Checking in at 9:22 pm PT here at the Residence Inn in Anaheim. :) We are dead tired on our feet and 2 of the 4 of us are already dozing. I got maybe 2 hours of sleep in the last 40 hours and am ready to doze too but wanted to let you guys know we got here. After a beautiful flight...never before saw what we saw from the plane...the desert...the mountains...GORGEOUS!!!! I took pictures but I know that they won't do the view justice. We got to the hotel at 5 or so and walked to DTD, had lunch at the RFC and hit BAB and WOD. :) Tomorrow is DCA...not open until 10 so there is a chance we can sleep in. PLEASE!!!! I am feeling a strange sense of calm even though I am really excited about this trip. Having read about your experiences on the WB and now looking forward to experiencing it ourselves. :) NIGHT NIGHT!

Great to hear you arrived safely.

You are going to have an AWESOME time!

Hello from DL!!! :) Great day today! We went to DCA with our one park per day WDW passes and ended up being given PHs!!! We didn't realize this until waiting for the Aladdin show...which was amazing! We headed over to DL in time for the parade. Lots of lines but still enjoyed things. The kids made friends in every line. :) Saw the fireworks from the hub and Fantasmic from the second row of people sitting at the far left. GREAT SEATS!!! We are beat today and are heading back to DL for 8 am.

Thoughts about the difference between the two so far...DCA didn't feel like Disney to us. We enjoyed a couple of the rides but just not fun for the kids except for Toy Story, Monsters Inc and the Aladdin show. The CMs here aren't as friendly...at least the ones we met up with...and one lady who kept telling us we had to move when we were trying to figure out where to go sit in the dark for the fireworks ended up being told that she was being added to my list of why I like WDW better. The people here seem to be ruder when it comes to clearing out after big shows like the fireworks...lots of pushing and knocking into. I told W to push back if anyone did that to him. :( Good thing about the attitude is that they will let you know if you are doing something not by the rules. Some people stood up in the sit down section of the hub and street area and lots of people yelled to them to sit down until they did. DL definitely fills our Disney addiction. :)

I hope today you have a better...less rude day! :scared1:

I am sitting in the office waiting for checks to be printed for me to sign ..... then I can go on vacation to NC. :woohoo: We're going to the mountains in NC for a week and have the same house on the lake that we did last year. :cloud9: JoJo gets to go with us on this vacation.

I hope you have an awesome vacation! Rest and Relax!!!!

Guess what I finally got to have today... fresh tomatoes from my garden! The deer attacked the plants in the late spring/early summer, so I had to restart my planting, so it's a little late this year for the first tomatoes! Yum!!
The raccoons ate ours so not a single one made it.

I've been scrapping again.

A Great Dad, when they asked for volunteers with only the instructions, "when Minnie arrives head to the gazbo" he jumped right up.

Sorry John but I am SO going to show Carl this one. Of course you are such a sport and if I asked him if he would do such a thing - imagine his answer. :rotfl2: Of course if his daughter asked him with those "please daddy" eyes - I don't know...what do you think....

Lisa sounds like you had an eventful start of a trip before you even left. Yikes. At least you arrived without incident on the West Coast. Tell Todd we are shouting take what you can to him when you guys are at Universal.

You can see some of the land locked issues with DL that they considered with the build of WDW. I recall being so shocked that I could see the park when I was in their downtown disney section. I remembered them building ToT and seeing the construction from my hotel room. My West Coast friends are always overwhelmed when they first see WDW. I kinda wish you could record the reaction from the DL crowd to the parade rule breakers - imagine the reaction at WDW

Have a wonderful time!!!

I finally started my December planning (late for me). I hadn't even rented a car yet. We are going to try the Wave restaurant this time. Anyone eaten there yet? Dumb me didn't get our vouchers before the price increase but thank heavens for DVC because I do like that discount.

I wanted to take a quick trip before that doesn't look feasible unfortunately. One of these days I will make it to MNSSHP as we have never done it.

April vacation cruise is on the distant horizon. I haven't given it much thought. I want to go on the Wonder to see the new show but I really want to do an Eastern cruise because I haven't done one yet. I would love to wait and go on the new ships. That's a lie. I would love to do both if I am being honest. I just don't want to wait 2 more years to cruise.

Yesturday was a good one at DL. We met up with a new DIS family as well as Todd, Melissa and Destin. Of course we rode POC with them! The kids hit it off great and the three of them rode together for Haunted Mansion. Today was the pool day and we are recharging. It is so different here with all of the walking. Yes, we walk a lot in WDW BUT the busses to the parks make a difference. Tomorrow will be very nice with the tram and tour. I have had shin splints the last day or so. We are going out for Chinese food tonight and do as little as possible before going to sleep early. I can't believe that in 48 hours we will be getting ready for our first dinner on the Magic!!!

Kim told me about the nightmare you had getting off the ship in LA. I am very greatful that we are disembarking in PC where the porters are probably very glad to see us return. :)

Lisa, just under 36 hours to go!

Hopefully Leaving from the port of LA will be much smoother then coming into it. I think it was the fact that the immigrations officials were inputting each and everyone's passports into the computer system, it really back things up. They don't really do that in PC, just those who raise a red flag. Then the luggage rooms were just a joke.

Love and hugs Pj

Luggage and customs in LA . . . bad memories . . .

Sounds like you are having fun Lisa -

POC with the Captain . . . priceless . . .

How about Michael Phelps!!!!!

Sorry to say that we are pretty much missing out on the Olympics. Guess you could say that we didn't pay this much to go to DL and the cruise to watch TV. While loading the washer a little bit ago they said something about him going for his last medal and then something about the relay team...which I seem to remember last Olympics he was the alternate but still got the medal though he didn't swim...guessing it is the same this year? Pretty amazing! Missed gymnastics too but I plan to watch the Americans' routines online when we return from this trip. I did see that the American girls won gold and silver...incredible!!! I watched the guys win the team bronze the night before we left...they were ore excited than the Chinese for winning the gold. OY!

Good morning from central NC. :yay: We leave for the mountains tomorrow and it will be nice but I sure wish I were going on the Magic. pirate:
