Great, DH just called. He heard from his doc on the results of his bloodwork. He goes next Thursday for an MRI. The results show that his problems are likely caused by a tumor on his pituitary gland so they have to determine the exact location, size, etc so they can determine how best to treat it. He is pretty blase about it but I am going to be a screaming wreck until he hears back on the results from that. :worried: :worried: I think we need some of that old fashioned pixie dust... pixiedust:

Judy, my DM is very alert but limited mobility and is legally blind. She goes to the senior center twice a week for exercise, lunch and fellowship. Not sure what shape she will be in after the ride to Florida with gaRry!

Sue

Thanks Sue! Just gotta wait and see, I guess. They are telling him it should be treatable through pills but they haven't said for how long, etc and they aren't even sure about that at this point. Hmmmm...

Sue, why is your DM going to ride to Florida with Garry? Does she prefer that to flying? I suspect my DM does. She had a stroke jsut over 10 yrs ago and is in a wheelchair. She cannot walk, has terrible tremors, her speech is very difficult to understand and she cannot feed or dress herself or do any of her own personal care. We flew her to England last summer and DH and I took her on a 3 day Disney Cruise last June. She had fun on the cruise but doesn't want to do it again and I think she really doesn't like flying much either. I can't really blame her.

Did Vicki have a good time GaRry? She said they got to ride Expedition Everest too.

We had a great time - Expedition Everest is the BEST ride Disney has ever made!! I would never have thought a ride was worth waiting over 60 minutes but this ride is!!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

went to WDW for DD's cheerleading competition. my, my some of those mom's can get down right viscious. :scared: I don't think I have ever encountered a ruder bunch of people in my life (parents & kids) :(

My, my chatty bunch today.

Kat, I wil definately send lots and lots of PD pixiedust: DH's and your way. I hope everything turns out ok.

Crashing at Judy's. HA, what were you thinking? With this bunch and a night of party: , we might just miss the boat :teeth:

I wonder when they will post what the excursions will be. Last time all we did was go to beaches on our own and the pirate cruise on St Lucia. We might have friends and family going to St Lucia for X-Mas break so if they are there when we dock (we may be docking there too early) we'll probably just go for drinks.

I would be happy to do the ressie linking for the late seating. I did it on the last cruise and there's really not much to it. I think the '04 X-Mas cruise was the first time they had to link so many people together and we drove them a little nuts, but I think they have it down pat by now. If someone from early seating doesn't want to do it, I'll be glad to do that one too, but I think it's easier to have two seperate people do it.

If you want to send me a pm I'll start a file, but I won't contact DCL until much closer to sail date.

I'll need all names in the party, cabin number and ressie number. If any changes are made in your seating (early/late) you have to make sure to let me know and be removed from the main ressie number being linked before changes are made, or the whole group goes with you.

Kat, just playing with gaRry and DM. Jeanne is a good sport and will do almost anything. Neither of us mind flying. She likes cruising and is comfortable on the ship if I leave her for a few hours.

Hey gaRry, I have a DNR for Jeanne. She O, I think +. Guess she won't be very helpful. And she likes sightseeing, especially if you give her good descriptions.

Why do you think we are great---because we are all falling apart?

Kat---We'll be anxiously waiting to hear. Prayers your way.

We don't usually do anythin in KW either.Did the glassbottom boat ride once--not good very murky. Will probably be cold anyway. We just wandered around the towns at St. Maarten and Antigua. That was uneventful so I think we will try to do a beach/cruise type thing. We did a cat in St Lucia that was nice. We went to Magens Beach in STT. We loved it.

Sorry guys--survivor is on and I am a bit of an addict.

And lots of thunder out there. Severe storm and tornado watches and warnings all over the state. DD is scared of the thunder and doesn't want to go to bed even though it is her bedtime. Ugh....

Travel school? That sounds cool. DH says I should be a travel agent since I love to plan vacations. I suspect I wouldn't enjoy it as much if it weren't my vacations I was planning, though!
People have been telling me for 30 years that I should be a travel agent, and that is the response I always gave them, too. But I was really getting tired of doing accounting for a living and since I could afford to take some time off I decided to go for it.

Judy - yeah, I am definitely the resident expert on all things Disney. I take every opportunity I can to talk about this cruise.

As for excursions, we are up for anything that will get us out exploring the islands, not much for laying around on the beach or snorkeling. Some kind of pirate cruise would be great or catamaran racing. Driving through that volcano sounds cool, too.

Judy , we went also. Did you go on the DCL excursion? We did and it was delightful. The guide was very attentive to DM.

Sue

Kat---I can't believe they are not there yet. I will be really worried if they are not there tomorrow. That would be more than enough time. Postal service makes me crazy.

Sue---the DCL excursion was full so we took one of those taxi things from right outside the ship and went over. It was so cheap. I think it was like $10 total for all of us. Then we could leave when we wanted too.

Hey All,

We did what Judy was saying. We got a taxi at most of the ports to go the beaches. They actually took us to the same beaches that the excursions were at. Saw lots of people with the bracelets on. Definately the cheaper way to go. And yes we could leave when we wanted to.

Late dinning for us Bubbles. Count Richard, Alison and Meli at our table.

Ok so my neice has been invited to attend the National Youth Leadership forum on Medicine at UCLA this summer. (I'm soo proud). Apparently this is the second year she has been invited and my DSis is finally well enough to let her go. Hopefully she'll receive another invite to the one on politics that Jen went to this summer in D.C. as well. Anybody want to sponser a young Alaskan youth let me know. ;)
Hey Jen if I give you her email could you give her some pointers? She has a free ride to U of Alaska Anchorage, but we don't want her to go there. She has already won grants for a couple of science awards, and is recognized on the national science something. (way too much grey matter for me.)

Kat, pixie dust for your DH. Hope all turns out well.

Survivor. gotta go.D
