12/5/09 -- DUMMY -- The Cruise Your Heart Desires Most ; )

Let me know too. I assume you will fly in to Philly and then ABD will bus you my way and then on to Williamsburg. Flights from Norfolk or VA Beach to MCO shouldn't be too bad but some peeps even drive to FL from there. (probably 9-10ish hours from there)

I was thinking about getting BG passes next year (again...we'll see) maybe we could follow (ie stalk :rotfl: )you guys.

You can even take the train from Virginia to outside Orlando

 Since won't be going to France..DH said that WDW would be great (I had him talked into August but if we want to change to June...anytime after the 20th would be fine.)

We will be doing the ABD trip to Wshington DC, PA, and VA instead..we were going to go before the trip to FL and fly down from VA but we would have to reverse it and go from FL if we did June.
Anytime in August is good for us as well.

Let all us Philly types know when you will be there!

Yep, what Tom said!

What happened to the Aruba trip in May:confused: Is that on the back burner:confused3
I think we can do a short trip to WDW in June '09 instead, it would be great to see everyone again:grouphug:

I'm not sure. We're interested to see what the group comes up with, because we miss all you guys!

We are game for almost anything! Within reason of course! June sounds like a good time. Hopefully not as hot as July! We have learned to pace ourselves. I don't do commando anything any more!

K & M I PMed you guys about Columbus Day weekend. K please thank Devon for teaching Kaitlin the word "Random"! She thinks she is so coll using it!:lmao:

I am NOT a person that likes last minute plans. I have a tendency to panic and be really rude/mean to everyone. I try to control it but, it shows through....:sad2:

Rude/mean? Not words I'd associate with you

... I have 1192 days left. Still way too many days to go.
John

Hi ya John, I can't wait till you guys move to Florida, then any time we go to WDW will be a. :cloud9:

We like Alex with us as he's good company and he is very funny and entertaining - he's one of the few people aho have a similar sense of humour to me.:rotfl2:

David

Are you saying that you are funny and entertaining? :rolleyes1

Thanks, very cool:thumbsup2
See when in doubt, I just call you folks across the pond "Europeans", is that ok:confused3 ;)

Never lump British people in with Europeans :snooty: Britain is a world unto Itself ... have you heard the British Anthem:

The nations, not so blest as thee,
Must in their turn, to tyrants fall,
....While thou shalt flourish,
shalt flourish great and free,
The dread and envy of them all.

(Chorus)
Rule Britannia!
Britannia rule the waves...

When I was younger I thought the words were .. Britannia rules the World ;)
I was born in England, raised in Australia, and now soon to become an American citizen...
21-1.jpg
.. I am a child of the World.

Which house??? Your last house or the one your BIL is working on??;)

The house we moved out of -- if it was the other house I wouldnt' be stressed I would be THRILLED!!! :goodvibes It costs us double every month what the house we just sold costs us...... And i have nothing to move out of it.... :rotfl:

Seeing as we are talking about being Welsh, may I say I'm half Welsh? My maternal grandparents were born in Wales. My grandfather in Llanelli and my grandmother in Barry. My grandparents moved to the US in 1921. My mom was always proud of her Welsh heritage. (as I am too) At her memorial service we had the Lords Prayer said in Welsh. In 1976, the BBC did some shows called," The Welsh Experience in America" and one of the episodes was on my grandpa!

That's very cool!

Well, I read this AFTER I sent you the email this morning! LOL! I should have read the boards instead! :lmao:
My TR link is in my signature. Like I said in the email I just sent... You will have a free afternoon/evening in Philly, DC & Williamsburg.

Rude/mean? Not words I'd associate with you

Thank you! A friend of mine told me today that my *mean* is how most people act everyday. :rotfl: I was VERY short with Jon today on the phone!

:rotfl: :lmao: That is cute!! DH became a citizen in...1992! He was born in Toronto. Samantha (17) told Elvis (10) that it meant that she was half Canadian BUT, he wasn't. :rotfl2:

Occasionally.:)

Never lump British people in with Europeans :snooty: Britain is a world unto Itself ... have you heard the British Anthem:

See Below

Must in their turn, to tyrants fall,

The British National Anthem is God Save The Queen. America also uses the music for Sweet Land Of Liberty.

However, the Welsh also use Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nyhadau or in English, Land Of My Fathers

In Welsh

Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau

Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i mi,
Gwlad beirdd a chantorion, enwogion o fri;
Ei gwrol ryfelwyr, gwladgarwyr tra mâd,
Tros ryddid gollasant eu gwaed.

< Cytgan >

Gwlad, Gwlad, pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad.
Tra môr yn fur i'r bur hoff bau,
O bydded i'r hen iaith barhau.

Hen Gymru fynyddig, paradwys y bardd,
Pob dyffryn, pob clogwyn i'm golwg sydd hardd;
Trwy deimlad gwladgarol, mor swynol yw si
Ei nentydd, afonydd i mi.

Os treisiodd y gelyn fy ngwald tan ei droed,
Mae hen iaith y Cymry mor fyw ac erioed,
Ni luddiwyd yr awen gan erchyll law brad,
Na thelyn berseiniol fy ngwlad.

And in English

The land of my fathers, the land of my choice,
The land in which poets and minstrels rejoice;
The land whose stern warriors were true to the core,
While bleeding for freedom of yore.

