in the Promenade Lounge if that is OK with you and say hi……..that’s if we arrive on time and before the ship departs, still no documents for us yet but maybe this week. Hey I think the Shuttle is still go for launch on the 6th can anyone else confirm this?
Aloha everyone and thanks for listening.

i want to see it! i was actually surprised you didnt post it yet!

Here you go!

Bob, so glad to hear you are still making the trip and that you mother in law is recovering! It's fun to do a WDW visit and experience the 'kinder, gentler side" of Disney. Looking forward to meeting you in just over two weeks!

Bob, I'm glad to hear your MIL is doing well and that you all will be able to enjoy your vacation (and join us on the ship!).:goodvibes

Looking forward to meeting you (see you 3pm in the Promenade Lounge)!!!

Hi ya'll! Hope you are done with most of your Turkey day preps. :)

Bob, looking forward to meeting you and your family! My best wishes to your MIL.

Welcome to all the new sailors, and I'm doing the doc dance with you, Bev.:cool1:

Jackie, the castle is BEAUTIFUL!!! I can't wait to see it up close and personal.

Dee, I'm going to wear my denim shirt like a jacket with a t-shirt underneath.

Jen, Ed laughed when I read your reply. He loves being the only guy in an all girls trip, LOL! Plus, he fetches coffee.

On a side note, he and I went shopping yesterday, and we were headed out of the store, when I thought to myself "Isn't our anniversary coming up soon?". I then started chuckling and said to him "happy anniversary, honey!". We both laughed really hard, because we both had forgotten about it. We are so pathetic. Thirty-five years and we forgot! Of course, now that I think about it a little, thats probably why we forgot. We've been together since dirt.:rotfl:
