I am guessing easywdw doesn't have recommendations for the December portion of this week because everywhere is so busy we just have to dive in.

Can anyone give us a wild guess about what might be advised? We aren't big about being set on dining other than wanting to do Hoop Dee Do, Chinese at Epcot, Fultons, T-Rex and Crystal Palace on 1-4 hoping for an 8:15 reservation and 9 opening.

We approach every trip with a been there done that attitude and we can not do it all and we will be back.

My son also golfs and he and my mom will do that one day. We stay at DSSR and he will probably play there.

travelers are me, DH, DS 15, DD 20 and mom who is 78 but gets around VERY well.

I abhor decision making and I have to do dining tomorrow.

Have you traveled there during this time? Or is this a first? We have been once for NYE and crowds were thick. At the time, a few years ago, we spent NYE at HS and it was lovely. Now I probably wouldn't suggest that park since a lot of things are closing. Some see that as a plus--maybe not as crowded, others a downfall as there may not be as much to do. MK closed to capacity on NYE at 11 am. HS never closed. We visited MK on Jan. 2 and it was a mad house. We were able to ride and do a few things, have lunch, and leave. We spent the rest of the day at DTD. IT all really depends on what you want to get done. Sounds like you're pretty laid back so the crowds and not getting to ride or see everything won't bother you.

As far as dining, I think you would be remiss to not make all ADRs ahead of time. Not one restaurant NYE or NYDay was taking walk ups at HS or AK. I would suggest trying to book all in advance.

That's actually a fairly low time. We're booked for Nov 29 - Dec 7. Lots of ADRs available at the 180 mark (June 2 was when I booked); touring plans estimates crowd levels of 2-4 for most days for most parks.

I think she is going December 29- January 4.

Sorry - misread that. Yes, that is an incredibly busy time. I've seen pictures of literally wall-to-wall people in MK. We would never even attempt it ourselves.

make all of your dining at the 180 day mark, especially on NYE, unless you guys will do quick service. I think traveling to WDW at that time of year just requires more advanced planning. Josh on easy WDW has several write ups from last year. have a great time!

LOL no worries. I had to go back and re read to make sure I read the dates right!

We went last year almost those exact dates. Had a great time and are doing 12/30-1/5 this year. Make ADRs at 180. Our trip was with just a few days advance planning so we were scrambling to make ones we wanted, but were able to get some we really liked. It is crazy crowded but we went 7/4 last summer and didn't think it was much worse crowd wise and the temperatures are better so it didn't seem unbearable.