< Chorus >

Wales! Wales! fav'rite land of Wales!
While sea her wall, may naught befall
To mar the old language of Wales.

Old mountainous Cambria, the Eden of bards,
Each hill and each valley, excite my regards;
To the ears of her patriots how charming still seems
The music that flows in her streams.

My country tho' crushed by a hostile array,
The language of Cambria lives out to this day;
The muse has eluded the traitors' foul knives,
The harp of my country survives.

Obviously your better half is Welsh:lmao:

The Lords Prayer in Welsh

Ein Tad, yr hwn wyt yn y nefoedd,
sancteiddier dy enw.
Deled dy deyrnas.
Gwneler dy ewyllys,
megis yn y nef, felly ar y ddaear hefyd.
Dyro i ni heddiw ein bara beunyddiol.
A maddau i ni ein dyledion, fel y maddeuwn ninnau i'n dyledwyr.
Ac nac arwain ni i brofedigaeth;
eithr gwared ni rhag drwg.
Canys eiddot ti yw'r deyrnas, a'r nerth, a'r gogoniant, yn oes oesoedd.

Amen.

In school we used to have a Welsh assembley on a Tuesday and Thursday when we would say the Lord's Prayer in Welsh.

I've been to both Llanelli and Barry. Near Barry is Barry Island which is a small seaside resort. In the 50's, 60's and 70's there would be thousands of people there on a weekend enjoying the sea and beach - happy memories.

Send me a dvd with some of the videos and I will figure it out for you

He said he will still give the short vids a try.  We just need a little time.:rolleyes1

So...the planner in me is going crazy....

I can't figure out how to post a poll but I was looking at the calendar and according to what people have posted it seems like we have the following weeks (I just went Sat-Sat)

June 20-27
June 27 - July 4 (probably not the best idea)
August 1-8
August 8-15
Aug 15-22 (This would be my choice!)

Hopefully that is after everyone gets out of school and before everyone goes back.

June 20-27 <-- My first choice since we'll probably be there for the first day or two of this (June 12th-21st is most likely dates for us - might be able to shift it and skip our actual anniversary)

June 27 - July 4 <-- Yuck - way too crowded

August 1-8 <-- OK, if we can get OK airfare for a quick weekend
August 8-15 <-- OK, if we can get OK airfare for a quick weekend

Aug 15-22 <-- Won't know when school will start until next year (they usually don't tell us until March/April!) Could probably do first weekend if we can get OK airfare.

I looked up the DVC points..after the 15th (August) - the points go down a bit too. We are within our 11 month booking window so that's good!

I vote for August since I already have a trip to Smuggler's Notch Resort in Vt planned for June when school lets out. Besides, August is an easier trade with my cheapo timeshare. I have 4 weeks in the trade bank that I need to use so I will probably do two weeks in WDW. Have to be back by August 23rd - Kids go back to school the last Wednesday in August, but the teachers start on Monday so that's when I start back to work.

Kinda bummed that the Baltic doesn't look like it will be possible. I was hoping to do a Baltic then the repo, but the repo schedule makes that impossible.

:rotfl: :lmao: That is cute!! DH became a citizen in...1992! He was born in Toronto. Samantha (17) told Elvis (10) that it meant that she was half Canadian BUT, he wasn't. :rotfl2:

What does Elvis have to say to that? Now, would be good time to have that birds and the bees talk with Samantha

You do know I was teasing you!!:goodvibes :goodvibes   But I do know what to say to get you angray!!!

Your accent is pretty good ... in type that is :goodvibes

The British National Anthem is God Save The Queen. America also uses the music for Sweet Land Of Liberty.David

Just so we're on the same page David: I didn't say it was the National Anthem ... even all the way in Australia we sang God Save the Queen! It's so hard for me to sing Sweet Land Of Liberty, without God Save the Queen running through my head :rolleyes1 good thing I will have dual citizenship

Ha funny I typed the exact same dates up in a free on-line poll site, but I couldn't link to it so I gave up! Anyway Aug 15-22 would be my choice as well! :thumbsup2

I picked that August as first choice. (SInce points are lower)

The June week would be my second choice.

Mom picks August as well!!!:thumbsup2

I would hope school would not start that early in August!!:headache: I hate to say it but I would rather take August 15th!!:rolleyes1

After this weekend........only three birthdays left to celebrate. I will call you next week. I am giving an advance warning!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

We are good for either of those 2 weeks. I can feel the depression lifting already. ;) We should probably wait until the 10/6 announcement just to make sure that there are no surprises. Also we should let the main thread in on this decision.

School started this year on August 25th and that was considered a LATE start!!! We have started more than 2 WEEKS before labor day some years.

CruisinMike posted earlier that he had to go earlier in the summer since he'll have a new job later and won't have vacation. This might end up as 2 Reunions instead of 1 big one.... We'll definitely be going in June (Dan says the dates can shift some - it would be fun to be AT WDW for our anniversary, but we can go the next week if that works better for others...) If there is a group going in August, we will do our best to come down for at least a couple days. We'll have APs so that won't be an issue and hopefully there will be room discounts (I think there were this year). I expect the biggest issue will be airfare and with plenty of advance warning, we can do our best with that.

Cheryl - it will be great to talk to you, but I certainly understand being busy! I feel like I am just finally catching up from being gone and I am STILL working on photos - there are 5 or 6 days left to go through and post.

Pamela
