I noticed many of you can't count, but I thought I would let you all figure it out on your own, :rotfl2: . I think the big 30 will be on Sunday.

I was :lmao: and shared with DrHug that he needs to give some lessons and why (talked about the favorite quotes stuff) and he laughed and said he thought my favorite quote was "I don't care who pumps up the tires as long as I get to ride the bike!". :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: That comes from many years ago when someone asked why I never seem to get jealous. :lmao:

Good philosophy!

(as long as they don't put too much pressure in the tires! )

Didn't want to disappoint you Caroline since you guys passed 29k while I was busy interviewing.

Brandi, Karen, and Marielle ( plus anyone I may have missed in PA), I hope you are all safe and sound after the storm. I haven't seen the news yet today, but they were talking about quite a storm headed your way last night! :grouphug:

Thanks Caroline. It was very scary - windy, downpour and some unbelievable thunder and lightning.

pssssst. I think you meant Kristina. But no spelling errors.

I know I'm pages behind...but this made me laugh...I was wondering what the heck kind of stenciling I did.

This has been on HELACISOUS!!!! Of a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm beginning to not feel loved Caroline.... (i'm not Karen :guilty: )

As long as i get the bandannas in the next two weeks, it wouldn't be too bad (maybe my goal would be completely 25-30 each week until cruise time)

Of course if Karen or anyone else for that matter wanted to come down to help, i wouldn't refuse. (or i'd send you a stencil, paint, and 25 bandannas in a box)

I would do a multi layer stencil (like the ones for crafts) one layer for stripes, one for mickey head, one for the white fuzzy part of hat

(if you think i'm nuts you should see the favors i did for my sister's baby shower; i bought 50 flower pots and saucers; spray painted them white; glued ribbon to the top rim, added dots on this sides to match the ribbon, did an attached card with poem, filled with blue shreaded paper and baby's breath seed packet. They were really cute.)

We love you Kristina!!!!

And I don't mind helping!!!

Caroline,

How about DIS meet at the Covered Bridge festival at Knoebel's?
IT's kinda right near Brandi too. Hey sleepover at Brandi's house. :grouphug:

(just kidding about the sleepover part; but covered bridge festival is really cool. You let the kids loose on the rides and mom's go look at all the crafter stuff. (about 100-200 vendors)

....still catching up....if you haven't told us already...when is it?

has anyone heard about the manhunt in Lakeland? This guy shot and killed and officer and a police dog. It is right near my mom's house - and she has 5 acres of perfect hiding land!
They had the schools in lockdown yesterday KHS didn't get out until after 10pm. My sister went there.

Well all my family is in Lakeland so they are pretty worried right now. There are apparantly 1000 officers on the search this morning.

I've heard about it!!!! I hope everyone is okay. That is unbelievable for those kids.

So yesterday I got my dress that I ordered on Ebay for semi-formal night :) Tried it on and it was too big, but by just a bit... woohoo... thinking I might get a size smaller. My DH couldn't stop talking about how good I looked in it - awwwww -- I have lost 15 lbs this last month so I hope I can drop at least another size by December.

:yay:

That must be such a great feeling!!!! :)

This is for out mathematician Becka. (Phew, had to check the sp of that one! :teeth: )

DD is in pre-alg. They are doing order of operation and adding and subtracting positive and negative integers. Her teacher writes out their problems something like this...

5+-9+6--5+-8--10.
Shouldn't it be;
5+(-9)+6-(-5)+(-8)-(-10)

I can't stand it without the parentheses!!

Techincally she does not need the parentheses but IMHO it is just good form to include them for readability. You should tell her teacher that a mathematician DIS Geek told her so!!! ;) :thumbsup2

Good job Captain but you can’t quite claim to be Mr. 30,000 just yet…. pirate:

It looks like I missed 29,000 while at a work lunch thing and I am sure I will miss 30,000 unless you guys slow down and save it for Sunday night.

We are leaving to go to the in-laws this weekend so we pack up and leave this evening. DH and I will miss chat but I guess that is what we have to do to spend some quality family time together although you would think all that family time during yesterday’s DIS outage would count for something! ;)

DS has been having a really good week at school and I hope it continues today. This morning after I dropped him off I went outside in the hall and watched him through the window. DS and two other boys (Cory and Keegan) were standing there. DS had brought in two “home toys” a Spiderman action figure and his toy dragon. Cory had brought a yellow Power Ranger. Nathan had the Spiderman and the Power Ranger while Cory had the dragon. Keegan was kind of looking sad and I heard the teacher asks Keegan what he home toy was. Keegan said he didn’t want his toy so DS went over to him and offered him his Spiderman (“for the whole day”). Keegan said he didn’t want the Spiderman and I think he must have mentioned the dragon because I saw DS go over to Cory and trade him back the yellow Power Ranger for the dragon and then he gave the dragon to Keegan to play with. I was very proud of him because he was concerned enough to share and most especially since he actually was willing to trade a Power Ranger toy to do it. Sometimes you see stuff like that and it makes you think that maybe you are doing something right as a parent. I don’t feel like a good Mom very much so I have to take it when I can get it! ;)

See Becka! You are such a good mom!! You raised a sweetie!

Have fun at the in-laws. Will you have any access to the internet at all? I mean, can't you explain to them that you have cult activity on Friday nights?

I do know what you mean...that's why I always miss Friday chat...we have family night and then DH and I have our time. We so rarely get to talk and just be together...that is our Friday and we'll be doing it again tonight.

Have fun.

When is the covered bridge fest?? I am all for a day at Knoebels!! You guys are welcome to come to my house!!!! I won't scare you off!

Next weekend Brandi 6,7,8 go to www.knoebels.com and look under events for more info. I have to be back home sunday afternoon but Saturday looks good to me!!!!!! We can stay with DFIL who lives in Lewisburg on Fri night unless Brandi likes Doggies. Abby and casey would be travelling with us.

We have friends that live nearby (some little podunk town no on maps) that have a new-born (ok he almost 6 months) that we haven't met yet so i need to see if maybe she wants to come to the park too with the baby.

Wow that's far!! Over 220 miles.

and hershey is how far for you.....? what 175?

i know you are at least 50-60 miles from Philly. Philly is pretty much 110-120 miles from Hershey.

Depending on how you come across it not that much more of a trip.
