12/6/07...Anyone with us?

Anybody want to meet in DTD for icecream on Wed 12/5. Dsis and I will be flying in early that day and plan to make a trip down there.

What time for lunch, Jackie? We would love to visit with Michelle and Angelina!

What time do you arrive, Dee? We sould love to meet with you.

Geez, this is tough! I hope we can do both.:goodvibes :upsidedow

We don't have anything written in stone that day as far as lunch goes...and maybe if it's a slightly 'off' time we can get away with no ADR and just whoever shows up can join in :confused3 I'll call dining and see how it looks. I know J&L have an early dinner at 50's prime time and don't know if they would be giving up park time anyway (don't remember what they said about doing sea raycers). We (Peg & I) will be having dinner when sister in law shows up (plane lands 4:30) most likely just counter service at DTD....WPExpress or Earl of Sandwich....Dee will you be at DTD in the evening/night? Where are you staying anyway...I thought you were at the port???

....ok, coffee break over...back to work...

For those of you enjoying MVMCP before or after our WONDERful cruise, here's the link to the "party map" showing the various MVMCP festivities...http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/mvmcp.htm:santa:

Note to self: instruct the twins to eat many, many cookies as that is the only food they will get that week until we are on the Wonder. :rolleyes1 In fact, have them wear carpenter pants with many pockets on MVMCP night...

What park will you all be at on Wednesday?

We arrive at 1249 and am thinking about what to do. DO we spend the money and do a park or do we go to DTD and hang out for the evening.

Leaning toward a relaxing time at DTD. We would be there till late so meeting up for some icecream at Ghirardelli maybe a great idea. Okay I thought about it and getting icecream there is a great idea. SO that is where you will find Dsis and I.:thumbsup2

Park opens (EMH) that day at 8AM....how fast can you get ready? Guess you can sleep till 7....you can 'wake up' on the bus rider over:lmao:
Yeah I'll get up at 7 with the new hair cut it takes NO time at all to get ready!!!!

oh no. add me to the list of you suffering pre-trip nightmares. and this one was just NOT fair! I took today off, looking forward to sleeping in after DH and DS15 left the house, only to fall back asleep and raise my stress level beyond capacity!:scared1: Doh!

Here's a snapshot summary: Mom and I here in the VA airport -early even! - having an overpriced piece of pizza when it dawns on me thatI never packed my suitcase (yup, I check in futile hope, but all that's in there are whatever few things I had willy-nillily chucked in there over the past two months. I even forgot my passport and my 10 day park hoppers!!! wahhhh). I try to rationalize that I can just buy all new clothes when I get down there, but I'm pissed about the hassle of the tix.

And then there's the issues of the cats. Why do we have two of my cats with us, running around the terminal?:confused3 WTH?!!! (as there were no twins in the picture, I wonder if I grabbed the cats instead of the twins???) What were we thinking? I don't even like cats!:headache: (good thing my kitten Harry Potter can't read this, as he's curled up next to me right now). So now there's nothing for me to do but bring the cats home, repack, send mom on her way to meet GrayFal, and I'll catch an exhorbitantly priced last minute flight down tomorrow.

And now it's 7:30 and I am starting my day off way too early and with a headache! Good thing I brought work home with me; if it's gonna start out like a normal Monday, I may as well work!:rolleyes1

but first I think I'm gonna pack, just to be careful.:thumbsup2 and who knew willy-nilly could be used as an adverb?:teacher:
Jen - you make me laugh out loud, you do! Well, welcome to the "dream gals" group. I've had another, but it wasn't a night mare it was all fun!!!! YIPEE - gotta love that.

Anybody want to meet for lunch Wed 12/5 at Trails End? Peg wants to do Sea Raycers and Ft Wilderness is my favorite 'port' for that adventure. Looks like Michelle and Angelina can meet us for lunch there! :cool1:

We're ordering bottled water from Costco for our villa (no delivery charge through them, so you can get a case for $7.99). Think we will use www.gardengrocer.com for ordering diet Pepsi and some Banfi!

I bought some trip insurance last night...mostly for emergency medical coverage purposes.
JR - should I be going on and buying insurance???

I'd be up for hooking up with you after we meet Michele and Angelina for lunch...yum ice cream for dessert with OTHER friends - sounds like a plan to me! Do you guys want to go to dinner with me, sis and sis-in-law.????

Hi Dee! Just in case you weren't aware, if it's a day of the week ending in "day" I'll be park-commandoe-ing somewhere! But I'll see you bright and early Ship Day!:cool1: :woohoo:

:surfweb: :rotfl2:

Oh how I wish I didn't just sip my coffee before reading that!

