So I just made a Cash Reservation for ALL STAR MOVIES just in case I don't get a DVC Room from 12/7-11

The CM told me the reason its so packed (more than usual) is because there is POP Warners FootBall Leaque going on at the World Wide Sports.
They have taken up most of all the rooms from 12/4 - 12/8

Their Annual Passholders Rates are completely sold out for that week too.
So All I could get was a normal Cash Rate.

And normal cash rate I was told the only rooms available are
All star Movies (regular room)
a 1BR at Saratoga Springs or a Studio at Old Key West.

Ouch....

This is Crazy - I have no faith that I will get my Room from DVC now.
I can't believe I am going to have to pay cash! And this is my first time With DVC too....

Just wanted to give everyone an update.

Yep. They're there every year at that time. Our only not-so-pleasant WDW visit was a stay at the All Stars during Pop Warner. THE SCREAMING CHEERLEADERS! ARRRGGGH.

I hope you find something DVC - so you don't have to stay at the value. They don't impact the parks much - but certainly impact the resort they are staying at.

(Just do a search for Pop Warner on these boards.:scared1:)

can you get the DVC cash discount %25 on the OKW studio? I would think that would be your best (and quietest) option.
Waitlist the days as well as likely lots of folks will have to cancel trips due to the economy.

Well I just figured If I have to stay with cash I want it to be cheap since I just put out all this money for a DVC.

Well I figured too If I have to I will just get a different DVC hotel for every night of my stay in order to use my points (As long as the DVC Gods are Cooperative).

I think that might be do-able since alot of the kids that get kicked out first/second rounds of the championships would be checking out around the 8th & 9th. (thanks to Dodie for telling me to Google it... I have went this week before but not for years and I never remember them being there) I will know better next year!

Thanks for the reply's!

The first 2 weeks of December has always been popular for DVC. You need to book early.

My neices are all Pop Warner cheerleaders and have gone down to WDW almost every year. You may want to re-think staying at any of the value resorts if at all possible. The kids are sweet (mostly), but I've seen their home movies from their trips and they really overrun the resort they are in and travel in packs. The cheerleaders also have no problem "cheering" their way around the resort.

Pop Warner has nothing to do with getting your DVC accomodations - they don't stay at the DVC resorts.

As DebbieB posted, the first two weeks of December are a very popular time for DVC members to book. A large majority of members who travel at that time make their reservations at 11 months. There have been waiting lists for that time since right after the 7 month winodw opened. Some resorts were sold out befroe the 7 month window opened.

That time of the year has been getting busier than it used to be, but the parks will still be relatively uncrowded. It's a great time to visit!

I tried booking those dates almost two months ago. I switched to 12/14-17 so I could stay at SSR for 3 consecutive nights. Everything was booked the first two weeks of Dec. Jan 2009 was wide open when I called. I could have stayed at a studio at any DVC resort, but I really wanted to go before my AP expired, since I may not renew until my summer 2009 trip.

As mentioned, while Pop Warner kids are there every year at that time, it is the low points season and decorations that bring DVC members out in full force. We have found the only parks that fill up with Pop Warner kids are mostly MK and Studios.

I just got an AP rate reservation yesterday for 12/3 - 12/7 at CBR. They also had ASsp available but I think alot of Pop Warner people stay there.
I am going ony for a long weekend and didn't want to use DVC points when CBR was only $99 ap rate.

We're planning an early December trip in 2009. It was earlier mentioned that this happens every year, is it always the first weekend of December? What are the days? I'd like to simply avoid it if we can.
