This whole thing doesn't make sense. One of DS's friends got a 2 day suspension in Kindergarten for joking around with his friend saying "man, I'm going to kill you for that." He had no malice when he said it & got punished. A boy in DS's Kindergarten class brought a toy gun to school & was suspended. OY! Hearing that middle & high school students get away with serious threats really makes me upset!

Actually, I know of two other kids who are also threats in others grades. A 3rd grader was choken in class to the point that her vessels broke & her neck was bruised. The kid got 1 day in school suspension. WHT??? A 4th grader smacked another kid on the side of the face with a backpack in the hall for no reason & was just left to stand in the hall until the classes got back in their rooms. ACK!!!

I'm sorry. I know kids are kids and push and shove at times, but that is assault! Very, very serious. I believe we have a no tolerance thing for hurting others, but I am not sure what the punishment is.

Lisa, i want your school district. My DD got a two day suspension for taping a pencil to the back of someones chair. (note: it was longways, not projecting; but the idiots in charge called it assault) I told them i don't want to see it called assault unless there's blood involved......

OK, so here I was, working away to get to that 36,000 milestone, and the DSL goes out. Restart. Post a few. Then DSL goes out again. Won't work on restart. So I'm forced to leave the laptop, actually get a shower and pick up DS from preschool. Being a responsible adult is boring.

I did leave. I dropped DS at preschool then went to WM. I got DS shorts for next year for 3 bucks. I got myself a pair of capri's for $5 and some sweater tank tops for $3. I also got myself a new EAGLES shirt for $15 (not on sale.) I got DS 2 pairs of sneakers...Thomas for $15 and on sale nothing special play ones for $5!!!! I also got DD a spring dress for next year for $5. Then I picked DS up at preschool....I was gone all morning.

Cruise-related question -- Anyone else with boys......you are bringing/renting tuxes for formal night?

We've done this on the longer cruises, but I was kind of hoping to forgo it this time. But, I don't want to skip eating in the dining room. Could youngest DS get by with a pair of nice khakis and a dark navy sport coat (with shirt/tie) on Formal night? Or do I bite the bullet and rent 'em again?

Older DS now has a black suit that could almost pass for a tux.

DH will wear whatever I tell him.

(Well, not anything.....I'm pretty sure he'd give thumbs down to a banana outfit!)