Peg....open your cruise docs and let Jen know our cabin number!

I'm leaving work now.....quest for food begins!

Oh Boy! Just got my cruise documents!! This trip is so much more REAL now! Gotta start packing. :woohoo:

WooHoo, Bev!:cool1: T minus 20!:sail: :dancer:

Still waiting on mine...:hourglass :snail:

So I'm sitting here looking at this lovely chart my sister sent me...trying to decide if I should just get my 4 day hopper...or go for a longer, no expiration hopper. You KNOW I'll be back to WDW at some time. Jen, you went ahead and got the 10 day, didn't you?

Oh, wouldn't it be grand to take 3 WEEKS VACATION next May and do the parks before my 15 day cruise! Man, if it were the following year (when I then get 5 weeks per year), I'd push for it.

Ah, well, a girl can dream...................

....is everyone going to hate me because I don't have a Mickey denim shirt for MVMCP night?

jackie

i'm going to wear a red chirstmas shirt with mickey on it and a demin jacket

Jackie,
I did get the twins the 10 day PH w/ no expiration. Saved a bit using undercvr tourist. i'll check this months newsletter to see if there's any specials running.:thumbsup2

I don't have a denim mickey shirt. jiminy, i figured all i'd be wearing EVERY day at wdw is several layers of thermal underwear and tnecks and bulky sweatshirt. oh my, now i need to focus on festive....i'll figure out something.:santa:

ooh, maybe a santa hat?:santa:

Hi, Im new to cruisin! I will be on this trip!!! I can wait! Any tips???

Were are taking a all girls trip, My grandmother , My mother, My grandaughter, and Me Terri

We are taking the Atlantis beach day. Any one ever done that???

Hi Terri! Welcome!!!:welcome:

This is a fun crowd you are joining. I can speak for a few of us - there's a group of girls (a few guys thrown in to avoid discrimination lawsuits - Hi Ed!) here travelling to WDW for MVMCP and then capping it off with the Wonder cruise! Many of us have met already on prior cruises and through the DIS boards and have travelled together a few times since!:disrocks:

As for me, I'm travelling with my mom and my sons aged 10; the boys don't know about the cruise part - so far, the surprise is still intact!:ssst:

Re: Atlantis beach day; I haven't done it, but have you looked into just getting a day room at Atlantis? I read on the main board there is a cheap rate (starting at $129 plus taxes/fees) now thruhttp://hotels.travelzoo.com/resorts-spas/339777 You might find it to be cheaper to get a day room and have use of the beach, pools, etc. than to buy separate excursion for your group.

So many tips, so little time. The best tip that I ever learned from these boards was "the shoe holder over the door" tip. You buy a cheap shoe holder with clear pockets from Walmart, hang it on the outside of the bathroom door in your cabin, and that's where you put EVERYTHING that anyone will be looking for! :thumbsup2 Pocket camera, sunglasses, deoderant, sunblock, hairbrush, book, room keys, whatever! If it's small and generally gets thrown on top of the bureau, put it in the shoe holder! This worked wonders with my family on two cruises, no more "Mom, where's my...' or "Anyone know where the XYZ is?":rotfl:

Oh yeah! We're having a little "Dis Meet" at 3pm in the Promenade Lounge on the day of sailing. Basically, it's a chance to meet each other and say hi. It's pretty low key, you stay as long or as short as you'd like. (Hey, everyone, if I'm not there it's because I'll be watching the boys in the pool; if I can tear them away, I'll see you there!).

Well, you've got me excited again; think I'll go pack somemore!:yay:

Welcome Terri! You will have a wonderful time! DCL is great and cruising is a wonderful way to do a family/group vacation. :thumbsup2

I don't really plan to get off the ship in Nassau...as three days is so short and there is so much to do and see on the ship. OK...mabe I'll mosey over to Atlantis and drop a couple of bucks in as slot machine and look around a bit...but not for too long! My sister (TiggersPal) and I are sailing together, along with several old friends from this motley crew....and some new friends from this motley crew! pirate: Our sister-in-law just decided to join in on this trip too, so we are very exicted to show her cruising with Disney (she's done other cruise lines in the past).

The over the door shoe holder that Jen mentioned is a GREAT tip (especially if the four of you are in one cabin). My tip is: don't be shy to ask for what you want. Disney will bend over backwards to make your trip as memorable as possible, and they hate to say no to their guests (within reason of course...NO...they won't let you stay past 12/9...you must get off the ship). ;)
