So, Kat, what are the "fantasy island" rules again? I assume that you can't duplicate anyone else's choices? The good ones are going fast, so put me down for George Clooney before it's too late, and throw in Indiana Jones and Han Solo since Harrison Ford is also taken (he was better looking back then anyway). Johnny has moved to the top of my list, bumping Brad Pitt to second place as the "best looking guy on the planet", but since he and Jack Sparrow are both taken I will settle for Brad. I will have to think about #5 and then will send my "official" list to Jen.

only 1 character allowed. The characters are designated with the * and you can only have 1. Mine is Mitch Rapp. He's from a book and i am working on a digital concept sketch of what i assume he looks like. I will have you down for George Clooney (great choice) and Brad Pitt. just send me the other 3 when you get a chance.

Mary Ann, where are you off to?

I cannot believe the summer is winding down so fast! The kids start back to school in about a month.

Did anyone else catch the recent thread about "fish extenders"? I found one on e-bay and got it. Still haven't decided if I feel brave enough to put it outside the room or if I should just leave it inside for holding stuff. But I got to thinking, do we maybe want to get some of those small, inexpensive stockings to put on the fish so people can leave things for each other (notes, etc)? We could put our DIS Names on the top so they'd be unlikely to be stolen.

Oriental Trading Co has some cute ones. these are $7.95 for a dozen so they would be less than $1 each. A glitter fabric pen could be used to write a DIS name on the top.

These are smaller and are $4.95 for a dozen.

Then there are these tropical mini-stockings, pretty cute and $5.95 a dozen.

Just a thought.....

Well gosh Indiana Jones and Han Solo were the reason I picked Harrison Ford. Duh he looked better back then! :p But I didn't know we were allowed to pick characters... But it's okay...at least he aged well. ;) :cloud9:

Morning everybody! Sheesh Kat...you are always up so EARLY! And you're at least an hour behind me! But that's okay...I'm up at 4:30 too to get into work before traffic hits.

'Morning All :surfweb: :wave2:

Gonna be a hot one here today. Over 90. Julia's off to take a cooking class till Noon then we're having a little pool party.

Kat, off to WDW on Friday. That's if I can get to the airport. I don't know if you all heard about the Big Dig Tunnel ceiling collapsing, but it has cut it down to only one route into the airport. Boston traffic is just a nightmare. A woman lost her life...very sad.

Yep, the summer's flying by. When we get back school will start up in 20 days, and that means back to work for me  . Boy, I could get used to this retirement stuff :goodvibes .

Jen, I'll get over to you the Fantasy Island group. I have to think on it a bit. Don't remember who I had last time  .

I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but for those who are going from the port to the airport, how are you planning to get there? I am wondering if we might be able to get a small private bus; it seems like I saw something for shuttles that will hold 15 to 25 people for a pretty good price. Anyone interested?
I believe the Disney Cruise Line buses take you back to the airport. We always rode them to and from the airport for both our cruises.

No, we are the same time as you. Indiana is on Eastern time and this year we even started going on Daylight Savings time. I get up around 5:30am so I can get DD up and moving and get myself dressed and ready for work. Plus have a little time for myself which I don't really get the rest of the day!

We are coming in the night before and our plane home afterwards doesn't leave until late so we are renting cars. We are picking one up when we get in Friday night, staying at a hotel near the airport, then driving to the port in the morning. After dropping off luggage, myself and DD, DH will return the car to the Port Canaveral location and catch their shuttle back to the port. When we get back in he will take the shuttle to the pickup, get the car, come back and get us and the luggage and then we will spend the day in Orlando. With what we are doing and our schedule it just made more sense to rent a car and with the hotel the cost is about the same as the Disney shuttle for the three of us.

They do, but the cost is $30 per person. I just thought that if there were a bunch of us going to the same place, we could get a van for up to 14 people for $195. I am planning to get a town car from POFQ to the port, and I am trying to decide whether to get it round trip (back to MCO) or use the DCL bus for the convenience of pre-checking our baggage. I imagine that since it will be the day after Christmas, the airport will be very busy so DCL bus is probably the best idea.

I love all the Pirates quotes we have in our signatures! There were soooo many good lines in that movie. I love the dialog between Pintel and Ragetti about the fight on the island and Ragetti's comment about the dichotomy of good and evil being what vexes all men. He has some great lines. And of course Jack has some really good ones. I love it when Norrington is surprised that Jack told the truth about the chest and Jack says "I do that quite a lot. Yet people are always surprised.". He may be a scoundrel but, for the most part, he is pretty honest. And he is pretty open about the fact that he isn't always honest. I think he really is a good man, he just won't admit it.

That's one of my favorite parts as well!

:santa: I just found the coolest thing on e-bay! Someone is auctioning off 6 cases of 24 Disney stockings per case. They are a little bigger than I was thinking of at first but for the price not bad (listed at $24.99 on a Buy It Now but also has make an offer). How many people would be interested in one? There is no guarantee which characters we would get so it would be pot luck as far as that goes. The auction has about 6 days... :santa:

:santa: If you would be interested in having one to hang on the fish outside your door please let me know. If there is enough interest I will look into getting them. Or maybe some of the others I posted earlier. :santa:

OOH I like the ones on ebay! I'd go for it!

Where was the "fish extenders" discussion?

I like the stockings on ebay, too. Dibs on Stitch if there is one! I like these much better than the OTC ones.

So, DS is at camp...DH is at work...I think I'll go see Pirates again! (Tuesday is free popcorn day)

Nope nope nope Sorry I got Brad on my island. They can only be in one place at a time. And the game does not allow the same man in different characters on different islands. Sorry Karyl.
Brad Pitt
Lance Armstrong
Cary Grant
Robert Redford
???? waiting for NFL to come back into season for #5

It's our game, can't we change the rules?

That's what makes it a challenge. You have to wait for someone to give the guy the boot before you can bring him ashore to your island.

And oops I made the mistake- I didn't have Robert Redford, I had James Taylor. And Denzel is off- making room for my NFL draft choice.

i am working on transcribing POTC2 so when it's done, you can all look at your favorite quotes over and over :-D
